1. GC: You will have before you the organization work done in connection with the Association for Research & Enlightenment, especially the proposed by-laws, a copy of which I hold in my hand [See Source File Key #254]. As I read these by-laws, you will suggest any changes or corrections and make any subtractions or additions that will be helpful to the work, or facilitate the functioning of the Association. You will answer the questions which we will ask.
2. EC: Yes, we have the Association for Research & Enlightenment, and the work as has been done thus far regarding bringing into PHYSICAL existence the work itself.
3. In the organization, there should be particular stress given in that direction in which the physical body, OR association, is to function. If in the material sense, then greater stress in that direction. If in the mental or the philosophical, or such, then in that direction. If in the spiritual awakening, then in that direction. For, as the credence is gained in WHATEVER field of endeavor the organization takes FORM, then there will be added that NECESSARY for the proper functioning in that direction.
4. As there are necessities to be met in the present situations, these should be so balanced in presentation that no one PHASE becomes the paramount issue if the organization is to keep well balanced. Ready for reading.
5. (Q) (Reading without interruption to Article IV, Readings and Memberships, through "a. INTRODUCTORY MEMBER:") (A) Should be set forth as membership entitles one TO reading.
6. (Q) (Continuing to read through "2. They will receive free all monthly data and information distributed by the Department of Publications.") (A) Should be set as to whether entitles members of the family as well as the individual.
7. (Q) (Continuing to end)

(A) With those changes as suggested as respecting members of families, as well as those minor changes in making specific corrections, we would accept same.
8. (Q) Are we proceeding in the right direction with the organization of the work? and are there any points which should be considered in the set-up which we have neglected? (A) Proceeding in the correct direction. Be mindful of those suggestions made as respecting that inclination to become material-minded, under the stress of conditions.
9. (Q) As given, a Jew should not be Chairman of the Board. Under the proposed set-up of the organization, would it be advisable for David E. Kahn to be Chairman of the General Board? (A) As has been given, as has been outlined in the by-laws, this - with prayer and due consideration - may be left to the advisability of the Board, by selection or vote.
10. (Q) It has been suggested that cards issued to Classes C & D may be used by other members if he so sees fit. (A) Suggestion, good.
11. (Q) Give any advice and counsel, or word of encouragement at this time, which may be presented on Saturday to those assembled to carry forward the organization work. (A) There has not been made provisions for a membership card, either to the prospective or to sustaining, or to any of the members. This SHOULD be included IN the by-laws, in a separate article, setting forth the type, kind, class, color, change and alterations, etc., as respecting a membership card, bearing number, date, etc., and which would entitle such an one to sit at meetings in which they are used, or may be classified in - see? This would be well to be presented before the whole articles are accepted. In the presenting of the by-laws, rules and regulations, there should also be considered that, as each officer, each one becoming affiliated with the organization the purposes - or as a creed, as an outline of what each one stands for should be read, or written, or given to each one as a keepsake - see?
12. (Q) Any further advice and counsel? (A) Keep that as has been given inviolate, for in the beginning it may be set properly. Once turned in an unmindful direction, brings discord.
