1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [257], present in this room, and the dreams this body had recently which I will read to you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these. You will also tell this body, after the dreams, how he should proceed and what work he should do to aid in gathering money for the new hospital and the Association of National Investigators at Virginia Beach, Va. Also answer questions in reference to the health and other conditions of the body.

2. EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]. This we have had here before. The dreams, as we see, come to individuals through various phases of conditions mental and physical, and through the various forms of relative conditions with actions and conditions physical and mental with the body, and in these various ways present to the body those conditions that are as actions in the life, as guides to the mental attitude - for, as is seen, we build a body-physical, a body-mental and the soul-body, through the experiences in the earth's plane. With the subjugation of the material, the mental body, the astral body may give - through the various experiences of the mental body - various conditions as emblematical or guides to the action in the various conditions as are presented to a body.

3. In this particular body and its experiences in the visions, dreams, or those conditions as are presented to the mental body in such subjugated conditions, these come in a form and manner that is different in some respects from experiences of many - for, as given, the body has those mental and spiritual guides in and through the mental, the cosmic, the spiritual, the physical plane that often bear weight with that experienced in such conditions. Ready for dream.

4. (Q) Of recent date. Saw W... home on S. Limestone Street. It was empty and I bought it. We were visiting

257-22 Page 2

there for the summer and I felt it should not have been bought, because if it was good W... would have kept it for and investment - they had more money than I did. (A) This, as we see, in this emblematical way and manner presented to the individual at the time those conditions respecting certain investments the body contemplated making. As was seen by that indicated, those that were interested with same, or the individual wished to interest with self as respecting same was not well. Had this BEEN well, circumstances surrounding it would have been different, even as seen. The entity will hark back to those conditions and it be pointed out as to what is meant.

5. (Q) We were all sitting around and in came a lot of guests. Clemmie W... handed me a newspaper clipping and a note - the newspaper was of the war and my picture was in it, with my helmet and uniform on, and a big story about me. G. L. H. grabbed it out of my hand and it made me angry. I said, "He's always doing things like that, acting smart," and my mother said, "Don't talk so loud - he'll hear you," and I said "I don't care if he does - he ought not do it." Lawrence, his son, came in with a new wife and introduced her to (my wife) [903] - we then went with him to his chemical laboratory and the chemist handed him a little bottle with a long manuscript, and I said, "What's that?" The chemist said, "It's the history of his life, just what to do and how." It had about ten paragraphs - it was beautifully written. Then my father came. I was accosting the boys for not doing business at the store, and [2588] said, "We never advertise - how can we do business?" I was telling how we advertised in New York and results were so big. Dad said, "You go and tell them we had a better location for a bank than Mrs. Sleath's corner," and I did, when all of the sudden I saw a new building and a street car leading just along the house, and the car just missed it and I hopped off, and I said, "You cannot get ahead of the [257]'s," and a new city grew up all around it - the new place. My father then said, "It's funny how things change. You remember the fine almonds we used to get. Mrs. Bob [...] came in today and left the almonds and on our way home she said, 'I don't want trade - I have the finest nuts in town and I want cash. Those are Mrs. Bob [...]'s brand, none finer, and I want Mrs. Bob [...]'s cash,' very arrogantly - and I had to pay her - it seems the rich people pay her so much she does not want to sell us now." (A) In this we find there are many varying circumstances presented to the body-consciousness for the consideration of

257-22 Page 3

the mental forces of the body. First in that presented, as is seen, these are in an EMBLEMATICAL way and manner, yet they each present the varying conditions in the life of the individual. In the first we find the paragraph and the picture represents a portion of the life, and there is seen that this represents that particular portion in which there was the specific development regarding associations and the ability to make self agreeable in the various surroundings and conditions; yet, as is presented by the individual resenting that being said, that TOO MUCH of this may bring to the body condemnation in a way and manner that riles the body and, as such, creates through that feeling poisons that PHYSICALLY or mentally are not good for the body; yet the warning from the guide in the physical plane prevents much of that bringing about those detrimental conditions that might come from same, unless the physical body heeds to such conditions. In that seen as respecting the house, the town, the building, those conditions in which the father presents to the body-consciousness that condition in which that, with the applying of the abilities of the body in the right direction, there is no need of any surpassing the entity in the applying of those abilities as are capable of being meted out or enacted by the body in its attempt to make the success through material planes as this entity may. Yet, as is seen, each tempered with that presented in the latter portion of the vision as respecting that specially needed for those varying conditions which present themselves for the body's understanding, just as the almonds represent a certain characteristic necessary for the mental and spiritual and physical development to succeed with certain classes, individuals, conditions. Then the entity, in applying all of these, finds that though success may have been obtained in the various experiences, and though the body physically and mentally may surpass all of those with whom the body may be thrown, cast, or with whom he labors, yet there is that necessity of having ever before self that high moral point and view that is of the spiritual nature that leads to that ever LIVING force, that no condemning forces may enter in from any source. Apply these in the daily life, in the daily experience, for these are as experiences, and by comparison - through the various mental attitudes and conditions - the entity gains that necessary understanding to make of self the better husband, the better son, the better neighbor, the better servant of all.

6. (Q) Went to a party and as we entered [900] passed at the edge of the crowd, saw me - said "Hello [257]" with his head down and very sheepishly, and he passed out of room. [See 257-20 in re [900] & EC Work.] (A) This presenting, in this emblematical way and manner, the attitude of the individual towards conditions in the life of each. Applying same to the benefit of self, WELL that the body-consciousness BE in that way of knowing the sorrow, the shame, that is felt in the consciousness of each as respecting the conditions which exist. For each should feel and know that, though the world may appear large, there is not sufficient room in same for strife among those who would serve PROPERLY those forces that are to build in the life of each, for in humbleness of heart, in humbleness of purpose must EACH present himself as WHOLLY to blame for every element that may bring the seed of strife, and there can be no perfect union of strength with strife existent.

7. (Q) Should [257] call [900] up? (A) Well, if the body so desires - yes.

8. (Q) Should the body take the Kreidos treatment for his hair [baldness] twice a week - which is an electrical application? (A) Be very well - be very good, though if the body would use those conditions as have been given for the body, IN the way and manner as has been GIVEN, be better - though the body may feel within self there is not sufficient time for the body to apply same; then have it done electrically.

9. (Q) What can the body use at home to save his hair and grow new hair? (A) The oil, the Vaseline, the alcohol.

10. (Q) Should the body have work done on his teeth? (A) Yes, there's some work needs to be done on the teeth. A little care will save a lot of trouble later on.

11. (Q) What exercises should the body take, and when? (A) In the evenings, would the body take five minutes of the lower circular motion of body, this would prove to be the most beneficial of all, reducing the girth, giving the better strength, and relaxing the muscles of the shoulders, head, and taking the blood supply to the lower portions of body. Place feet against wall, or some substantial place, and hands on floor - circle the body one way, then the other, three to five minutes each evening, just before retiring. No use to take one and then skip five days, or three days. A continual keeping up of this for periods of two to three weeks will prove efficient for the body.

12. (Q) What food and when should body eat? (A) Do not eat when worried. Do not eat when mentally overtaxed. Do not eat when body is very tired. Eat the

257-22 Page 5

foods in season and of the place the body is in.

13. (Q) Should body invest in New York or New Jersey real estate for benefit of self and dependents? (A) Very well. Long Island good. Jersey not so fast, but safe and sound. New York still slower, still very good for a great length of time.

14. (Q) What part of New York or New Jersey? (A) Any portion. The upper parts of the city, of course, the greater are the benefits.

15. (Q) How should [257] proceed and what work should he do to aid in gathering money for the new hospital and the Association of National Investigators at Virginia Beach, Va? [See 257-20.] (A) First the body physically and mentally should sell the PLAN of operations, or of conducting same, to self. If that is satisfactory, and the body desires the full cooperation in that direction, then proceed along the lines as are set forth there. Many individuals, many groups may be induced and interested by the body, mentally and physically, toward the work of the Association. Talk big figures. He's efficient in this - talk them for the institution!

16. (Q) How can the wife of [257], present in the room [903], get to David Belasco on the work? (A) The associations have been such that only an appointment is necessary that the body meet this body.

17. (Q) Is it advisable to see him at once? (A) See him at ANY period, for the body is especially interested in phenomena of the nature as would be presented by this body - the wife.

18. (Q) Would Al Jones also be interested in the work? (A) Be interested, but from a different angle entirely. Jones would see more of what JONES might make than what Jones might gain from same.

19. (Q) How would Belasco consider it? (A) As a study, and eventually as a hobby.

20. (Q) Lionel Barrymore? (A) Barrymore - Barrymore - this easy! [See 5756-5.] These - consider same from the purely philosophical standpoint, and not wholly a metaphysical act. Rather from the student's viewpoint, and eventually as a haven for those who are disabled, or unable to care for selves - for through these sources there may be builded that in which there would be the consideration of the profession as a whole holding a portion as the eventual residence of those aged, or disabled, or distressed.

257-22 Page 6

21. (Q) Would it be advisable to go through Berk Simon to see Mr. Belasco? Would he also be interested? (A) Might be well, but not absolutely necessary. Do not wait for such chances or channels, unless the individual finds same barring the approach - then take the approach along with you!

22. (Q) Would it be better to present the work by letter to Mr. Belasco, or see him in person? (A) In person.

23. (Q) When should Edgar Cayce join us in New York to meet these people? (A) When the time comes that these people demand an audience with such.

24. (Q) Should [257] approach his people at once for memberships or donations? (A) Both. There are individuals that may only be handled as people seeking for benefits through the Association and the work of same. There are those who may be approached as to the ability to assist others to receive benefits through such sources, and build at the same time for self in an educational way and manner. Do not approach all in the same way and manner. First sell self - the selling of others approached in the same way and manner as any good business proposition. ALL are not sold in the same way and manner. One may be sold over a cup of tea. Another will be sold over a sick bed. Another may be sold over the differentiation between conscious, subconscious, or superconscious, and such.

25. We are through for the present.
