Time of Reading 10:30 to 10:50 A. M. Eastern Standard Time.

1. GC: You will have before you the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., its Board of Trustees, Officers, 1935 Congress and various other branches and activities. You will give such counsel as may be helpful at this time in preparing for the work of the coming year and in presenting the 4th annual congress. You will answer the questions which will be asked.

2. EC: Yes, we have the Association as an organization; its officers, its trustees, with the various phases of its activities in the varied directions.

3. In giving or presenting that which may be helpful at this time, it should be rather with an approach of each trustee and his or her affiliation with same; in lending to or fostering or being active in a manner as to make the organization what it stands for - either as the trustee or individual feels regarding same. Or his or her nondescript activity bespeaks of lack of interest or lack of sympathy, or lack of that necessary for research and enlightenment.

4. Well that at this time, as at others, the stress be made upon the ideals and purposes of the organization; and the manner in which it presents same THROUGH the various phases of its activity among its members, with the still seeking and impressing that there is the desire upon the part of the Association or the management for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, CONSTRUCTIVE help.

5. Then know, and impress - ever, if there has been ONE soul turned toward the seeking of the divine within, and that seeking has brought peace and understanding, the work has not been in vain.

6. Count never, then, by numbers, as of a GREAT show. Rather let each expression be of how much joy, happiness, service has been rendered to the varied individuals.

7. Present in the various phases of its activity, then, those that have given the expression; and INVITE expression of those who are SEEKING - and give each side of same.

8. As to the Congress, we find the programs are very well chosen. If they are PRESENTED, then, by the varied officers in the proper light, these should make for a helpfulness to each portion, each phase of the work to be carried on.

9. As to its vision, let that be ever in SINCERITY being an expression of the desire to be helpful in every phase of its members' experience, with a desire also to pass same ON. Not as an edict, not as with faultfinding to another; but as He has given, in love present that which has been helpful, hopeful in the experiences of others.

10. Ready for questions.

11. (Q) The following have been nominated by the Active Members to become members of the Board of Trustees either by reelection or new election. As I call each name you will comment on the advisability of each individual becoming a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association. First, L. B. Cayce. (A) Very well.

12. (Q) Robert Zentgraf. (A) VERY well.

13. (Q) Florence Edmonds. (A) VERY well.

14. (Q) Thomas Morrow. (A) Very well.

15. (Q) Esther Wynne. (A) Very well.

16. (Q) Chester Robinson. (A) Very well.

17. (Q) Helen Ellington. (A) Very well.

18. (Q) Dr. Frank Dobbins. (A) Would be very well, but not consistent with that outlined. There may be chosen, and as we find it would be well to set up, those who may comprise what may be termed as a Complementary or Advisory Board to that portion of the Research Activities. For, as will be seen and as has been given, and as has been in part attempted in this and that place, it would be well that there be those of the professions chosen for their comment upon not only their OWN activity with the work of the organization but as an Advisory Board of the Association IN ITS research phase of same, see? Now, on such a board would be such as Dobbins or ANY of those of the profession in any school; as Shorell in a phase of same; as Hildreth; as Singh, as those of ANY of the

professions in their activities, see? These individuals had best, then, be in THAT direction. Not that there becomes more of a burden, nor red tape; but rather that the Compiler, or Manager of Data that may be presented, may - from those cases that may be presented to various groups, as from reports - MAKE a WRITTEN report to be published. Not for the PUBLIC, more than those that are really interested or who are SEEKING to know just WHAT the organization is doing. Hence, as an illustration, when there is a case presented - as Case Fifteen, there would be not only the report from the family, the associations or connections, but from the physician in charge, see? Then this would be presented to such members of the Advisory Board, INDIVIDUALLY, and have them give their comment; even though it is only, "Well, that's fine!" Let them SAY SO, and have it in black and white! To this there is no GAINSAYING when questions may ever arise. For, there will be very soon the approach of the press from many varied angles; and many questions are going to be asked. Then comments of such types or natures from those who are leaders in various research organizations may be presented. Such as may be presented respecting the Ash, as one portion of the research activities; or the reports upon the Batteries, or the various characters of Appliances. THIS sort of a Board would handle such, and would be complementary to the Trustees, to the Association, and the ARM upon which the Manager may often lean heavily!

19. (Q) Lillian Young Cox. (A) Not in sympathy to the extent to make so; though later may be of a help.

20. (Q) Dr. Job Taylor. [GD's note: Ph.D. in Philosophy] (A) The same condition exists; would be very well, but the same condition exits. As in an ADVISORY capacity, or as a helpfulness IN the research as associated WITH various individuals who may help, FINE!

21. (Q) Myrtle Demaio. (A) VERY good.

22. (Q) Helen Storey. (A) Very good, though this would become a burden to this

254-86 Page 4

body.

23. (Q) A. K. Swartz. (A) VERY good.

24. (Q) Mae Smith. (A) Very good.

25. (Q) Ruth LeNoir. (A) Very good, though this would become a burden to the body.

26. (Q) Abbie Kemp. (A) Not wholly yet in sympathy with the whole purposes of that being presented, or its manner.

27. (Q) O. J. Benthall. (A) Be very good.

28. (Q) R. L. Demaio. (A) Very good.

29. (Q) Edith Edmonds. (A) Very good, though she has more activity in other directions that are much preferable to a setting aside in this. [She was sec'ty of A.R.E. Prayer Group.]

30. (Q) Claude A. Rice. (A) Very good; though, as we find, Austin would be much better!

31. (Q) Are there any other individuals who should be invited to become members of the Board? (A) As we find, when there is rather the perfecting of the associations as to the activity, it would make for rather a thinning out; yet adding to. Macsherry would be very well as associated in these directions, as also would Fox; these ON particular phases, as Chairman of the Research portions would be more preferable - one in one and one in the other.

32. (Q) What about Bessie L. Warshawsky? (A) This should come later with more activity among those of her own associations and affiliations. As a representative, WELL.

33. (Q) What Financial Report should the Manager present before the Board? (A) That which has been outlined, as to what are the needs and necessities; and budget same.

34. (Q) Is there any counsel as to the coming meetings of the Congress? (A) None other than we have found so far.

35. (Q) Are there any phases of the work which should be stressed that we are not stressing in these programs? (A) Individual aid, STRESS! Not that you are trying to capture the world or any portion thereof. For it is the individual, THEN to the groups, classes and masses.

254-86 Page 5

The groups stress for THEIR individual activity. Later we will find these coming more and more as mass. But this should never be as a mass production anywhere!

36. (Q) What should be the subjects for the two readings to be given on Friday and Saturday mornings? (A) As has been indicated; let these be selected by those present, or by a Committee appointed for same.

37. (Q) What would you advise regarding the presentation of the Cayce Foundation program before the Board in the form contemplated by the Manager? (A) This would necessitate something entirely different. Let's don't mix these together! This would require a whole presentation.

38. (Q) What should we do to rejuvenate our Study Group organization program? (A) WORK LIKE THUNDER!

39. (Q) Just what should we do regarding the Foundation program; should a Committee be appointed? (A) Be very well; Committee of the Trustees and those affiliated associations.

40. (Q) What would you advise regarding the Publication program for the coming year? (A) We wouldn't change from that we have given. It is necessary, if it is to live, that SOMETHING be done!
