1. GC: Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., and especially the phase of this organization's work as related to its publications and the preparation of articles and books relative to the psychic information presented by it. You will advise us as to the handling of this phase of the work during the coming year, answering the questions which will be presented.
2. EC: Yes, we have the work of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, Incorporated; especially that phase of its advertising or of presenting the findings of the research departments.
3. There are and will be more and more those contacts for this phase of the work.
4. And it is well that this phase of the Association's work be considered at this time.
5. There are many angles and many manners of approach to same.
6. Ready for questions.
7. (Q) Regarding Jennie Moore, of 53 Leroy St., New York City: Just what type of writing can Jennie Moore do relative to the work of the Association which will be of the greatest help to the organization? (A) As we would find, the greatest help and the greatest work that may be in the efforts of this body, Jennie Moore, would be the compiling of data for those who would be chosen for writing of specific character articles. Or, in the beginning, the presentation of special articles dealing with individual subjects. As the findings written in the form, probably, of imaginary articles - but more in the nature of romance in those associations in individual portions of the phases that represent historical research. Or the collaborating with those that would write in such veins. These of necessity would be only in the beginning individual articles. As there are the establishings of those portions
254-88 Page 2
of publications that would be as an income upon which further research might be made for those activities that pertain to the work of the organization, then there should be given more and more time - if that is the choice of the entity, or Jennie Moore.
8. (Q) What effect would a book conceived and written by Jennie Moore, called "Strange Power", have upon the work of Edgar Cayce as presented through the Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc? (A) Rather in the beginnings, as indicated, it would be more acceptable for the publications of various natures or characters from time to time to be through articles, than books. For those magazines that, from period to period, carry articles. Once or twice a year. These are the preferable characters of magazines or publications through which such articles written by this body would be acceptable, and be of the greater help. As McCall's, Delineator, True Story, Outlook; the various magazines that make for specializing - occasionally; not regularly. And do not consider magazines or publications that confine or give the greater part of their publications or space to strange powers that may be depicted from the purely SPIRITUALISTIC standpoint. But those such as the Household, the Home Companion, the Saturday Evening Post, the Sunset, the Western Magazine; those types that SPECIALIZE - as individual articles upon such subjects. This then would require, does require, that such articles or such individual cases that might be a portion of an individual article in this or that publication be written in such a vein that they never appear to be as something THROWN AT people, something that is attempting to sell an individual, or something that is intended to try any individual's development for any specific service other than that of the true relationships which the organization or Association presents at its ideals and purposes. And never, in any article written of that nature, should there be given the name of the Association nor of the individual; for this may only be presented the ONCE in the book - or a book - that may be presented by the one that writes same, not as an autobiography but as presenting the fulfilling of a longing in the hearts and souls of men - or of one who seeks to know and to show the individuality of God's love to his fellow man, and as to how it may be shown or manifested in its various phases, ways and manners. Such a book as has been contemplated by one considering same.
254-88 Page 3
But in the beginning, let these ARTICLES be rather as romantic entrances into a mystic field. Leave ever that air of mystery which man has made for his own self, in his relationships to Creative Energies and Forces in a material world. But gradually, by such a writer as Jennie Moore, these may become such as to lead those who seek. Not presenting something that all may claim, but rather something for those who seek. For, how has it been given? "If ye will be my children, I will be your God. Seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you."
9. (Q) As I call each of the following writers' names, known to Jennie Moore, comment of their fitness to handle material and suggest if possible the most suitable type of material for them. First, Robert Bruce, Seville Hotel, N.Y. (A) First, here, there would be the necessity of an interest; and the necessity of CONVINCING the body that there is not some HIDDEN meaning. Then, ANY phase might be given. Especially that which deals with the Creative Forces as related to the universality of the Creative Energies in their manifestations in materiality.
10. (Q) Davis, Harvard Club, N.Y. (A) Rather forget him!
11. (Q) Dr. Gobind, with N.Y. American. (A) Well, if he would have his real name here, you would find the approach would be from all of those that deal with the Atlantean and Lemurian activities - and especially the Gobi activity, for he was of that. Those phases. But it would necessitate that such articles be well edited or collaborated with the data that might be presented by Jennie Moore.
12. (Q) Ugo Corvino, Torino, Italy. (A) This would also be rather an extremist. For those phases that pertain to the astrological findings would be of the greater interest, or more in keeping with the entity's abilities. But the Association's findings on such are so foreign to that in which the entity has delved or presented - well, it would be rather hard to interest the entity until there had been some publications in other fields.
13. (Q) Irene Ginty, 64 W. 53rd St., N.Y. (A) The physiological, or psychological and physiological experiences.
14. (Q) Mabel Brown, Parkside Hotel, 18 Gramercy Park, N.Y. (A) Those phases that deal with the healing arts; that is, correlating such experiences. This would be rather
254-88 Page 4
far-fetched; but later can be of great help.
15. (Q) Bernard J. Colgan, Mountain Lodge Park, Washingtonville, N.Y. (A) Forget it; until there are others succeeding in same - and then he would seek.
16. (Q) Others not known to Jennie Moore; Walter Anderson, New York, Barbizon Plaza. (A) Rather the insistence on the helps that might be through introductions to the manners and means of advertising, as well as to individuals who might aid in special phases of what might be called the artistic or the illustrating end.
17. (Q) Austin Rice, Washington, D.C. (A) The theological portions, as they relate to the university of universal forces and their manifestations.
18. (Q) Gertrude Brigham, Gainesville, Ga. (suggested by Guilda Warshawsky Krause). (A) The physiological and psychological would be the phases in which this entity would be most interested.
19. (Q) Ada Wahlen, Washington, D.C. (A) With this association we find rather the various individual phases, that would be presented rather as separate and apart; or as findings from research in various fields of activity. As in that dealing with specifics for various characters of ailments, and the effect that foods have upon the body in relationships to same. As we find, one that would be of a more GENERAL help would be Crowell - Merle Crowell; already associated with Moore - in quite a different capacity, but in which a great deal of help and aid may be had. As an advisory individual in the various fields of activity; not only from the abilities of the individual himself but from all contacts and associations of the individuals in greater or lesser capacities in such activities. But these - as we have indicated - they are putting quite the many horses before the cart!
20. (Q) Would either of the following be suitable agents for either the material prepared by Jennie Moore or any of the above writers handling material of the Ass'n? (A) (Interrupting, before names of Nannine Joseph, 200 W. 54th St., and Eve Woodburn, 55 W. 42nd St., could be presented). Any portion of these may be handled through this channel. But, as we find, while these would be as SOLD through such a channel, this channel, this would take from
254-88 Page 5
rather the CHARACTER OF the material as would be presented. For here they tend to become rather as set for certain stereotyped activities, see? Be better that they be sent directly to the individuals. And this is where Crowell would become the more helpful. Not only as an editor, as it were, but an editor THROUGH WHOM the individuals (who publish such articles) would be approached! IN the various magazines' associations! That is, giving the names of, speaking to - or even a note from him, even to those that hate him, would be considered!
21. (Q) Would it be advisable for Jennie Moore to approach Dr. Herbert J. Spinden of the Brooklyn Museum with the data already in possession of the Association on the Maya Civilization? (A) Would it not rather be better that it be presented through the writer as indicated on such articles published in the Sunday Supplements? and then presented to those of such channels for verifications, and thus obtain the collaboration with those not only of the museums but of the various institutions who make for the setting out of research in these directions? These change the attitude. But they force in the one of the recognition, and in the other they seek to gain not only the incomes but the influence of those associations in the publications!
22. (Q) Should Jennie Moore be the person to handle the work and writing on the Atlantean information? (A) As has just been given, collaborate with Gobind - well, that's what he goes under! Shujhenti should be his name!
23. (Q) Is the straight fiction approach, giving supposed finding of an Egyptian manuscript, the correct one to article on Atlantis? (A) This is as well as any. But rather would it not be the more fantastic (and the more beautiful) for the approach to be those findings that relate directly to Atlantis itself? In that which HAS been discovered! Then let 'em deny it!
24. (Q) Which approach? (A) That already made by [587]! Take, for instance, the drawings that are there - see? Present them; in the various colors, that represent not only the Atlantean, the Mayan, the Hebraic, the Aryan, but the various ones; for we have three civilizations that are entirely lost represented there; as WELL as the Egyptian, and as well as the Aztec. These would be presented in colors. And let them be called - Well, they will call them!
254-88 Page 6
But from same, these tales that might be drawn!
25. (Q) Where can story "Cynthia on a Sleigh Ride" by Jennie Moore be placed for money to go ahead with better work? (A) The Sunset.
26. (Q) Regarding general material for publication: Who would be the proper person to prepare the Uhjltd scenario for a magazine serial or novelette? (A) After one or two of such stories as may be prepared are published, and some that are in preparation and in thought and in notations by Jennie Moore, then these may be sought by many of those who have been named that come under the head of those interests in the histology of the various things that are hidden.
27. (Q) In what magazines would you advise trying to place the articles on diet being prepared by Dr. Ada Wahlen of Washington, D.C.? (A) Those that deal with such; as the New Psychology, or those publications by that individual who has a string of same - who is looking for the money that they will bring; and these are new and varied. Meditation would be very good for a portion of these. [GD's note: Mr. Runes - Runis? - I believe is the individual referred to who has a string of these new magazines.]
28. (Q) What type of case reports in pamphlet form should first be prepared to send to: (1) Osteopaths; (2) M.D.'s. All of these to first be presented to Research Board. (A) This is rather a pre-portion of the work of the Association, or this phase of it. When the publications are begun, there should be as much of those pertaining to the spiritual development - as in the Norfolk Study Group Lessons - presented and edited as any of the rest. And these Lessons should be sent to be combined with the activities of Jennie Moore, if she is to supervise those divisions of same! Then with the articles published, and the Book that would arouse interest, there will be begun the seeking for the manners and ways in which each individual case - ANY case - EVERY case - has been treated, and as to the conditions that surrounded same! Then each report may be presented to WHATEVER school or phase of healing it pertains! And there will be the phases presented not only in the osteopathic and medical fields but in the eclectic, the hydrotherapy, the physical culturist, the dietetic, and in all fields. [See 254-88, Par. R1.]
254-88 Page 7
From these there may be articles gathered that would not only be helpful but would eventually become as the work of the organization. Not that so much NEW data would be stressed, but how many hundreds and HUNDREDS of volumes may be written from that which has been proven for ten, twenty, thirty years!
29. (Q) What material, and what suggestions, should be included in the proposed pamphlet on the Association? (A) We have no proposed pamphlet! Begin with the articles, and begin with the Lessons - as publications. Begin with those articles that may be written and published in various magazines. And then those combined or brought into book form with introductory remarks by the VARIOUS writers that know of or are interested in such research and enlightenment. And such a pamphlet or book distributed through the publications of the Association would make for not only remuneration - by the selling to the magazines, and activities or interest increased in same - but would make for a greater interest in the ABILITIES of the Research Department to function. It's the lack of funds that has kept same back, and this will produce them! Seek through any channel those that are interested to advance, as given heretofore, sufficient. For a few thousand dollars is all that would be required, and these will bring returns consistent with the efforts and expenditures made! COMMENCE! BEGIN! BUT DO NOT let any portion of that published be thrown at the public, or make claims that are not able to be verified from EVERY angle!
