1. LS: Now, you have before you the proposition of [35], of ..., Tennessee, relative to the Indian Fork Coal Company, for information as to the disposing of $150,000 mortgage bonds, bearing 7% interest on 750 acres of Dean coal one mile West of Indian Fork, Anderson County, Tennessee. You will answer all questions and give such information as I request of you relative to this proposition.
2. EC: Yes, we have the proposition here. This we find may be handled in Chicago, through the firm as represented by Robert McGrath, who are brokers especially in bonds that have to do with development of this character. This may be reached through several sources, either through the Planters Bank & Trust Company of Hopkinsville, Ky., or of the City National Bank of Columbus, Ohio. In these channels we would find bonds of this character can be handled. This is a very good proposition.
3. As to the way the disposal of the output of property is to be handled, this has some very bad defects. Correct those. They may be handled differently when the proposition is in actual operations. Some of the propositions ready in hand might be satisfactory in the next two years. There are others it is best not to consider.
4. (Q) What are the defects in the proposition? (A) We have no defects in the proposition. Defect in the proposition of the output when it's in operation.
5. (Q) Have you anything further to say? (A) There are other coal propositions in this country, and not so far from this, though in adjoining state, that would be very easily handled, and with much less capital than will be necessary in handling of the Indian Creek. This we find in the Northwest part of Georgia, and two miles from the railroad. The conditions there would be easily set for the tipple, and for the run of the mine, and the drain is a natural one. The coal would be found to be of much better quality and readily sold. This we would find may be handled through Westcott of Wheeling, W. Va., or by Croshett (?) in Birmingham, Alabama, Room 425, Woodward Building.
6. We are through.
