Time of Reading Unknown. ..., Ohio. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: [110], ..., Ohio. Yes, we have him here. The trouble we find with this man is in his eyes. They are out of focus, he cannot see only out of the side or if he turns his head side-wise. Look directly in front he does not see well. This is caused from the condition we have of the lens or the action of the light on the lens of the eye as this in turn is carried to the optic nerve.

2. The impression that is perceived through the eye to the retina is not perfect on account of this obstruction in the center of the lens due to lack of focus. This condition that exists in these eyes has allowed the lens to be ruined by being out of focus for so long. From the side we can see it, from the center it does not show. The condition of the nerve itself is also noticeable. We have a drawing here, also, at the back of the head, in the optic tracts it manifests itself. This drawing of the muscles has persisted so long until the eye is pushed out, so to speak, which puts it out of focus; that is, the light does not pass through the lens at the proper angle.

3. This condition was produced first from eye strain, which dates way back as far as 1900, at least. We have the eyes inflamed, the lids, the outer covering of the eyeballs but in the eye proper, as yet, we have no inflammation. This was produced from strain through the nerve, increased tension by continuance or from use in artificial light until we have this inflammatory condition. Nature going to the rescue and trying to absorb the conditions by excreting an inflammatory exudate to carry out nature's function as the whole eye was overtaxed has left this condition as we find it today. Left it overstrained. The applications that were applied to these eyes dilated the pupils and did not accomplish the results sought. This at times affect[s] the sensory organism of the brain or to the mind and has produced to the system an overtaxed condition of the sympathetics through this over-stimulation in the optic nerve, optic tracts.

4. In trying to eliminate the condition of the eye this over-strained condition was the result until now we have

almost darkness as a result of this preceding condition. The system then absorbs the inflammatory exudate that existed, took away the inflammation and has left this peculiar condition of the eye as we have it here, now, in 1910.

5. To remove this condition from the eye, we have at present, we will have to act through the sensory system, thence through the sympathetic system to direct nature's energy toward absorbing and restimulating to allow the cortex to expand enough of the nerve matter and stimulate it so as to reproduce the condition as we had it in the beginning.

6. It will reshape the lens and produce tone, in general, to the whole visual tract. In treating this patient first treat him through the mind or through the sensory system, by suggestion, as the sensory system of the objective mind has control of the senses. This is the first step. Keep down the inflammation as we have produced it. We will have inflammation come back just the same as it went out. He is going blind if it stays like it is at present. He can be cured only if you can get complete control over his mind and the treatment is applied in the proper direction. In other words, treat the subconscious man first. His sense system can be controlled from the outside by another normal mind; as we control the mind we can then produce inflammatory conditions requisite to reduce the inflammation or to combine the present existing condition.

7. He will go blind if you do not get that away. If we do not treat it through his mind you cannot remove it, as he is going blind if he remains as he is at present.
