1. GC: Now, you have before you Section 7 and 18, Township 8, Range 17, West Gila and Salt River Base Meridian, Yuma County, Arizona. You will answer the following questions regarding this land, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have these here. We've had these before, you see.

3. (Q) In section 18, describe migratory conditions of oil in general and state how to drill and control oil on this land. (A) Now, in section 18, we find in the South and West quarter of this Section, near where the Southwest quarter is connected with the Southeast quarter, and turning toward the East half, in the form of almost a right angle, a basin; that is, for oil basin. This shows in the formation a ridge with stream that is dry most of time, in the North and running toward East and South. In this ridge we find migratory oil; that is, the pressure, the flow that would be found were drilling completed to the 485 feet, we would find there would be the steady production obtained, for with the tide in the West with the pressure of the hot waters coming from North and West, [this] would influence the pressure that would force oil in. At time this handled properly; that is, with the flow, we will find [t...?] come from the 11 o'clock hour (mountain time), the flow is lessened in noon day. When forced we would change the flow from the oil to that of the water by attempting to force, but by going with the flow from the hour after this has ceased, which would be 3, you see, in evening, until 11 the next evening (that is, the next morning), we would find we would keep a steady and a constant output of the production. In this manner does it mean it must be handled. Do not have the flow or the production brought in during the hour from 11 until 11 in evening. Between these hours it must be brought in. The water strata, this we find will be troublesome to obtain water for the drilling purposes rather than for the troublesome portions in the production. We will find some waters flow but not sufficient to be of trouble in the drilling. As to the location, we would find that near the corner as would be made in the Southeast quarter line,

between Southeast corner and Southwest quarter, near the quarter line and on the East side of the ridge, or near where there is the outcropping of a flat rock with sand about same, coming 302 steps from the South border of the middle line in Section 18. Drill there.

The production would be varying from 50 to 200 per day. Would be of lasting, provided the oils are handled properly. Necessary from the kind of oil from its base, that wells be cleansed properly, regularly, and handled in a consistent manner. Make good field. Very good production, if handled correctly, in the manner and way to have the production.

4. (Q) Would well settle fast? (A) Only if not handled properly. Then we would find would settle to where the production would be nil, on account of migratory nature, yet handled properly we will have lasting [d...?] for, though of migratory nature the base from which this properly production is fed vast quantities.

5. (Q) Now, on Section 7, (Section 7 and 18, Township 8, Range 17, West Gila and Salt River Base Meridian, Yuma County, Arizona) where does opal and turquoise outcrop? What depth does this mineral go? [See 195-5 on 5/6/24.] (A) The outcrop we find is in the ridge that lies in the Western half of this Section, near a clump or bunch of the mesquite, and is in the quartz that shows in the ridge rather than the ravine that comes near this line. These extend, as we see, in a North and Westerly direction from the outcropping. These are abundant when it comes to the caverns and the quartz walls as would be encountered in exploring these properties from this point.

6. (Q) Give exact location and depth below surface. (A) We have given the exact location, you see, here on the ridge, the outcropping is in the ridge, you see. The depth below surface varies, according to the distance as is gone in North and Easterly direction - topaz in quartz - opal in hollows and in the formations where that they are in almost the chrysolitic state and in the boulder when broken inside.
