Time of Reading 8:05 to 8:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C. (Body & enquiring mind. Advise him what to do to keep his strength and health to go through the plans now entering, and answer the questions which he has submitted as I ask them)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before.
2. As we find regarding the health, the general physical conditions under the existent circumstances, those outlines that have been given need to be adhered to; respecting the eliminations, the care of the body respecting the tendency for nervous exhaustion, and for the carrying on in the general way and manner as we have outlined for the body.
3. When the conditions in the mental and material affairs are adjusted, that cause the exhaustion, worry, headache, cold, the physical effects will adjust themselves; or if the precautions are taken that we have so oft given in regard to the physical well-being. Without these precautions, we may expect those reactions that will make for the tendencies for an overactive circulation, conditions in the extremities, throat, head and chest, and the disturbances in digestive system.
4. Then, follow those outlines that have been given, as to precautionary measures.
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) Considering the meeting with Johnson of Universal, would it be a good decision to have [1565] handle the sale under the present situation? (A) It would be very well for the body [1565] to handle it as an individual, with [257] as an advisory. But to attempt to so adjust or straighten things around, as it were, to cover up, wouldn't be so well. Let it go through [1565], but through the regular channels.
7. (Q) Considering the publicity given in N.Y. Times, Sept. 6th, should I make any answer at all? [In re [3734] suit against me.]
257-122 Page 2
(A) This has been covered. If the statements are of such a nature as to be defamatory to the best interests of the body, and considered so by the attorneys, then only take measures or answers that would be in conformity with that type of condition.
8. (Q) Would a bankruptcy petition be the proper answer to the allegations of [3734]? (A) This has been gone over so often, as to the necessary conditions to be met. When the conditions or circumstances, or answers or rulings of the Court, are such that these may be answered properly, well and good! To be sure, as we have given, this is the way to answer all such allegations.
9. (Q) Will I be able to close the sugar barrel deal under present conditions? (A) After there has been sufficient settling in the own mind as to the proper courses to pursue, and when there has been sufficient time elapsed (that will be counted by those in charge; that is, if they know their business), then there may be those activities in these directions that would be most satisfactory.
10. (Q) Would Olvany-Eisner firm be the proper attorneys for the bankruptcy? (A) Any of them that know their business! This would be very good, if they will handle it properly! There are so many crosses and mix-ups as to the various interests represented, it makes it rather confusing to many. And it will be necessary, in such a condition, that the whole situation be OPENED.
11. (Q) What other advice should I now have, step by step, to rebuild myself, faith in myself and my future? (A) This is rather OUT of the question under the present situation. Conditions are to arise, naturally, through such activities, that are to be both troublesome and disconcerting; in any attempt to rebuild. To be sure, these may be turned over in the mind; but so doing, about one in a million would be able to prevent them from becoming confused with that already happening, or that is to happen before there would be the readiness for the foundation. Much in the same way and manner as when one would build a physical structure. When it has been determined that it is being torn down, or has been burned, or has been swept over, the FIRST consideration is to clear all grounds to CLEAR the whole situation.
257-122 Page 3
We do not begin to build before the situation is CLEARED. This, then, is step by step: First CLEAR the situation; allowing sufficient time to elapse to prevent this being forced to be re-opened again; for they can as surely reopen or prevent from being dismissed from bankruptcy, unless there is the cessation of activities of the body; not only in fact but in reality! As it has been, that they have brought these charges, these allegations. Then, if this is the decision, CLEAR the whole conditions. THEN begin with that in hand; the associations, the connections, that have already been made, as to the rebuilding of the self in a financial and material way and manner.
12. (Q) What are the allegations, and on what basis? (A) That there has been, and is being covered up, through the various holding companies, that which is the real property and moneys of [257]. And it'll be a different thing to show it to the Judge, and then show it to the Government!
13. (Q) What is the attitude of the public since [3734]'s actually demanded an arrest of me? (A) Just as given; it's a joke! And shouldn't be considered in ANY OTHER WAY by [257]! And to build or speak or talk or build it up in its own mind is detrimental, PHYSICALLY! And the body can do himself more harm by berating them, than by all that has been attempted to be done by them respecting self! For every harsh word (This the body understands, as everyone should understand; or they'll find it their experience), every unkind thing, no matter what others have done, that an individual says about or of another individual, MUST be met by self! For, only self can actually defame self.
