Time of Reading 12:30 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. Virginia Beach, Va.
1. GC: You will have before you the psychic work as done by Edgar Cayce, and the contemplated work of the Association of National Investigators, Inc. Correlating these together, you will give us the information we ask for. We have prepared membership blanks, membership certificate - and there was given a portion of a letter to those who have had readings - also we have prepared blank for member's application for reading. As we read each of these, you will please make the corrections necessary, completing the letter, and keeping all in accordance with the purposes of the forces of the phenomena, and the work of the Association. You will answer any questions that I may ask you.
2. EC: Yes, we have that as is seen in the phenomena attempting to be applied through the work of the Association, and the motto and purpose of Association should be, that others may know the effect of that manifestation of the forces as may be applied in and through self. [See 254-42, Par. 17-A for correct wording of motto; given 7/15/28.]
3. Ready for those papers, as has been given, for much is sought to be said concerning the work - yet the material forces, conditions, circumstances and surroundings, must be considered - yet there must ever be kept first and foremost those purposes of the Association, and there must be kept in the association of the phenomena with the work of Association, that differentiation as is necessary for the better work of each - for there is seen, as has often been given, that first to the individual, then to groups, then to masses; for in the contemplated work there is seen first the individual, then the group (that the Association), then the masses, as is to be reached through the better application of those lessons and truths that are to be gained individually; yet many may be applied collectively, in the proper sphere and surrounding. Forget not the sources through which the power and force comes, and let each as
254-36 Page 2
take their part, or portion, so sanctify their selves and their lives that they may be holy and acceptable unto Him, through and of whom the force is given.
4. Ready for papers.
5. (Q) (Reading application to membership, carrying Class A, C, D.) Name..................................................... (full given name - not initial) Address.................................................. (City) (Town) (Rural Route) (Street) (State) (A) These, as we would see, should be on more than one line, or more than one line ruled for such - placing Name, State, County, City, Street, etc., on different lines - not attempt to write all on one, see?
6. (Q) (Continuing) Business................... Position..............Employer's Name................. Married or Single.......... (A) Instead of business, put Occupation.
7. (Q) Age........Name of husband or wife............... Number of children and their names.................... If mother is living, her name................If father is living, his name........................ Check class of membership desired CLASS A - SUBSCRIPTION MEMBERSHIP - YEARLY DUES - $15 ( ) which entitles applicate to become a member of the Association for one year, with all the privileges of same. CLASS C - LIFE MEMBERSHIP $250 ( ) which entitles member to one reading and to privileges of the Association for life. CLASS D - ENDOWMENT MEMBERSHIP $1000 ( ) and over ( ) which entitles member to one reading and to privileges of the association for life. It also provides the means for the Association to serve those who desire help from this source and cannot afford monetary contribution. (A) Instead of saying "which entitles" in each instance, rather would it be preferable to say ENTITLING. This, as seen, is very good, provided there is the proper
254-36 Page 3
character of information given as regarding the benefits that may accrue individually to such a member, see?
8. (Q) How may this be determined? (A) There is a letter, as seen, as has been given, which is in preparation.
9. (Q) (Reading application to membership, carrying Class B, C, D.) (A) Same correction as to lines. Same correction as regarding the "which's". Also, in this class of application, there will be seen it will be necessary to meet the needs of the INDIVIDUAL situation, as respecting the letter as will be sent to such as make requests for readings - for this will become necessary - to make known to ALL that the conditions as surround the phenomena are NOT that there is being sought especial monetary gain through these sources! Rather is there being attempted to - in a systematic manner - give the more efficient aid to all who seek for aid through these sources, and in the combination of many this may be carried on - for, should the membership reach that of the one to five thousand, THINK of the resources of the Association - for in this number, at the $15 yearly membership ALONE - there is the $15,000 to $75,000 income, see? and many peoples in this manner may be served that are unable through any other source to obtain physical, or mental, or spiritual aid. Impress THIS phase of the work upon each and every individual - meeting, as is given, the needs of the individual case; for remember: To individuals, then groups, then masses - for no specific may be given as to those seeking first the first association with the phenomena, by making the first application, see? The spirit of that being attempted must be kept first and foremost before all, see?
10. (Q) (Reading membership certificate.) (A) Non-voting should be at the bottom - not under Class; for no class - as is set forth in the charter as granted Association - has a vote, save its trustees or managers. Non-voting should be at the bottom, see? under all. To Whom It MAY Concern, instead of "To Whom It Concerns." With the small changes, this may be used. Very poorly gotten together for such an Association - yet may be used for the present. Don't have too many of them prepared!
11. (Q) (Reading first part of letter given in reading on June 4, 1927.) "To those who have been interested, directly or indirectly, in the phenomena as has been manifested
254-36 Page 4
through Mr. Cayce, these come as greetings. (A) THIS comes as greeting.
12. (Q) (Continuing) There has been perfected the Association of National Investigators, Incorporated. This as the way - (A) This SEEMS the way -
13. (Q) (Continuing) for the more efficient study of the phenomena, that it may supply through same the benefits that mankind in general may gain through through same. This is to ask, then - that should you desire to gain an access to the study as is being made by this Association - for you to become a MEMBER of such an Association - (A) for you to become a member of same.
14. (Q) (Continuing) for being limited in the amount of work that may be given, the readings may be had only by members. The membership fee for those that have ALREADY had readings is $15. (A) The yearly membership dues are $15, or is $15.
15. (Q) (Continuing) For those who are members, readings may be given at the nominal sum of $10." (A) For those who are members, readings may be had at the nominal sum of $10.00.
16. (Q) You will continue with this letter. (A) "A copy of the by-laws, rules and regulations governing the Association is herewith enclosed, and Mr. Cayce asks that all who are interested respond at once, that there may be the more efficient manner of presenting the good - that has been gained by so many - to others. Sincerely, Ass'n of Nat'l Investigators, Inc. (signed) Gladys Davis Assistant Secretary

(ASSOCIATION MEMBER'S APPLICATION ONLY) Any correction on this? (A) Here we find - it will be very good for all members to have such, and these - as we find - should be made in pad only, and accompany the membership certificate - and NOT with the by-laws, rules or regulations, for these should accompany each and every letter, with the purpose or foreword set forth in the same pamphlet. Do not confuse these! Very good as set - but made in PAD of five, and numbered, and EACH member then becomes a number, see?
18. (Q) Would it be better to give an entire new certificate for membership? (A) This very good. This may be used, as is given, see?
19. (Q) Any further advice regarding this? (A) Much may be said or given, and - as has oft been given, do that in hand - then ask for more!
20. We are through for the present.
