2. EC: We have the body and enquiring mind of [195], and the associations as we find with the [182] & [195] Mfg. Co. Many of the conditions, as is seen, that we have had conerning this are beginning to change, with those conditions that have surrounded same since last we had it. Yet we find some of these are developing in a satisfactory manner. Others seem to be, or appear as rather confused. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Would a connection with H. S. Talbott Co. be for the best. Talbott Co. taking one half Co., [195] retaining his half interest? Would company keep up or increase earnings during coming five years? (A) Such an association, with [195] in charge or managing of affairs, WOULD be good. Would be well, and we would find that there would be rather the increase in the business or output of the combination.

4. (Q) In investment in Hotel Van Cleve a good one? Will hotel be a success from start? (A) Fair. Not EXTRAORDINARILY good, but would be a success in a manner until there were some changes in which there would be a greater success a little later on - second to third year. Wouldn't be a losing proposition - not much gain for the first year or year and a half.

5. (Q) Advise [195] further regarding this association with the [182] & [195] Mfg. Co. that will be of assistance to him. (A) As has been given, there are many conditions to be considered as regarding this association. While these have grown to the point where these are not altogether satisfactory, and while there are two or three ways and manners of the conditions being changed in a beneficial manner for [195] that as presented through the association of [195] as manager of concern, with Talbott, offers the better

solution, other than that as has been given regarding correcting of differences and of operation. The conditions have brought about some conditions that would be hard to RECTIFY at the present. Hence the association with Talbott would possibly present the best at the present time.

6. Weigh all matters well before deciding - then follow that as is presented to self on Sunday evening.

7. We are through for the present.
