Time of Reading 11:30 to 12:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
1. GC: You will have before you the bodies and enquiring minds of [257] and [384], present in this room, and their associates and business interests. Please guide them as to the proper handling of the Harris Color in every detail, in order that they can successfully organize this business. They will also ask questions on this and their other propositions.
2. EC: Yes, we have the bodies, the enquiring minds, [257] and [384], present in this room, with some propositions and relations.
3. In respect to the handling of the proposition Harris Color, this as we have had, and as we have indicated - we find to be an unusual and a very worth while proposition to be considered. The immensity of the proposition as related to the revolutionizing of the very facts of the proposition itself, then, makes the possibilities become astounding.
4. Hence, as we have indicated, the associations or connections with Warner Stewart-Warner - are not, as we find, other than a stepping-stone; provided it may be used in such a manner and not tied up in any way through the association and connection.
5. For, the facilities - or the abilities in most of these associations - are not equal to the proposition.
6. To be sure, there is - there has been - so much of an investment in kindred subjects or characters; yet the simplicity (in a manner) of this varying condition that is between the two makes it such that it may not be classed in the same field of operation.
7. And, as we find, with the work and further developments in the fields of activity, it will soon demonstrate the practicability of the Harris Color or method over so much of that which has been shown in others, as to outstrip the activities.
8. This is provided, to be sure, that the activities in such are handled so as to prevent or not to have entanglements

and disagreements among those that are interested in the proposition.
9. As we have indicated, then, the better manner would be the interesting of - and activities with - the PRODUCING companies; especially the technical end of same. (This has all been given, though, before.) Not that so much of production. For, as seen and illustrated in the larger producing organization, the technical organization - or the actual work in producing or preparing, or in making - is kept separate from the distributing end of the organization.
10. Hence it should be in THAT field of activity, which will prevent the abilities - or the adaptability of the process itself - from being sidetracked or pigeonholed into one character of production.
11. For, as may be thoroughly demonstrated, the cartoons - that are at the present so very popular (and are being made more and more so, for the fill-ins for the shorts, and for inducements) - will be made such, with the Harris Color, that is practically impossible to be done in the technical - see?
12. Ready for questions.
13. (Q) Which of the larger companies should [257] approach first to promote the Harris Color? (A) As we find, the ASSOCIATED companies. See, there is an association which has come through, from the general changes that have been necessary in the last two or three years, for distribution of products, contracts and activities; though this would be worked in the technical end, see? This would be the advice. There's more money in these organizations than in any of the distributing end at present.
14. (Q) Is that Fox Film or M.G.M.? (A) It is a combination of all of these! It includes all of them! It's a national organization, see, including activities from independents as well as the larger production companies.
15. (Q) Through what man should I approach them? (A) It would be well through [437], for he is in connection with it!
16. (Q) Why did Mr. [437] say he did not know anything about Harris Color? (A) It has not been presented as yet to these in a proper manner. And he's had his own hands full!
17. (Q) Is this a good time to talk to Mr. [437], considering his troubles? (A) Good time to end some of his troubles through it! [See 437-2 and 437-5 Reports.]
18. (Q) Is it a good idea to continue my visit with Mr.
257-116 Page 3
Place of the Chase National Bank of 11 Broad St., N.Y., to get his opinion on this subject? (A) Best that as soon as possible all connected with same (the Harris Color we are speaking of now, separate from everything else) get together and UNDERSTAND their position, and decide the policy, the manner, to whom and what is to be given, how it is to be given and the way it is to be presented. THEN approach your outside man! In other words, so it is in such a way as to not leave so many flap ends - that would cause you trouble later on!
19. (Q) Would Mr. Jack Gilbert the attorney be a good man to handle the legal end? (A) Not so good.
20. (Q) Who would be better? (A) There is an associate with some of the others, that have already been interested with [384] associates, that would be better.
21. (Q) Who is that? (A) One that's been very close in some of the activities.
22. (Q) Dan Jonas or Ralph Jonas, either? (A) Dan Jonas.
23. (Q) On what basis should we suggest the companies be asked to handle same? (A) This should be worked out from the basis of the policies that may be assumed, or taken, or set by the perfected organization to handle the activities of the Harris Color. For, as seen - and as we have indicated, the proposition itself offers almost a perfect way of carrying out that presented in such a way and manner, see? that is, of making COLORS in the moving picture or ANY industry itself, see? For, remember that, the industry that is to be covered will be as much in that where there are samples of every character to be presented, as in your moving picture industry. While it doesn't sound as big, in the end it will be as equal in many things, see? And it is presented in such a way that makes for so much BETTER product for samples, for furniture, for pottery, for machinery, for all the various characters of commercial work, see? Now, to set as to what the moving picture industry would be, would be to set as in accordance with what is just and right for the use of the equipment necessary for the production of that held as an interest by the organization - and it'll run into millions and into billions!

24. (Q) Can [257] and [384] work with the other organization with whom the Harris brothers have been discussing this matter? (A) If you can't, you'd just as well turn it loose! You've got to get it together, and all be ONE!
25. (Q) What is the best way to suggest to the Harris boys, especially Joe Harris, the plans which are suggested by the Forces, to gain their whole confidence? (A) Better let [384] work it out with them; then get together and set out the whole proposition, letting it be known what's necessary. Both are sensible, and they can work it out together. It cannot be worked by this one pulling this way and that one pulling that way; it must all be from one activity.
26. (Q) Which one will Harris work with the best and easiest? (A) With [384].
27. (Q) Any suggestion to [384] as to his next meeting with Harris? (A) As soon as he can get together with him, then have him come and go over the whole proposition. Get all the ends together, all that are interested, all that have any claims or any interest in any direction. Iron them all out together. Set as to what are the policies and purposes of the organization. Then commence! One of the most BEAUTIFUL proofs of the whole thing is to try it out on the color in the animated pictures!
28. (Q) Is there any other advice on the Harris Color for [384] or [257] at this time? (A) Don't let the proposition, if possible, get away. But don't spoil self's or others' opportunities. Get it together, and they'll all thank you some day for it!
29. (Q) Regarding the beer barrels for [257] this week. (A) This has been given, as to the manner, the way, the how. If there is to be considered the proposition as a business, or the perfecting of an organization - or through an organization, do not do so without considering the sugar ends. If it is to be considered for just the one order, or one proposition, then carry it on through - and be satisfied with it. If it is to be carried on, for the larger organizations, then PERFECT the financial end of things. Then go to work!
