Time of Reading 4:40 to 5:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time.
1. HLC: [Mr. Lawlor had written this suggestion.] Obedient to Thy Loving Will, O Thou, Our God and Our Christ, we turn our Hearts, Our Minds, and our Souls to Thee Dwelling within each one of us and Thank Thee for Thy loving, patient help as we seek to guide our steps more truly in Thy Way. Continue to shed Thy Loving Light upon us, we beseech Thee. And if our merit permits and Thy Will approves, please give us this further information which we may use for Thy Glory and the Glory of Our Father, the King of Kings, through our service to our fellow man.
2. EC: O ye children of light, that come seeking to know the will of thy God through the light that has been given thee! in thy activity let thy light shine, IN THEE, that others may know, may see - IN thee - that thou hast been in close communion with Him who IS the light. For in Him is no darkness at ALL! So, let thy thought, thy acts, thy conversation one with another, be so permeated with that love as He gave, that ye may know that there is no approach save through that awareness within thine own self that makes ye one with Him.
3. Let thy ways be His ways. Let that which prompts thee be not of thyself, but He - thy Lord, thy God - working in and through thee. For thou hast been called unto a service in Him. Then let thy prayer, thy meditation, be "Not my will but Thine, O Lord, be done in and through me."
4. (Q) Would it meet Thy Will and the Will of the Father, if, henceforth, the readings given by Edgar Cayce should be designated as pronouncements of Thee and the Father, given as is justified by the merit of those asking? (A) This is the condition; this is the activity. Yet be ye all things to all men; thereby ye may save the more. For he that declares as a name, in a name, save in the universality of the Father, limits the ability of the seeker, of the channel through which that glory may come to any. Learn, rather, that given: "By what name shall I say that I

am sent?" I AM THAT I AM." That rather than in any name of this, that or the other manner. The I AM that seeks may gain, then, that access to the I AM that brought, brings, holds, the worlds in their place.
5. (Q) May we ask with propriety by what name Thou didst call Thy servant Edgar Cayce during Thine Incarnation on earth? (A) Lucius. [See 1468-2 on 12/15/37, and 294-192 on 2/11/38 saying that EC had been Lucius, Bishop of Laodicea, in Palestine.]
6. (Q) Is not the Foundation plan the best to give the needed aid to Mr. Cayce's and the Association's activities from now on? (A) In seeking to set plans, to make for that body through which there may be manifested the spirit of that which is prompting, that which has prompted individuals to give themselves as the ways, the means for expression - this is well, provided that there is unity of purpose in those that make such a body, and provided it is that oneness of purpose which from the foundations of the earth has been ONE in Him. So, measure ye up in thine own selves - all ye that would make for the creating of, bringing into being, that which would present ANY expression or manifestation of that which may be sought through these channels. As has been given, ye have in thine own hands, thine own minds, that which is unexcelled in manifestations of His at-oneness with the Creative Forces manifesting in the earth. Yet MAN in his miscomprehension, misunderstanding, makes same either that glorious effect or becomes the laughingstock of him that passeth by. Look upon those that were called into service as was Saul, the Son of Kish; as was Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. These came by the divine call from out of their own brethren, and were endowed with that which would make for such a manifestation as had not before been seen in the earth. Yet counsellors of these made them but laughingstocks to the nations roundabout. So, in thine choosing channels, in choosing ways, in choosing means, be thou very slow; yet make haste. For the day of the Lord is at hand and the reckoning of many is nigh unto their own door.
7. (Q) Is it not a proper purpose of the Foundation to bring to Mr. Cayce sufficient and abundant material substance to free him from the necessity of the routine of
254-85 Page 3
two readings a day under which he has hitherto been forced to function in order to merely provide his living? (A) Well from that angle. Rather learn ye that in making such provisions in the material and the mental, and in making for those things, not merely two but many such approaches may be made. REMEMBER, my children, it is the FEAR of the material conditions that wrecks the material body. It is the FEAR of this or that, that prevents a channel from making for the greater supply.
8. (Q) Should not the resources of all the earth be at his command from now on so that the Father's Kingdom on earth may speedily arrive? (A) These arise, my children, in the hearts and minds of those that are aided. It is rather in thine hands that ye make those that have received and do receive of the crumbs, of the glory, of the bounty, become aware of THEIR position in same.
9. (Q) Will it be in accord with the Father's Will from now on for Mr. Cayce to use his powers to draw to the Foundation adequate financial substance for the support of his and the Association's spiritual activities? (A) Things that are of the spirit must arise from the spiritual promptings; things that are material arise from the material promptings. What seek ye? Remember, my children, those examples shown thee. What spoke the Lord? Know ye not that where thy burdens have been as those of the finger, they shall become as thick as the thigh? Know ye not that those that seek material things must in all things pay the price of same?
10. (Q) To this end will it be well for Mr. Cayce to assist in the development and manipulation of natural resources or of business through the cooperation of business associates who could be called together for his purpose? (A) Seek ye these as through the purposes of each, and when same are called for such purpose. For there is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof is death. In seeking, then, know that what is the Lord's is to be used in that direction. WHOSE is the storehouse, the Lord's or man's? Who doth His biddings? The Lord man's biddings or the man the Lord's biddings? Keep thou, then, that way open for those warnings that ye may search and find in the experiences of those that would make of themselves as glorious in the sight of men, that they would glorify the Lord the more. Use rather, my children, that thou hast in hand. For what said He?
254-85 Page 4
"SURELY the ground upon which thou standest is holy." For he that hath dedicated his life, his service, his ability, is called of the Lord. What hast thou in thy hand? Cast it from thee that thy hand, thy mind, thy soul, may be awakened to Him who maketh for the increase in the experience of every soul! Man may sow, man may water, man may nurture; yet only God may give the increase. Whosoever doeth that which may make for a questioning in his purposes before man, or before God, is judged of same. Let thy light shine where ye are! Be ye not impatient. For the Lord is not mocked; and whatsoever man soweth, that must he reap. For it is line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little - and in His own time.
11. (Q) Which of the following who have already known of Mr. Cayce's work, will be willing to support this work of the Foundation: J. P. Morgan, E. W. Eppler, David Warfield Pye, Maurice Pereles? (A) All in the manner to which they have been called as to their part, their awakening in that as may be presented by those who form the body of that in which the spirit of that as purposed may manifest.
12. (Q) Do the names of any others present themselves at this time? (A) Let the whole world know that thou wouldst give; that thou wouldst bring about. What said He? She that cast in the penny gave more than them all. Not of thy surplus doth the Lord build, but of that which is BORN of the SACRIFICE made by him that buildeth.
13. (Q) Who would be the best person to approach the above? (A) He that hath fitted himself in his own inner self as to be wholly in accord with that which is being presented.
14. (Q) Are the aims, ideals and purposes of J. Howard Lawlor sufficiently in accord with Thine and the Father's Plans to permit him to assist in the establishment of Mr. Cayce's work on a permanent scientific basis for the Glory of God and the Synthesis of Man? (A) Whosoever will let him take of the water of life, that must be ever that with which such work must be watered. And if J. Howard Lawlor measures up, in his inner consciousness, with his meeting with his Lord, then do with the might what thy hands find to do, in bringing this thou hast found in thine experience as WORTHY to present before the Throne of grace as a channel, a means, a manner. And with all that thou art given in thine inner self, go forth and show forth that thou hast gained by thy treatment of, by thy concept of, by thy application of, those tenets in THY DEALINGS with thy fellow man. Not occasionally; not at periods; but day

by day. For himself, make known first in thine consciousness; "would it be well that my lot, my self, my purposes, my desires, be in giving to others that I have found well in this?" HERE is the answer. Not as to whether it will bring the glory, fame, fortune or what, but as the answer of thine best self. Then, take that answer into thy secret chambers of thy heart and, with thy communion with thy God, thy god-self, that I AM that ye must proclaim as the impelling influence in the hearts and souls of men, answer THERE! Then DO, DO ye even as He gave: "He that will not put away the world, even his father's house, for that which is the greatest in thine inner self, is in no wise worthy of me."
15. (Q) Would it be advisable for the proper handling of the material matters of the Foundation, for Mr. Cayce to have henceforth the assistance of a business manager for the Foundation? (A) Well! Let it be such an one as Roth, as Parker, as Johnston, or such.
