Time of Reading 3:35 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C.

1. GC: You will have before you the entity known as [165], who is at the Stratford Hotel, 11 East 32nd St., Room ..., N.Y.C. You will consider the talents and abilities of this entity, the various affairs in which he is interested, and direct him in devoting his time and energy to the end of serving his fellow men. You will answer the questions regarding his activities which will be presented.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those abilities latent and manifested in the experience of the entity.

3. In considering ways, means or manners, as we find there has been given an analysis of the experiences of the entity and the application of same during those experiences or sojourns; showing the errors or shortcomings, the abilities that have been latent and manifested from those activities.

4. Then as we find, analyzing these, it would be best to set within self that ideal which is in keeping with those influences that would bring into the experience not merely an idealistic life but one directed rather in those channels in which there may be the meeting of self in the light of what is set as its ideal. This does not mean an ideal in name only, but with the courage, the fortitude to carry on in those things that answer to the better or divine within.

5. This as we find would be the manner, the way for the entity to direct its activities, to bring about that which is making, as it were, peace with that call within for service.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) I desire to so arrange my affairs as to devote my time to handling small groups of boys who are not fitted to follow through our regular educational programs and need special attention. Please direct me in establishing the proper contacts and carrying forward this program. (A) As we find, in every undertaking of such a nature,

165-22 Page 2

there must first be within self the desire, the knowledge, that self is equipped for an undertaking of any nature. Through the experiences not only in the present but in many another, there have been the activities that have equipped and do equip the entity for such an undertaking. Then BEGIN - by making such associations, or such connections, where there may be begun with just sufficient numbers of such to meet the necessary overhead, and then as the applications of self are made, and as there is shown that there ARE the qualifications of improvements in such directions, these may be builded upon - or expansions made to meet those demands that will be made upon the entity in such directions. As to where, as we find either in those surroundings above the central or Metropolitan area, or the facilities in the eastern portion of Pennsylvania, or similar surroundings. As we find, those northern portions of the Metropolitan area, or in the mountains or edge of same, offer really BETTER facilities if the arrangements are made for boys only. Do not attempt to mix either instruction or in the ones to be instructed. For the natural qualifications of the entity are to deal with MEN - or boys, that are in need of such aid or help in those directions. As to whom to approach - we would give expression of same in a prayerful, in a meditative way and manner, and let this be known by word of mouth, by advertising, by contacting those who have been and are in the position to know the needs in these directions. Thus we will find the way being opened for such an undertaking. Of course, there are those qualifications that become somewhat questioned by some; and these the entity must meet first in self and come to those determinations in policies, in activities, in those influences that would make for the surrounding of self with those equally as qualified for the handling of such undertakings.

8. (Q) If advertising were used to contact boys in the Metropolitan area, what should be the type of advertising - through what medium? (A) Rather, as has just been indicated, by contacting those who work with boys in varied capacities; as camps, schools, and recreation surroundings, directors of such schools and

165-22 Page 3

activities about same, see? Then if necessary to advertise, do so; but it wouldn't be necessary if these contacts are made as indicated - for there would be the ability to have sufficient, or more than the entity and a couple of helpers could handle - well, next season, if it was begun!

9. (Q) Comment on the advisability of some connection or arrangement with H. J. Reilly of Sun Air Farm in N.J. (A) There has been given information already as to just such a type of center for development of just such conditions. This is approached from somewhat a different angle, yet the information as given there would be beneficial here. This as we find is an excellent environ and sufficiently close, also sufficiently far away, to be a most desirable place. There are those who are affiliated in the activities of Reilly that also might be interested in the undertaking for the beginning of such - especially those that are affiliated with special activities with the theatre, or with the cinema.

10. (Q) What time and effort should I devote to the following. Please give suggestions for handling each activity, as I call it. First: Chichester factory proposition in connection with [257]. (A) All these must necessarily be qualified by what is the outcome of the activities in these directions. For is these were developed, these would require the greater portion of the time of the body in the starting of same, especially for the next year or for the first year or so after it was begun. Then it would require at least a third of the time.

11. (Q) Furfluff in connection with Mrs. [1000]. [See 1000-19] (A) This is far afield from those approaches we have just made, but - as has been indicated - there are those conditions or lessons from that which has been given the entity in the analysis of the mental and the spiritual development, that need attention. There should be sufficient time given (if any is given) for the setting of same in order in all directions; that is, as to name, containers, the manufacturers, the protection of same. And there it might end, or it might be continued dependent upon changes, or this would lead to the necessity for laboratory experimentation with other developments that would come with same.

165-22 Page 4

These then become problems of the entity, as to how far the body desires to enter into same.

12. (Q) Beauty Parlor Equipment. (A) From the experiences, this had best be let alone.

13. (Q) Economical Ice Chests for use by the masses. (A) This again is not in the field of activity, save as might be directed by the entity; not of personal activity in these fields.

14. (Q) Ice Cube Patents. (A) This would be only a passing development if there is any time given.

15. (Q) What time and activity should be devoted to helping [1376]? [See 1376-1, Par. 28-A.] (A) This again depends upon whether or not there are those cooperative measures needed in the activities for self or for [1376]. But each entity must stand upon its OWN INNER developments to bring peace or harmony. So long as any is leaning upon another, or so long as self is leaning upon another, there CANNOT be the full or complete control of self. Hence only as necessary, then, for the encouragement, the fullest activity in the direction of each, in their chosen fields of service.

16. (Q) How can I be of help to [758]? [See 758-40.] (A) This might require a whole influence within itself! First there must be the ability to sell self to those upon whom [758] is dependent. That is first; and it's no small job in itself! As to the ways, means or manners, as has been indicated this should be approached from [758]'s angle...not from [165]'s angle. [165]'s angle is that if there is the ability for self to have the charge of same, then apply self in those directions in which it will bring those needed inclinations, those needed helps and interests for the development of same. Its application!

17. (Q) Just how may I be of service to the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., in studying and presenting the work of Edgar Cayce? (A) As has been so oft given, the activities of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, Incorporated, are twofold. Primarily they are for the teaching, the training for individual service or individual soul development for

165-22 Page 5

individuals. [See 254-93, Par. R1.] Then first there must be - If the entity desires to aid - the convincing of self as to the channel offering these qualifications for individuals. Then work at it! This does not mean other than suggesting, when there is seen the need - but not demanding; when there is the need of assistance in individuals qualifying for activities, seek through same - if there is first the convincing within self that such a channel is in keeping with, or answers to that within self for such direction. See?

18. (Q) Any other suggestions for the body at this time, or counsel? (A) Make the better peace with thine OWN inner conscience. Then hide not the light under a bushel.
