1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [257], of Irving Furniture Factories, 206 Lexington Ave., N.Y. City, and his associations with Ben Lauterstein and Irving H. Isaacs of this same address, and Louis Francis Superintendent Carolina Products Co., Asheville, N.C., also associations with the General Electric Co. of Schenectady, N.Y., at its purchasing and engineering office, Brandes Products Corporation at Newark, N.J., at their business offices, and Henry Roberts, 1338 So. Michigan Boul., Chicago, Ill., and advise according to the questions with complete working details.
2. EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]. This we have had before, also those relations and prospective relations with the various individuals and institutions - many of these we have had here before. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Give resume of conditions for business for Radio Cabinets for each month of 1928. (A) This in itself would be more than we would give from here - yet we will find, as has been given, more than half the year will be good radio cabinet business and radio business, but about the middle there will be such changes as will make it unwise to load or overload - after August. That should be sufficient for radio business.
4. (Q) How does Louis Francis now regard body since recent trip? (A) This would be hard even to illustrate, yet we find there is quite a difference in the attitude. Yet [257] would do well to watch Francis, as far as their association would be concerned.
5. (Q) How can [257] bring about a closer relation and understanding? (A) Depends upon whom he wants the understanding and close relation with.
6. (Q) With Louis Francis. (A) This may be accomplished as business and conditions progress, but do not try or attempt to overDO the thing! Rather meet each individual with that condition, as is, that each are necessary in their own field - not out of it!

7. (Q) What did [257] accomplish by bringing Francis to Chicago? (A) This has been helpful - yet doubtful whether the final reaction from same will be as satisfactory as the first anticipations of each has been concerning same; for there are others that feel that [257] oversteps in some of the actions, especially with those handling the production.
8. (Q) Should [257] take him to Schenectady? (A) Be very well. Better take Roberts.
9. (Q) Was the approach to representatives of General Electric at Asheville properly made? (A) Very good. This should work out, properly handled, to the benefit of all concerned.
10. (Q) What is the next step to get business from them? (A) Keep in touch - keep every loop fastened, yet do not PUSH the matter too fast. Well to present the various propositions to the buying office at Schenectady. Well to take one or more of those associated in the building and in the planning for such output.
11. (Q) How can [257] be successful in handling this business? (A) Handling it in the way and manner as has often been given [257] to handle individuals.
12. (Q) When will [257] get his first order? Advise. (A) When they are ready to deliver it! Apparently it will be in March.
13. (Q) When should [257] approach Gilbert at Brandes Products Co., 200 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Newark, N.J., for business? (A) In February.
14. (Q) What plan will be most acceptable to Gilbert and associates? (A) Much of the same plan upon which the construction has gone forward from these same individuals or associates.
15. (Q) When will [257] get his first order? (A) Rather be ready for the order than to GETTIN' the order. Be ready to deliver same in the way and manner as is desired by the individuals. Preferable have THESE in shape first. Then the body may obtain the order for same.
16. (Q) Should [257] attempt to interest General Electric selling organization, known as Radio Corporation of America, at New York? (A) Rather through their own channels; for remember - while large individuals or large corporations are handled by individuals, and these are as easy to handle as small ones; yet well first to be well in the good graces - not as BUYING the place! but as MERITING the good graces of the purchasing portion of the corporation. Forget not, the size of same is much larger than all the combined forces of many with whom [257] may EVER be associated with!
17. (Q) How should approach be made?
257-25 Page 3
(A) Approach has BEEN made. Then keep that up.
18. (Q) Thru whom should approach be made? (A) That through whom and through those that approach HAS been made, or directly then to the purchasing agents or forces of same.
19. (Q) What original selling plan can [257] put forward to interest this selling organization in using Federal Factories to manufacture? (A) Rather this should be delayed in presenting any new condition, until they (the Electric's) are through with some of the experimenting with radio conditions, and then there will be special cabinets and special projections that will be in the LINE of the manufacturing through these lines. Hence prepare self by keeping in touch and in a way so that the body may be able to supply the needs of those that are then ready to purchase same.
20. (Q) What arrangement should [257] make with Henry Roberts for selling Radio Cabinets? (A) Henry Roberts is very good in many lines and, handled properly (though not bought), the body would prove one well worth having associated with the selling end of cabinets or of ANY business of radio or furniture manufacturing.
21. (Q) Will Roberts and [257] be successful in this arrangement? (A) Handled properly, be very successful. Each would!
22. (Q) Should cabinets be manufactured in advance and stored? (A) No!
23. (Q) What price range will be successful? (A) Those of the medium more successful, though - as has been given - be careful of any after the middle of year.
24. (Q) Should Roberts move to New York? Advise him how to start his plan of operation to sell and make cabinets. (A) That is up to the individual. We would NOT advise him!
25. (Q) Is [257] doing best for himself by not urging firm to make settlement for past four years' commission due? (A) This has often been outlined to the body, as to how to handle same. We would not advise differently from that already given.
26. (Q) Advise him as to what protective measures for his complete satisfaction and his associates? (A) That has been given also, in how that the body should ever keep in touch and be able to at ANY period walk into other positions!
27. (Q) How is he regarded by Isaacs and Lauterstein now? (A) Much in the same way and manner as has been outlined heretofore. The conditions as have happened recently have neither raised nor lowered the thought of the entity, yet has caused much discussion.

28. (Q) In what way has [257] developed during past year 1927 and how can he further develop? (A) In the ways as have been outlined for the body. These are good until his fifty-odd year.
29. That is all the questions.
30. We are through for the present.
