Time of Reading 10:25 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Fla.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [228], who is in the office of ... industries, ..., Fla., and who seeks advice, counsel and guidance as to his physical body, also his mental and material affairs. You will answer the questions which he has submitted regarding these, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [228], and those conditions in the physical and material that confront the body at this time. Many of these we have had before.
3. The general physical forces of the body we find somewhat improved. While the mental conditions have kept, and do keep, the body in somewhat of a turmoil, it will be well that there be kept sufficient of the properties in the tonic [228-3] to aid the digestion and that the eliminations be kept somewhat above the normal. Not to excess, but that the coordinations may be kept in accord sufficient for making better resistances to those disturbed mental or physical conditions that USE the forces of the physical body.
4. For, as we have given and indicated, when there are disturbances mentally or physically there is discord and incoordinated forces in the physical functionings of a body. That is one reason why, and where so often, that the functionings of sleep or rest, to those attributes of the physical and mental body, bring recuperative or destructive forces; dependent upon the impulse apparent in the whole organism considered as one.
5. So, for this particular period it would be well that those properties given be kept active; not to excess, but that there may be the better physical functioning of the body. While these may be reduced at times, they should be kept up when there is felt any lagging of evenings, tiredness in system, lack of proper assimilation or digestion.
6. As to the general material surroundings and those
228-4 Page 2
conditions that disturb the body, as we find, there are considerable changes in the general affairs of those with whom the body has been associated, and that there may soon come those changes of a materially different nature.
7. While there are some two or three courses that may be pursued by those interested, it will be necessary that the financial institution, or bank, make or show THEIR interest in the affairs of the corporation FOR self-protection.
8. As to what their attitude will be, this will depend upon the activity or attitude of those who have been or who are yet considered in authority in the corporation.
9. And with the interesting of other channels or sources, for either the use or distribution of those products of the corporation, there may be the CONTINUED activity for the resuscitating of those that are interested in the existent conditions.
10. This may either come through those individuals that may be interested in the various characters of the products that are manufactured, or mined or quarried by the corporation's interests. And connections may be made or begun (as some are) in the centers where there are the needs of the materials so prepared by the corporation, or through its efforts, for building materials, or the products of the potteries in various centers where connections may be made direct to those larger distributing points of such materials; as may be made with either those interests of Wanamaker in Philadelphia or New York, or both, or with the Macy interests in the middle west; for those in the building material that COMBINES same with other classes of materials of the same nature, that fill different portions of such buildings - that are under construction, or considered being constructed under the present building programs, both by the government and by those of kindred interests.
11. Hence the activities of the body, [228], would be in keeping in as close touch as possible with the banking interests, that will - or must of necessity - move to protect them- selves at this time; and with the offer of being willing to aid, or to assist in making such associations and connections, there may be - even under the stress at the present period - the greater distribution. For, as seen, WORKING the organization is well! Idle, it becomes almost worthless under the existent conditions!
12. As to the body making further connections, or connections in other channels and directions, it would be well for the body to qualify with state, with government, in such a manner as to be in line for consideration for the service as a C.P.A.
228-4 Page 3
man; either in the interests of the state banking interests, state offices, or even in government affiliation or associations in the same channel. Or, if these appear to be hopeless, or to become too greatly entangled through the necessary channels or red tape (as it may be ordinarily termed) for making such associations and connections in these directions, then consider rather DIRECTLY those offers that have been made in the middle west, even though it requires the changing of residence or the changing of affiliations and associations.
13. However, as we find, if there are the proper overtures made to the banking interest - NOW, by the time those activities that must of necessity require the changing of much of the assets of the corporation are made with the banking, and opening those channels for further connections in the distribution, the body may rise to that position of manager, active vice-president, or the like.
14. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) What should be his answer to the company in Texas about the position in Texas? (A) First we would follow out these channels that have been indicated. Then, if these in the state or with the present associations seem hopeless, we would accept - even as we have given before. But do not leave or let the opportunity pass, by not keeping in touch with these interests as given; for, as indicated by the various connections that may be made, the qualifications and abilities of the body - in its physical and mental attributes - are appreciated by many that the body hasn't even considered or thought that he was being "looked over," as it were.
16. (Q) Should he make on behalf of the ... Industries, Inc. a proposal to Algernon Blair, a contractor of Montgomery, Ala., to buy the stone plant of the Mizner Industries, Inc., and if so what terms, conditions, and price? (A) As indicated, this consideration or connection is well; but if there is the prospect or the ability to make such associations or connections with the banking interest (that these connections such as Blair may be made in), there would be FURNISHED the material at a price that would allow the operations to make not more than a living or redemption wage. Then other associations or connections of the same nature may be made, see? So that, rather than SELLING same, may there not be made those associations and connections in SUPPLYING same to the various interests who have the various
228-4 Page 4
connections? As may be made with those of the building stones, or builders that supply stones in the various centers where construction is going on - see?
17. (Q) How best to approach these? (A) Go direct to the banking interests! DIRECTLY, in person! For, while the considerations must be given to those that are considered somewhat of superiors in the connection with the present corporation or organization, if these are considered as BEING those superior in ability there will not be the SAME consideration given by the banking interest! Hence go to them direct! Not as one that is UNDERMINING the others, but that their interest is there (the bank's) and they must establish their position; that is, the bank. Then as to the ones that are capable of hand- ling the situation! For, a RUNNING plant is worth much more to the bank than one sold on the block!
