Time of Reading Unknown.

1. MHB: Now, Mr. Cayce, you are going into a quiet, restful, normal sleep. You will hear me when I speak, and give the information in detail that I ask of you, slowly and distinctly. Now, Mr. Cayce, you are asleep. Before you in this room is the body of [140]. Go carefully over this body, physically and mentally. Examine it thoroughly, and tell the conditions as you find them, giving any abnormal conditions, the history of the conditions and treatment and cure or relief. Then we will ask questions. Slowly and distinctly.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. Now, we find this body very good in many respects. There are some abnormal conditions in the nerve system and in the structural portions of the body that hinder in the perfect functioning of the whole system.

3. These are the conditions as we find them in this body, [140] we are speaking of, present in this room:

4. First, in the blood supply in the body: This we find very good in many respects, the division in the white and red blood near normal. The pressure in the body not always normal, produced by specific conditions in the body. This is not a condition in the elements and constituents of the blood, yet the circulation becomes affected by the conditions, and the circulation so hindered that functioning organs at times are under distress from the condition. Neither is it organic condition in the heart or the pressure produced by organic conditions in heart.

5. In coagulation, blood elements very good. Numbers in red blood corpuscles seem normal at present time. The white blood and plasmatic cells produce a leucocyte supply - is normal at present.

6. In the nerve system we find there are conditions that produce the abnormal pressure in blood supply, for the conditions that exist between the sympathetic nerve system and the cerebrospinal nerve system show that there are centers that are hindered in their normal functioning, that give distress through sympathetic nerve system, and cause

abnormal function. Hence, the body is very sympathetic at times and there are occasions under certain stresses that the condition produces a full pressure in carotid artery and to the pineal gland, producing the strain to the sensibilities of the conscious and - portions of the body, [140] we are speaking of. This pressure we find in the fourth and fifth dorsal segment, and lesions produce the strain between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal nerve plexus.

7. The reaction to the system from this is to produce in the secondary cardiac plexus the strain on the cardiac circulation producing full capillary - circulation. The reaction in sympathetics is to carry this pressure in - to the pineal gland at the base of the brain. This we see overtaxes the emunctories and the excretory system, liver clogged by same sympathetically. In the second dorsal center we find there has been in times back a condition that has brought injury to the plexus governing the circulation in the arms and shoulders. This is not in connection with the plexus disturbances in fifth and sixth dorsal but are only brachial centers and especially in the left side is the reaction. In the plexus from the lower lumbar we find there are lesions formed from conditions existing in body in times back, in so far as that produced in upper dorsals, see? MHB: Yes, sir.

8. From this, we find it brings distress at times sympathetically when the action in the system is through the glands that have to do with the functioning of the glands and system in the pelvic organs. This is produced through nerve reaction, not organic conditions save sympathetically.

9. In the functioning of the organs themselves the sensory organism and the organs of same show the reaction of sympathetic nature, only not abnormal conditions or functioning.

10. Brain force very good.

11. In throat, lungs, larynx, the condition in the upper dorsal being such as to make the body amenable to congestion in this portion of the body. Lungs good. Digestive tract shows only the reaction in the strain as produced by conditions in the nerve system, and not organic conditions, the predisposition in system being that which would give the general strain on the duodenum and portions of the intestinal digestion.

12. In the liver, the emumctories and lymphatic circulation show the strain on system through congestion and the intestinal tract shows the effect of lesions in the lower

140-1 Page 3

pelvic region. Show strain in the digestive tract and affect the circulation, being detoured through emunctories. The pelvic organs show the reaction through the functioning of same by conditions existing there.

13. Then, to give the necessary relief to the body, we would take these properties in system that would give the correct incentives to the functioning of the system - correct osteopathically by manipulation with applied heat, conditions in upper dorsal region from sixth to the first dorsal and in the lumbar region.

14. To one gallon of rain water, add: Sarsaparilla root...............2 ounces, Yellow dock.....................2 ounces, Burdock.........................2 ounces, Poke Root.....................1/2 ounce, Calisaya Bark...................1 ounce, Elder Flower....................2 ounces. Reduce by simmering, not boiling, to one quart, strain well. While warm add three drams balsam of Tolu cut in four ounces of grain alcohol. The dose would be a teaspoonful four times a day, before meals and before retiring.

15. Eat the meals regularly, and let the diet be such as to keep the excretory system functioning normally. Not too much meat - more of the cereal and vegetable nature, taking care of the eliminations and correcting the impingements, and we will bring the body to the normal conditions.

16. Do that.

17. (Q) Will it be safe for this body to have another child, and have good health before and after, Mr. Cayce? (A) If the corrections are made in the lumbar regions as given, yes. It would be better both through the mental and physical forces of the body.

18. (Q) How long will it take the treatment to cure this condition, Mr. Cayce? (A) From sixteen to eighteen treatments should at least be given, depending upon the attitude of the mental forces to the body as to how soon the body responds to conditions, see? MHB: Yes, sir. For with each and every force applied in the physical there must be corresponding force applied in the subliminal or the spiritual force in the body, for without this entity having these forces coordinated, nothing becomes a whole to this body.

140-1 Page 4

19. (Q) How often should the treatments be given? (A) Twice a week.

20. (Q) What kind of vibration should be used for heat? (A) Electrical vibrations or strong reflected rays from electric light that the body may be thoroughly relaxed when the adjustments are made where the subluxations of segments show. See? MHB: Yes, sir.

21. (Q) Will an osteopath be able to administer both treatments? (A) He will.

22. (Q) Should any special machine be used in these vibrations? (A) As we have given - reflection from light.

23. (Q) What causes the semi-fainting which overtakes the body frequently? (A) We have given this - pressure produced by lesions in the dorsal region on the pineal center.

24. (Q) What is the pineal center? (A) That gland in the base of the cerebellum that extends through the whole system and gives equilibrium to the body.

25. (Q) What causes the pain to the arm, neck and shoulder of the right side? (A) Conditions as given. In the left side of the brachial plexus center.

26. (Q) Has the body any thyroid trouble? (A) Only as that from gland conditions producing the pressure from the pineal gland.

27. (Q) What is the spiritual condition of this body? (A) As given.

28. We are through.

29. Now, Mr. Cayce, you have finished the reading on the body of [140]. In one minute after I cease speaking, you will wake up feeling perfectly normal. You will feel very happy over having done a good and will continue your good work. Now, in one minute's time, perfectly normal, thoroughly refreshed and relaxed and in good humor, you will wake up.
