1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [257], present in this room, especially pertaining to Paris Medicine Co. with all its connections, and the preparation called Atomodine. You will answer the questions which will be asked concerning these; and also regarding the Automatic Insurance Vending Machine and other business associations.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257], present in this room, and his associations and relations.

3. As regarding Paris Medicine Company, there have come changes even since last we had same here. There is almost the time up as has been given as to when there might be expected some definite actions or steps taken as respecting same. Negotiations have been under way with different groups, different individuals. These, as we find, must eventually come back to many of the same channels through which, as has been given, these are to be handled, or individual advice as relating to the handling of, or placing of securities as collateral, or the various payments as are to be made in the various settlements as pertaining to same. These, as we find, should - in the present changes, or changed groups - apparently work themselves to a position where some definite action may soon be taken as respecting same.

4. In relation to Atomodine, this - as we have seen before [1734-1, Par. 22-A--33-A on 3/19/30?, 1734-2, 1734-3?] - while in a condition or position for distribution, in a manner - is not a PERFECTED article as to its greater worth; yet this may be distributed as an INDIVIDUAL article of value or may be combined with others in the distribution of same, as to make it of value in the distribution or sale of same. In those necessary changes, as WE would find to make it more a valuable article, would be in some of the preparations or compounds as they are put together. Were those properties of the iodine in its original state shot through with so many volts of electric current, THEN its combination and its usefulness as a non-poisonous article in

257-69 Page 2

the combination would be made. This has been outlined before, yet NOT understood. Necessary that some laboratory tests be made as to just the quantity, or just the quality, of the product before its combination in the boiling together. [9/10-11/31 See 358-1 & 358-2; 1734-5 on 10/30/31; 358-5 on 11/2/33, 358-6.]

5. In those matters of the insurance vending machine [See 4904-1 & 4904-2 on 11/13/30 & 1/26/31], as we find, that necessary is the completion of the machine for the distribution of the product, or of the papers themselves. This, as we find, may be done in what may be termed a very SHORT time, and the product ready for the giving of the demonstrations in a manner in which will enable those interested in same becoming sufficiently interested to take hold in a manner that in a few years will be a REAL article of value in the distribution of insurance, in the way of protection of the layman, and quite an EFFECTIVE way and manner. [See 4904-3 on 6/20/31.] Ready for questions.

6. (Q) Will these negotiations of Paris Medicine affect the status of [257]'s commission, if they go through? (A) Affect only as a proportionate ratio.

7. (Q) Herbert Turrell of N. Y. wrote me to see Diebold of Drug, Inc., for sale of Paris Medicine Co. Should I go direct or go through McRoberts? (A) Be well to go through McRoberts.

8. (Q) When would be best day of coming week? (A) As soon as it may be made convenient with McRoberts.

9. (Q) On what basis and price is Diebold willing to buy the Paris Medicine Co.? (A) On a twenty-two valuation of proceeds or profits shown.

10. (Q) We don't quite understand the twenty-two. (A) Well, think it over - you understand it!

11. (Q) What decision has been reached by Orr as to selling at 10 times earnings of company? (A) There are some conditions as arising with the company, as relation with Orr, that if a definite proposition can be made any time in the very near future, it would be well.

12. (Q) What is Edwin Grove's personal decision as to amount of new purchase price? (A) It may be taken for the eighteen.

13. (Q) What are the average earnings at the present time? (A) Sufficient to make this a reasonable price.

14. (Q) Advise me when to go to St. Louis, considering all circumstances and Radio show in Chicago. (A) That's one reason why the negotiations should be made through other individuals, that they may not interfere with those other activities of the body, but that these may be

257-69 Page 3

carried on so that a definite offer may be made from figures as prorata to the earnings, as has been laid out before. Then, when the body is ready to offer a proposition, go to St. Louis!

15. (Q) Is there any other concern besides Diebold that I should see at once? (A) This would be the correct channel we see at the present, though we may come back to some of those others already considered, for they will have a tie-up with these same institutions, you see.

16. (Q) Should I suggest to Gen. McRoberts to see E. F. Hutton or Ellery Mahn of Zonite? (A) Be very WELL, for these should not be DISREGARDED; for there are conditions that have arisen - and are arising - that would make a change in these conditions, you see, as respecting these individuals' attitude; though they do not - then go ahead, but be well for this to be handled through McRoberts on account of associations, as well as promises, as well as holdings - as has been seen.

17. (Q) Would Hutton be interested in a consolidation of Zonite & Paris Medicine and Household Products? (A) Not in the present. This may come later; not in the present, as we see.

18. (Q) What should Seeley do at the present time to help [257]? (A) As we find, that of connections or contacts may be made helpful.

19. (Q) Should Seeley phone Orr again? (A) Not just yet. Let's have a proposition!

20. (Q) Regarding Atomodine - Who would be willing to spend sufficient money to properly advertise this product? (A) Either in a combination with some others, as of Lambert, or some of the pharmaceutical preparations or companies that may - or DO - make a specialty of such products. As we have seen, this may be made better were this feature as given considered.

21. (Q) How can we improve Atomodine to contain 95% pure iodine similar to Bohlander's iodine of Cincinnati, yet not be toxic or poisonous or irritant? (A) We have just given it!

22. (Q) What process or formula can be used to produce 95% iodine that is non-toxic, non-irritant, non-poisonous? (A) That's already being used! It belongs to someone else! We have given a preparation that is in a condition TO be added to others to make it of good use! Why be greedy and take somebody else's?

23. (Q) What is best approach for purchase of Bohlander's iodine business of Cincinnati, and for what price could it

257-69 Page 4

be bought? (A) Direct to the individuals themselves, or those interested in same; for while this product is of value and doing WONDERFULLY in some directions, there are troublesome times with some of these at the present. Not that you take ADVANTAGE of same, but you can do a help to some.

24. (Q) In what is iodine soluble? (A) Alcohol.

25. (Q) Can it be used in different solutions? (A) Under different preparations, it may.

26. (Q) How can I save the Orsenigo Co. by quick action, whether by consolidation or a new business, and where can I get it, as conditions are very serious now? (A) As we find, would be better through that of new business, which would be through government associations in the changes; especially in those of Post Office buildings where furnishings are for both those of interior offices and the outer offices in same.

27. (Q) Who is the best man to contact on that now in New York? (A) That one who may be closest to or direct to the third assistant postmaster general!

28. (Q) Is it advisable for me to go in partnership with Henry Sadaca in the food business, as suggested by Sadaca? (A) Not right at present, though this may prove very good a little bit later.

29. (Q) Will Sadaca be successful in getting the Russian contract for the sale of candies in America? (A) Not unless there are a great many changes in those things that stand in to prevent same; which comes under those that have to do with the labor laws.

30. (Q) Is there any stock that the Forces will advise me to buy now or next? (A) No.

31. (Q) How can I help Edgar Cayce to get funds for his present emergency? [Work:EC.] (A) Personal solicitation would be the better; not as BEGGING, no - rather that as necessary to those through whom aid has come from and through those sources or channels.

32. (Q) What should I do to help the Zero-Zone proposition to make quick profit and larger sales? (A) Just sell the stuff! These contacts may be made in various portions of the country where CONTACTS or CONTRACTS have already been broached or made, see? Then, in these go direct - not necessarily at all times in person, but by letter, of the desire to be of aid to that individual or group, to assist them in THEIR needs at the present time of establishing an association or connection that will enable

257-69 Page 5

them to deliver, see? When necessary, and the territory as covered for distribution of same would justify, then a personal visit would be well; otherwise, those form letters - not as a FORM, but rather as a form TO the individuals, see, of their INDIVIDUAL needs, would be helpful.

33. (Q) What should I have done that I didn't do to have gotten the government contract on furniture? (A) Stayed closer to the man who is able to give same! and go back to it at present, see?

34. (Q) Who is the best man for me to stay closest to of the three? (A) That one who has made the approach to the body for assistance, or for helping same.

35. (Q) Is he now in Washington? (A) Well, we don't see him around here! His office is here, you see.

36. (Q) Which is the best man to work with now to get the refrigerator contracts which will be let next? (A) These would come later; that is, for the body to approach it the better, would be through that of the quartermaster's forces, that pertain to those divisions where, with the changes in the new directions, you see - whether it comes to the armies, or whether it comes to the navies, or whether it comes to the various posts - THESE would be the channels and the way in which to reach those.

37. (Q) Is Senator Smoot's son a proper man for me to work with in Washington? (A) Very good, and very capable in it for the whole thing there all the way through!

38. (Q) Is he the man you refer to on the furniture? (A) Man referred to on the furniture. See, this was the one that OFFERED to assist, and yet was passed over in a manner for a condition that didn't apparently seem to be in the right line at that time.

39. (Q) Of all the enterprises that I am working with, to which one should I give my personal attention and the most individual work and time, to assure my future success? (A) The vending machine [4904] at the present, if given the personal time, will make the largest returns and the long one, with the least amount of work for the body!
