Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [459] ..., Far Rockaway, N. Y., and her associations; especially her school in Far Rockaway, L. I. Also you will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [165] ..., Mich., and his associations; especially his proposed program of operating and directing a school for boys. You will answer the questions that have been submitted regarding these, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the bodies, the enquiring minds, the association and the activities of each.

3. First - we would give, as we find, rather a summary for each: There has been given that undertaking which would be better as to the type, the nature, the characters of the work by [459].

4. While that proposed by [165] is well, and while [165] might be one well to advise in the associations for the [459] or the [...] School, these as we find should not attempt to mix in their undertakings - but separate; yet may be so construed or so organized as to be a helpful influence one for another.

5. For as given in the first, after certain ages there should NOT be the mixing; and this would preclude much of that which is proposed in [165]'s undertaking.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) Should the [459] school limit itself to children up to 9th grade? (A) Up to those not older than twelve to thirteen. Whether they are in the fortieth grade or first, stick to these ages! for the most of the character development, most of the activities as to the physical development occur or begin during these periods.

8. (Q) Should the [165] school limit itself to the high school grades? (A) Beginning there, at thirteen to fourteen to sixteen to eighteen; and this should be boys rather than a mixed

school.

9. (Q) It would not be advisable to operate the two schools together, even if [165] keeps his separate? (A) This, as indicated, is not a bad condition, but they should be separate institutions. Do not mix them. One may be dependent on the other, as in the advisory capacity, as in the helpfulness in any of the ways that may arise in the experience; but: They each must in the first have a place to fill in the experience of those who are to receive instructions and aid and help in such institutions; else why another institution? Again these, as their problems have been, as they are, are set for a definite field of service and activity. This is the idea: The school program for [165] should be for those who are backward, afflicted, or in many of such conditions; while the [459] school should be rather for those who show a mental well-balance and not any backward or awkward conditions or such. There is a field of service and activity in such a field as proposed by the [165] program, and this as we find may gain the support of those who have been thinking along such lines, who have their mind set in that direction, who are willing to contribute not only of their means but liberal means for such an undertaking. Begin not in New York but not too far away; in the mountains or in the hills, where there may be the advantages of New York in the way of the psychiatrist, the psychologist, the activities that may be a part of such a service in such an institution. Then with the proper activities, the proper set-up - after it is well established in the mind of self - the first approach would be through Judge Seagrave [Segrave (?)] [Seabury] and then to the DuPont interests; which, of course, come back to the President. [5/35 See 257-149, Par. 43-A & 44-A in re Alfred Dupont leaving fifty million for the welfare of the crippled and aged.]

10. (Q) It would not be wise, then, for [165] to undertake a program on the same location, but in separate building? (A) Let them be rather counties apart; very well that even the Sound be between them.

11. (Q) Should Readings from [Edgar Cayce] be used to direct the progress of each student? (A) This may be a part of a research program, but not as dependent upon same; rather as a helpfulness in same.

12. (Q) Could each student be made a member of the Association, a preliminary requirement being a Life Reading, its cost to be included in the annual fees? (A) Those that are necessary should be a part of the program, as just indicated; and may be set up as a part of the psychological and psychiatric activities in such undertakings; but not as solely dependent upon same. Too easily does such become misconstrued in the minds of many who might be and are interested in such activities; but these may be used as a part of a program for vocational guidance as well as the setting up of activities that will aid in those who are backward or who are defective in some way or manner. It is such a program for the defective or those who are partially so that will be the appeal to the money interests, or those indicated - DuPont. Irene. [Irene DuPont, Alfred DuPont Estate]

13. (Q) What chance have we that Chichester will be available for camp and school this season or next? (A) May be in the third or fourth season, but not in this or next. May be in Pennsylvania, but as has been given, the better locality for the SCHOOL - as indicated - is in the mountains of Jersey or New York; not too far from New York but where there may be visitations, where there may be the advantages of all the higher studies research in development of such undertakings.

14. (Q) What are the relative location values of Chichester, Merner Place, Land O'Reilly? (A) Merner and O'Reilly are nigh unto the same. As we find, the [Harold J. Reilly, Sun Air Farm, Oak Ridge, N.J.] Reilly is the better location even than the Merner; though these are very close and it would work in either place - but more may be obtained in such a background as the Reilly place, as we find. We wouldn't change the [459] or [...] school as yet. And keep them far apart when such is to be accomplished.

15. (Q) Should the two schools have an Industries as part of their curriculum?

165-23 Page 4

(A) To be sure, if it's to be the beginning of that which is for vocational guidance, in that direction - this is part of all such.

16. (Q) What Industry lends itself best to best development of students and what Industry lends itself to a helpful income? (A) ALL! As is indicated in the surroundings; weaving, (and it includes all characters of same) pottery, painting; wood carving, cuttings and the like.

17. (Q) How can [165] finance himself until his school will pay his expenses? (A) Set this up and it'll pay his expenses and several more!

18. (Q) Would an advertisement in national spiritualist magzine bring students from parents so inclined, especially if they knew of the psychic Life Readings as aid to vocational guidance? [Work:EC:] (A) Go direct to the institutions first - and these individuals. First, Seagraves; then through those channels and connections - DuPont's. These come back, as has been indicated, to that which creates a cycle for [165].
