Time of Reading 10:30 A. M. ..., Pa. (Physical-Mental-Material Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see.

2. Now, in the physical forces of this body we find the conditions are very good throughout the whole system. The body is in much better physical condition than when we had it here before, see? There are, as in all bodies, some conditions that are not perfect, normally. We find, as in this body for the present time, there are those bacteria that, without the proper balance given in the system to overcome, would eventually work to the destructive forces over the functioning of the kidneys themselves, see? This being produced by too much salicylic acid in the system, which suppresses the emunctory functioning of the kidneys, hence leads the system with this acid, which, in turn, becomes of the uric nature when reacted upon by the dross of the hepatic circulation, see? This then is only a condition that assists per se at the present time, see, in that the system may not correct this within itself but the balance of force must be given in the system to produce this return of normal condition, see?

3. The reaction as is shown in the system at the present time is, that is, from this condition as we have given, you see, to the sensory organism and at present affects the eyes in that, with the subdued light, the reaction to the retina is not sufficient to prevent the strain on these, see? Then we have a burning sensation at times and seemingly intolerable to the lids themselves, see?

4. The organic functionings, save through this portion of the body, we find are very good. Do not overload the system with one element but balance the system better - more of that that is green and fresh and carrying more of the carbon in the system, not from meats but from vegetable matters, so that we will have the reaction to the body that will supply the energy of the system and give to the nerve forces, to the brain element, the elements necessary to replenish and not burn up energy in the system without replacing those conditions that will reproduce in the body, see? This will

257-1 Page 2

be done with the diet more than medicinal properties. Physical forces of [257], here in this room, Altoona, Pa.

5. As to the mental forces of the body we find the developing of the mental depends upon the physical to supply that necessary to give the vehicle for the expression of mental energy, hence not the best forces can be manifested with the physical in a strain, see?

6. As to the financial forces in this body and the elements necessary to further those from the material, physical and mental energies expended, the body is in the ascending forces and only needs to keep the thorough understanding to make the success necessary for the betterment of the body, physically, materially, mentally, and financially. Keep the feet well on the ground, you see, both from the physical and mental standpoint, that the financial may have the perfect run for development. Do not allow the head to become above the clouds and not see those conditions as they arise, for it must needs be that body be rounded out in every way.

7. (Q) Has the condition of the hair [incipient baldness] improved, Mr. Cayce? (A) Some. There never has been as yet the thorough carrying out of those suggestions as given for this condition - only in part, and with the physical developing as has been outlined - he needs only to carry those suggestions to the end, you see.

8. (Q) In making the alcohol mixture, was it one ounce of alcohol to twenty ounces of water? (A) One to twenty, yes. One drop of alcohol to 20 drops of water, one ounce of alcohol to twenty ounces of water, pure grain alcohol, pure white vaseline, see, the vaseline well massaged into the scalp and then cut or rinsed with the alcohol solution as food for the body, see, and scalp.

9. (Q) What effect did the Dixol have on the scalp taken last Wednesday? (A) Too many pores were stopped by this treatment, see? There will arise some new energy to the scalp itself from this, but not as needed for this body under the simplier things as given here without using astringents. A vibration better from the massage as was outlined, the cleansing and the food for the scalp the elements of the petroleum for food and the alcohol to cleanse and make the vibrations correct for the body.

10. (Q) What special foods shall this body take into his system? (A) Just as outlined, more green vegetable matter, celery, lettuce, olives, preferably those that are ripe - carrots, peas, beans.

11. (Q) Should this body take additional medicinal

257-1 Page 3

properties into the body? (A) No.

12. (Q) What is the nature of the trouble that is to arise in this body in October, Mr. Cayce? (A) Affecting the mental forces and the physical also, but through that of the sympathetic system particularly. Wait on those developments, only be prepared, see?

13. (Q) Can they be prevented by being prepared? (A) They come from the outside. This body will only be prepared.

14. (Q) When will he go to Baltimore? (A) We do not have that here at present. Two moons, apparently.

15. (Q) Can he have implicit confidence in his present associates in business? (A) The same as given, the same as expressed toward him.

16. (Q) What does 1923 hold for him in a business and social and personal way? (A) Pretty large order. Many unexpected things will arise by the beginning and the developing of many things for this body, both through the physical and financial world. Not much developed in mental, unless the tend or trend of thoughts is changed.

17. (Q) Give the general conditions of the company, [Penn-Tenn Fuel Corp.] [See 4945-2 on 5/13/23], giving the development since last you had it? (A) Now in much better condition in many ways, yet ever as then, stands on the line of success or failure, see, with the sheer will force of the affairs going on towards success. This has to do with many others than [257] himself. The change in the personnel of those in charge of affairs will make considerable change, though considerable jar for a while on the Company, see? They need to have actual operations soon to keep the whole force in the better developing mind and tendency. Do that.

18. (Q) Has the Company been benefitted by the delay in getting the stock on the market? (A) Might be yes and might be no, see. Use conditions as exist and build from these. Remember Lot's wife. [Gen. 19:26; Luke 17:32]

19. (Q) Has the company been benefitted by the delay caused by B. D. Townsend of Denver? (A) No. This has been a liability rather than an asset at present. It may be turned into an asset just as we have given. We have answered it before.

20. (Q) Was the conference in Chicago between Rice [Tex Rice] and Townsend of benefit and how?

257-1 Page 4

(A) We have answered this in other - yes, or no. Use what it has made to build upon not looking back, but the experience of the condition to be used as a benefit and make of it an asset.

21. (Q) What is the next move for Rice [Tex Rice] in regard the development of the Company? (A) To dispose of sufficient of the holdings of the Penn-Tenn Fuel Corporation to begin the operations, see, in one specific place. Use that with discretion, taking into consideration the amount of holdings that are involved in the developing and the possibilities presented to further gain financial assistance for development, see?

22. (Q) Has Rice [Tex Rice] handled the proposition correctly thus far and what should he have done? (A) In the main, yes. In specific instances, far from it, see. The tend or trend of the condition of betterment has been good. There has been caused many delays by the present mode of handling, in the best, see. Use and build from what is in hand, see. Remember as was given him when they were to develop a people. "Use that thou hast in thine hands." [Moses - Ex. 4:2--5]

23. [257]: Yes sir, but I don't quite understand.

24. EC: Then go back and get the injunction the Lord gave his people. [Deut. 30?]

25. (Q) Is he conducting himself properly for the success of the enterprise, and advise him. (A) We have just given that. Make himself acceptable.

26. (Q) What should he now do for the success of the Company? (A) As has been outlined, heretofore, see. The office, those about which the forces all are given or from which all radiates. Make that the best office ever, see, from every detail, see.

27. (Q) What improvement can he place in the office at the present time? (A) Very good at present, see. As developments come there will be many changes to be made and the executive ability must be manifested and radiate from the office, and it will be well for [257] to know and understand that the better success of any office is to have experts handle as individual conditions arise and not to do them himself, see.

28. (Q) Will he be able to handle the mail order campaign himself under present supervision? (A) At present, yes - alone, no. Use the mental forces in the mail order campaign, see. Rather at the present, use those as given. We would study those lines to follow this out, see.

29. (Q) Will the literature that is being written by

257-1 Page 5

Bennett Finauck Sales Service of 324 San Bernando Bldg., Los Angeles bring in large amounts of money? (A) Very good.

30. (Q) What improvement can be made by this mail order campaign as outlined by these people? (A) The developments will be made for improvements, see, at present and present conditions very good.

31. (Q) What returns may be expected from this campaign? (A) As has been given - slow at first, see. With the present, it is all promises, see. With developments, they will all be added, see.

32. (Q) Where should the stock of the Penn-Tenn be offered for sale? (A) Among those financially able to give assistance in those Companies, who are being absorbed by the Penn-Tenn; that is, give them a double chance for development, see.

33. (Q) How shall those people approached? (A) Personally.

34. (Q) By whom? (A) Rice.

35. (Q) Should Dr. J. D. Finley of Altoona, Pa., be approached? (A) He should be hedged, you see. This one, the real head. Should not be without owning some of the stock, you see, through this channel rather than through the byway.

36. (Q) Will Dr. Finley accept the head of this Company? (A) Just as we have given, see, with the knowledge that he may have the direct assistance of Rice in the development with the assistance of [257] without the aggressiveness of [257] shown, see, he will.

37. (Q) Has he handled himself properly since coming to Altoona in the business way? (A) Very good. Do not be too self important. Let others share some of the developing glory, see.

38. (Q) To whom is this especially referred to, Mr. Cayce? (A) To [257].

39. (Q) I mean in what connection with other people? (A) To all people.

40. (Q) Should he employ the lawyer that he has in mind? (A) That would produce combative forces. No.

41. (Q) Who would you recommend, Mr. Cayce? (A) Under the same plans under which it is being developed at present.

42. (Q) Should the connection with B. D. Townsend of Denver be maintained as in the past? (A) Not just as in the past. Let B. D. Townsend understand that he is only needed as to real service rendered. He needs this Company as much as the Company needs him.

257-1 Page 6

43. (Q) Is Townsend an asset to the Company? (A) We haven't changed as from what we have just given. Townsend needs the Company as well as the Company needs Townsend.

44. (Q) Who should make the suggestion to him? (A) That will have to come from Rice and [257] and not from any one individual.

45. (Q) Should he go before the Altoona bankers as suggested by Dr. Finley? (A) Very good, but make Finley lead.

46. (Q) When should this be done? (A) On return of Rice here.

47. (Q) How should Rice approach Dr. Finley? (A) Just as has been planned, that as we have given. He must have some of the stock of the Penn-Tenn, and he must become the head of that stock and stocks of the other, also.

48. (Q) How should Rice use the connection he now has with these forces to aid him in raising the money for the financing of the Penn-Tenn? (A) With those of finance that give the direct touch to those individuals interested in the developing of the sincerity of forces, and that have the worldly and mental goods to back those up, see. In these he has left his best chances behind - Rice.

49. (Q) How far will the forces help him? (A) Lay them before his door. He must pick them up or leave them. Show him where but not to take it away.

50. (Q) How much is he privileged to ask for? (A) They will give it themselves direct, see.

51. (Q) Should the physical readings be given while the business is being handled? (A) They may be given, but not handled together.

52. (Q) What about the associations of Rice and [257] and Cayce - are they based on a firm foundation that will carry all to success? (A) There are some things that should be understood better, these for the underlying success. The three should work together as a triangle, because a triangle forms better unison than a circle, because a circle may be easily disintegrated or broken.

53. (Q) Is the Guaranteed Securities Fuel Corporation of South Dakota a good name for the Company? (A) Better of Delaware, then both will be handled under one head, see, however separate.

54. (Q) Will it be advisable to use the old charter or draw up a new one? (A) New one.

257-1 Page 7

55. (Q) Should the par value be no par value or Ten Dollars ($10.00)? (A) Par Value. Ten dollars ($10.00).

56. (Q) Should [257] suggest that he receive additional stock for his service? (A) As service rendered, yes.

57. (Q) Should he draw a stipulated salary? (A) Yes.

58. (Q) What should that salary be? (A) We do not give those. It should be for services rendered, here. It must be with his own forces.

59. (Q) Will Five Hundred ($500.00) a month be a right fee to expect? (A) We have just given that.

60. (Q) Regarding the New York trip of Rice and Edgar Cayce, who is in this room, was there any advantage to that trip? (A) Yes and no. The lines as given were let go unheeded by Rice, see. They do not go back.

61. (Q) What was accomplished by the trip? (A) Further developments may show.

62. (Q) Why wasn't more accomplished? (A) Aggressive forces to those, who were interested, were not carried to the finish.

63. (Q) Can [257] then use that line and be successful with it? (A) He can, but we have given the work of [257]. Do not attempt to do that, that others are more capable of doing.

64. (Q) What should have been the system used in interviewing the people? (A) To have followed and used the leads and reins given, not quit on half forces, see.

65. (Q) What impression was made on Mr. D. W. Pye? (A) Very good, then lost by not answering the telephone, this morning.

66. (Q) Will a telegram straighten this matter up? (A) No. He has left. It will be through other channels, which will come.

67. (Q) Should Edgar Cayce then take this matter up? (A) Not further than has been done.

68. (Q) What was Mr. Pye's reply to Mr. Cayce? (A) That, he had rather not put on paper, but will tell him personally, when he sees him again, which will be in about two or three weeks.

69. (Q) Should Edgar Cayce return to Texas or remain in Altoona? (A) When operations are begun in Texas, return.

70. (Q) Should Edgar Cayce handle the field operations? (A) Not capacitated to.

71. (Q) What should Edgar Cayce do with the Company? (A) Assist in many ways in the developing of the finance of

257-1 Page 8

the Company and the financing of the fields. In this he may be both assistance. The individual field might be handled by Edgar Cayce, see, but as a whole, no.

72. (Q) What connection should be between Edgar Cayce and [257]? (A) As fields develop, as the expansion of conditions develop, those connections will be made and left and made and left as time goes and shows, see.

73. (Q) Should [257] ever make visits to the properties? (A) Only on extreme circumstances. Others are more capable of handling the fields.

74. (Q) Of the present organization, who should make those trips? (A) Either Cayce or one who is to be the field developing force, see, or both.

75. (Q) Should [257] visit the W. C. Smith property in Tennessee? (A) Others can handle it better than [257].

76. (Q) Should Rice be the one? (A) Not until other things are off his mind.

77. (Q) What about the second property? (A) Not at best. Let the forces be used to keep this in touch and use it in about ninety to one-hundred days.

78. (Q) Is the same thing true of the Pickett Co. holdings as Mr. Smith has written to [257]? (A) The Company should not strain itself to handle properties that are liabilities rather than assets until more assets are shown, you see. There are too many promises for developing operations to give the capital for those that are even better than some of those that have been promised, to be developed.

79. (Q) Should all the effort be placed entirely on the Texas property? (A) For the first, yes, by carrying more acreage and promise of development, rather the developing of financial assistance, rather than the development of production. Financial gain may be obtained from most of the sources, from those who are interested in the Texas properties, for it governs a vast territory under which both mail order campaign and personal contact may be reached, that is, for the financial gain. There are many in the East, many in Central, further Central and in Texas. There can be as much assistance given to the Company, that is, the whole capital paid in to the Cayce Petroleum Company. [See [3777] series.] See the reasons.

80. (Q) Should Mr. Rice attend to add to the raising of the capital by himself from a personal standpoint? (A) No, there will be others called in from time to time to meet individual cases, see. Some trouble just ahead for Rice, which will lay itself soon.

257-1 Page 9

81. (Q) Is that of a personal or business nature? (A) Personal.

82. We are through.
