1. GC: You will have before you [257], his enquiring mind and those conditions and circumstances as surround the body regarding his business relations and associations, and you will answer the questions I will ask you regarding same in a definite, specific manner, slowly and distinctly.
2. EC: We have the body and the inquiring mind, [257], and the conditions surrounding same. This we have had before. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Should [257] go to St. Louis at request of E. W. Grove? (A) He should.
4. (Q) What should [257] say to Grove since [257]'s plans are not complete? (A) State conditions as exist and there will be counter propositions by Grove. Then bring Grove to New York to consummate or to get outlined definite propositions. Being with Grove will cement the relations between [257] and Grove that there may be no misunderstanding in the final proposition and arrangements made.
5. (Q) Should [257] induce Grove to come to New York before he goes away for his summer on the 29th of June? (A) As given.
6. (Q) Wertheim doesn't want Grove or [257] to head the company as laid out in last reading. What steps should [257] take in this regard? (A) Make conditions satisfactory for those, as has been outlined; that is, for Grove and [257].
7. (Q) Should [257] allow his lawyer to present proposition to Leaman Bros. today? (A) Not until another conference with Grove or until Grove is present to outline a definite proposition.
8. (Q) Can any one queer deal for [257] with Grove's mind in present state? (A) No. Keep it that way. That may change but keep it that way.
