1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [257], present in this room, and his associations and relations with the Paris Medicine Co., and bankers, Grove, New York group, Mann, Zonite, Hutton, Gen. McRoberts, and other interests, deals and associations of [257], such as Richard Roth, Judge Smith, Consolidated Cigar, and furniture interests. You will answer the questions which we will ask you regarding all of these.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257] - this we have had before, and many of associations, relations, and conditions. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Have negotiations been properly started by [257]'s visit to McRoberts? (A) As we find, the proper negotiations for the ultimate sale, transfer, and conditions as in relation to same, have been, and will be, started properly, through this connection.
4. (Q) What should [257] have done that he did not do, if anything? (A) Under the conditions, circumstances, we do not find there has been, as yet, a misstep in the handling of the conditions.
5. (Q) Tell [257] how to further urge the General without being too persistent? (A) As has been given, this has been started properly. Be persistent, but do not make same in such a way and manner as to become a PEST, but be persistent with the negotiations. Do not endanger self's position by over anxiety, nor by making too broad, nor do not make THREATENING statements as to going to others. Rather let this approach be from the other source, than from self.
6. (Q) The General has asked [257] to advise him on a furniture deal. Is that a good approach, to incidentally discuss the Paris Medicine Company deal? (A) Good approach.
7. (Q) Will [257] be successful in handling this matter to the General's satisfaction?
257-59 Page 2
(A) As we find, the OUTGROWTH of it would be satisfactory. This, as we see at present, may terminate VERY suddenly, or may be somewhat of a long drawn out condition, caused by some of the conditions as have to do with the re-financing of a portion of the furniture situation.
8. (Q) How does Grove feel about the price now? (A) Some concessions may be made by Grove.
9. (Q) What will he be willing to take? (A) Between the 18 and 22.
10. (Q) Should [257] plan to visit him in the near future? (A) In passing, would be well. As specific, unless asked BY Grove, would be unwise.
11. (Q) Will Grove attempt to cut [257]'s million dollar bonus, which is in addition to the $490,000 commission? (A) Not as yet. No indications of it.
12. (Q) What should [257] do now to protect his interest in every way, so if Grove attempts or does make an outside deal [257] will be protected? (A) This, as we find, is not apt to be made as yet, and under the existent agreement [257] IS protected, unless [257] gives either verbally or writtenly a release from the conditions; unless opened, or negotiations ARE opened by others, and this is the safe condition or position to be in at the present.
13. (Q) When will the stock market be strong enough to absorb the stock issue necessary to put deal over? (A) In September or October. Latter part of September and October, as we find, will be a strong market.
14. (Q) Should [257] arrange to meet E. F. Hutton who is principal banker of Zonite? (A) Be well.
15. (Q) When would be the best time to do it? (A) As he returns from the business deal in which he is involved in the present.
16. (Q) What other type of medicine company will Zonite be interested to purchase this year? (A) We do not find any PARTICULAR one, or type, at this present time. It has been determined by some that these will be the end, for the PRESENT time.
17. (Q) Have they determined to include Paris Medicine Company before closing new purchases? (A) This is included so far.
18. (Q) Give proper month for closing Paris Medicine deal, considering all conditions and all principals? (A) October.

21. (Q) Should [257] consider joining force or organization of Zonite? (A) Little later may consider same. Not at present.
22. (Q) Would that aid putting over deal? (A) Not at present.
23. (Q) What statements should [257] make to other finance people who know of deal, when they ask what is status of deal? (A) Still under negotiations.
24. (Q) What is attitude of Isaac Orr of the St. Louse Union Bank as to price they would accept? (A) There would be some consideration given by Isaac Orr and associates.
25. (Q) Will they accept part stock and cash, or must it be all cash deal? (A) Part stock.
26. (Q) What stock would it be? (A) Zonite stock, or of some of those of the holdings of the Zonite.
27. (Q) Should [257] discuss deal with G. F. Willis of Atlanta, Ga., who is a successful medicine man, with a view of getting his interest to push present interested parties? (A) Not as yet.
28. (Q) Should General consider combining with McKesson and Robbins, the Paris Medicine Co.? (A) It's a very good consideration, but there will be many changes that will be necessary before there can be made any combine.

31. (Q) What will Radio Common do in the next 60 days? (A) A variation for at least 18 to 20 points. This will mean up and down, to be sure, but be a variation of that much.

33. (Q) Jerry Danzig? [Jerome J. Danzig] (A) Danzig or Moss either.
34. (Q) Should Sears Roebuck be purchased now for a 30 day turn? (A) Be a longer pull than 30 days for any material change, unless there are changes, as we find, that are not imminent at present.
35. (Q) Will [257] be successful with his present deal with Sears Roebuck? (A) Will require at least 14 months work.
36. (Q) Will he continue selling them cabinets, as he is now doing? (A) It seems that he will. There are many changes, you see, in this - and these are constant changes. There may be those of force or in power that don't know [257].
37. (Q) Should [257] attempt to meet other people at once? (A) Keep those always under mind.
38. (Q) What divisions are they in, that [257] should know? (A) These will arise in their proper order, and in their proper time. Keep all of these that are being held, and work into the various ones and changes as are coming about.
39. (Q) [257] Believes he has begun a new three year cycle and again comes for advice as to whether he should continue with present firm, Albert Pick & Co., or precede to establish himself with other interests. (A) In the changes as may come, or that are IN the making at the present, these, as we find, will make for a natural development into associations and connections that would be for a very advantageous position, or the growth an the associations of those with whom the body has associated THROUGH this association will make for the natural growth as will come with these. Do not be hasty, but be patient and long-suffering, yet keeping an eye single to service in the manner as has been oft given.

257-59 Page 5
much in the manner as has been outlined. Not an eye singleness to please Lauterstein, that the association may be well, but with an eye singleness of SERVICE to those to whom [257] and Lauterstein in their abilities [as contacts, associates and relationships] will be of service - both to those to whom approaches WOULD be made and in the various combinations as would be well to be drawn out for the services to a general class and mass as a whole.
