1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [53]. Now, we find the conditions are abstruse in some respects as respecting the physical forces of the body. While in many respects conditions are very good, there are those conditions in the physical that, taking warning of in the present will prevent further inroads or later developments as would be much HARDER to combat than that as has BEEN existent through this inactivity of that assimilated in its proper sphere or manner. While the outside influences have caused or brought about those derangements in the system in such a manner as to prevent the proper distribution of that assimilated, through improper incentives from those centers from which the radial forces of the body supply that of the replenishing in the nerve and blood forces of the limbs or the extremities in their activity - much of this, as we find, is of a specific nature, and while those changes through the applications as have been given are well - as has been the diet in many respects - yet both of these, as we find, have been neglected in part; for with the releasing of pressure, unless there are the incentives given as would cause or produce a resuscitation of the forces as regulate the activity of the extremities - especially in the lumbar or solar plexus centers, radiating through those of the locomotories - these will NOT, just because the pressure is taken off at times, build - WITHOUT that as would stimulate same TO the point where there may be resuscitation for those centers where impingements have existed, and where there is still the lack of the proper filling or supplying of nutriment for the proper activities.

2. In meeting the needs of these conditions, not only that as is to be supplied as will bring FOR the resuscitation, but those forces as manifest through those of the mental body, as well as those in the physical, must be given PROPER and DUE consideration.

3. In the application, then, of mechanical forces, as will

53-1 Page 2

be for this resuscitation of forces, these must coordinate WITH that of the desires of the physical forces. These, as we find, being in that position of a complex, must be met in a way and manner as will bring for the PROPER reaction; then in a direction as will make for those of the proper resuscitating forces as may be guided by the inner man itself, through that of the mental and physical coordinating together.

4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find below normal.

5. In the NERVES' reaction, this may be called a cause and a result, for with impingements in the cerebrospinal system, as produced by exterior influences and the result of the bacilli as has been active - or was active in the system, especially in those centers just below the solar plexus, or that of the 9th, 10th and 11th dorsal - these not only bring for a cold internal system, as related to the assimilating forces of the system, but to the locomotory system those of a disturbance between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal, in the lower lumbar plexus. This prevents proper coordination in the sympathetic and cerebrospinal and makes for the activities in the lower portion of the body, becoming those of voluntary-involuntary in their reflex.

6. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, this, as has been seen or given - these are very good, save as to the reflexes to the SENSORY system, which - being in that position of incoordination between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal in the lower portion - makes for, in the cervical and those of the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus, as they cross in the upper portion of the body, those reflexes that make for the over-activity, or an accentuation of the functioning of the organs, as is seen at times from the throat - or in voice and speech; at others in the hearing, again as seen from the eyes. ALL of these, in their respective cycle, HAVE had, or DO have, their improper reflexes.

7. In, then, the meeting of the needs as a whole, we would meet same as this:

8. With the corrective forces as will be made through those of adjustments OSTEOPATHICALLY given, and the massage following same - two of the general treatments to one of the adjustment treatments should be given. These should be given at least every week, two general, one corrective, in the cerebrospinal system; the corrective forces being for those in the lumbar and dorsal; the general being more from the solar plexus upward. Also apply with same those of the vibrations from the sinusoidal reaction, as will make for the SECONDARY - not the high, not the low vibration, but of

53-1 Page 3

the secondary vibration - making same conjunctive with that of the brachial centers, or in the 2nd and 3rd dorsal, and those of the lower portion of the lumbar, or that in the 4th and in the 1st sacral. These would be changed, to be sure, for a DIRECT reaction - after there has begun to be adjustments made, and the application then would be to those of the 3rd and 4th cervical, and to the umbilicus plexus - just BELOW the umbilicus. These would make for a DIRECT reaction, which will change for the vibrations through those of the intestinal system, so that ASSIMILATIONS are in accord WITH the VIBRATIONS of the body, so that the blood supply and the blood building becomes the nearer normal in its reaction; taking also, internally, those of the properties as would be in compound as in this:

9. First we would take 8 ounces of distilled water. To this we will add garden sage 1/2 ounce, ambrosia LEAVES - not much stems, but LEAVES - 1/4 ounce, Prickly Ash Bark..................1/4 ounce, Dogfennel, or Mayblossom..........1/4 ounce, Wild Ginseng......................1/2 ounce. Reduce this by simmering, not boiling too strong, to 1/2 the quantity. Strain, and while warm add 1 and 1/2 ounce 85% alcohol, with 1 dram of Balsam of Tolu cut in same. Then add 3 minims Tincture of Capsici. The dose would be half a teaspoonful 4 times each day, taken about fifteen to twenty minutes before the meals. Eat the meals, which should consist - this as an example, though may be altered to meet the idiosyncrasies of the body itself:

10. For the morning meal, these should consist principally of the citrus fruits - though gruels may be added, especially those of the whole wheat, of the oat, or of those where both the gluten from rice AND wheat are combined - or most as Wheatena.

11. In the noon meals, these should consist principally of the raw vegetables - a good deal, especially, of those of celery, lettuce and tomatos. This may have those of the dressing with same, preferably those of the oils with tapioca or such with same. This will aid in digestion.

12. In the evening meals, we will find those of the fish as the meats - not too much SHELL fish, but those of the juices of meats, and those that are of the vegetable forces that are WELL cooked - but if any are used that grow UNDER the ground, use rather the peel than the pulp of same, as in white potatoes or yams, or turnips, or any of such. These, as we find, will aid. The iron, most should be taken from

53-1 Page 4

those of spinach, kale, or such - but these should be WELL cooked - but NOT with grease. There may be used butter, but not the grease as comes from fats or suets, or such. Add these in such a manner that the system is kept so that ELIMINATIONS are near normal. We will find the body will build to a near normal condition, [53].

13. In the activities of the body itself, as respecting those complexes as for the mental forces - these may be BEST met as the treatments are given, either in manipulation or of the sinusoidal, by one administering same - not under hypnosis, but by positive suggestion, in a gentle, quiet, easy way and manner, BLUSTERING about the individual will only irritate. To scold, or to be too much of the commanding nature, is to destroy the better portion of that that may be builded in the body. Learn, or teach, or train the body - not only to be good, but be good FOR something. Let there be known there is a duty to self, and hope in service - for without service to the other, one may gain little in THIS experience in life's forces, for Life itself IS a service. USE, not abuse.
