... Ave., Time of Reading Room 1904, 11:15 to 12:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body & enquiring mind, who seeks information, advice and guidance, as to his mental and material well-being. Questions.)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before.

2. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Please review my activities and associates of [257] Corp., for my future development mentally, spiritually, and for the business. (A) From some angles these may be viewed with impunity; from others we may find that some very wonderful associations and connections have been made. In others there have been some very trying ordeals. As to future activities, we find that such consideration would depend a great deal upon the connections that might be maintained; or the manner in which the changes that have been suggested might be followed out or maintained in the future. As to what may be accomplished, this will depend upon the approach in so many varied directions. Such a review, then, could only be given in a general - rather than a specific - manner. If the activities are to be maintained in that for which the organization first came into activity, then those connections that have been had in the middle west must be maintained in such a manner as to justify the activities being carried on so as to keep above reproach, and to maintain the credit, the standard, the standing and the activity of the organization as an organization. If there are to be changes in the associations, and in the

257-123 Page 2

individual activities of individual members of the organization in other directions, then - to be sure - conditions must be considered from a different angle. Yet, these may be made to coordinate in such a manner as to bring financial results with little of the spiritual or mental activities entering into same. But, for the better satisfaction and contentment of the organization as an organization, the basis of all must be maintained in a standard that justifies the claims that all must be maintained in a standard that justifies the claims that may be made by individuals, and that will not only gratify the needs of the material conditions but bring contentment in the activities of each one concerned.

4. (Q) Has my future success been deterred by publicity given me by [3734]'s? (A) As we have outlined, if there is builded in self animosity and a grudge, then it must deter self; for self becomes belittled by what has been stated, said, or done. If the attitude is such as to show the justification of self in all the dealings - not necessarily just by law, but for consciences' sake, mental activity, mental associations, then it may be used as a stepping-stone for better things.

5. (Q) Should I make any statement now, or will it be necessary, to aid my business recovery? (A) LIVE it, rather than state it!

6. (Q) Should I visit the credit agencies now to explain my situation, or wait until a future date; especially Dunn and Bradstreet? (A) The more explanation attempted, until there is more satisfaction gained as to the real status, the worse it would become!

7. (Q) What next move of LeRoy Mandel or Levine, attorneys for [3734], is indicated? (A) They will continue to carry on, and to carry out just those very same conditions as they have insisted! unless there is a satisfactory agreement reached!

8. (Q) Is Gilbert's and Lande's plan to keep [3734] matter separate to the last a good one, and to keep friendly with all other creditors until I can settle with them? (A) Provided it can be done. Will Mandel and Levine allow same to be done? Not hardly!

9. (Q) Will Lande be successful in proving Kentucky Estates legally formed? (A) That depends upon what is presented to show that it was carried through in its regular order.

10. (Q) When Judge McCook's ruling comes up, what moves must Lande and Gilbert be guarded against?

257-123 Page 3

(A) The manner in which the transfers were made to the Kentucky Estates; and the valuation or value received for such transfers.

11. (Q) With present outlook, will I be able to settle up as I have always wanted to do, or will it be necessary finally to go through bankruptcy? (A) This has been gone over so often, and the conditions stated as to what is necessary, we hardly see reason why this should even call forth the questioning; unless there is adherence to those things necessary there cannot ever be, in the mental abilities of the body, a satisfactory arrangement made. For, there will continue to be hagglings; continued calling from day to day, week to week, for the reports on the very things and conditions that have caused so much worry for the body in the activities. What is to hinder these from continuing to arise? Nothing! Unless they are satisfied in full!

12. (Q) Considering [Harry M.] Perlitz' claim against me for services, what grounds will I have to present to the court to disprove unjust claims by him? (A) Just the facts. Misplaced confidence!

13. (Q) Will Gould, of Limberg-Reigelman office, 15th floor at 160 B'way, be able to win a decision favorable to me? (A) Dependent upon how well these claims are presented.

14. (Q) Regarding the order for water coolers, is Lewis stalling me? or what has caused the delay? (A) Being held up, as given, in the amount of appropriations for the varied departments. These are being loosened now, and there should be a justification for expecting at least a portion of the order to go through as Lewis claims.

15. (Q) What should I do now to rush it through, and how shall I proceed? (A) It's very hard to rush appropriations through! And there will be no proceeding in the direction until it is passed on.

16. (Q) Regarding visit of Weisburgh and myself to Klausner Cooperage Co. in Cleveland last Saturday, what are the possibilities for my success with handling barrels from the Klausner factory? (A) If those things known best to self are set in regular order, that have to do with the financing end of orders and for the handling of the regular activity, the arrangements should be very satisfactory.

17. (Q) Can I fully rely upon them to deal fairly and ship merchandise of good quality? (A) The same manner in which the body deals with the

257-123 Page 4

Cooperage Co., in the same manner may there be expected the returns. If these are put on the basis of questionings (as they have been in part), there will be questionings from the Cooperage Co., and in the manner and the character of merchandise shipped.

18. (Q) Will the order for the Croft Brewing Co. of Boston be shipped on time and to Croft satisfaction? (A) The greater portion will be to Croft satisfactory and on time.

19. (Q) When should I return to Boston for balance of order of 15,000 barrels? (A) The latter part of the month, or when at least a third of the present order has been shipped.

20. (Q) What will be the result of the negotiations between myself and the sugar co. for manufacture and sale of barrels? (A) These have been approached before. We do not find conditions have changed. Some questions have arisen as to how much may be expected in the activities of [257] and associates, in relation to the distributing. But we have given as to just what is necessary for making the proper arrangements with these; and that we would follow.

21. (Q) What state should I call on first to get largest volume of business in next 60 days on barrels? (A) Those in the east. Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Ohio; these are the better.

22. (Q) Please advise proper approach and statements to make to Tromer to get promised order for barrels? (A) Just keep in the same line. This has been approached before. These conditions have not changed! It's only self's attitude that has changed!

23. (Q) What day and place should I best see him? (A) At the regular appointed time.

24. (Q) Will Tromer be satisfied with barrels made by Klausner? (A) Provided they carry the same character of timber, or that the product is in keeping with the requirements of Tromer.

25. (Q) What deliveries will he want for Jersey brewery, also Brooklyn? (A) The same as set out before. This depends, of course, upon the manner in which these are carried on. There will be the greater amount used, as given, as the season is approached for what may be termed the regular seasoning for the spring trade; which begins in October, November, and December.

26. (Q) Please review conditions that arose at Universal Cooler Co. in Detroit on Wednesday - with G. M. Johnson and conversation over phone - with Julius Kahn of Youngstown.

257-123 Page 5

Advise how I should handle situation at meeting in Youngstown on Monday or Tuesday morning. What should I say, and what promises - if any - should I make? (A) It is necessary, to be sure, that some definite time or period be set; and that should be the promise made by [257], through the associations and connections, for the straightening up of much that has been in the handling of these products. And then it will be necessary that there be some definite arrangements for the financial end of the handling of these; and that these be so arranged (as they may be handled) without producing in the minds of those interested (Johnson and Julius Kahn) that there might be entanglements, for these may be carried through without involving them in any of the entanglements, for these may be carried through without involving them in any of the entanglements that have arisen. The first review or advice, then, is to self: Are these straight, so it may be handled without entanglements? Then make the promises that these will be carried much in their regular order and line. And, as we find, these individuals are not hard to deal with, provided activities are kept in the open.

27. (Q) Will I be able to work out matter with Johnson to my best interest? (A) It should be considered that Johnson's interests as well as self's interests are to be worked out, to the best of both concerned; for, with the manner in which these have been handled, the interest of one is the interest of the other, and unless they can be considered in such a light, in such a manner, how can they be made satisfactory for the best interest of all - considering the way arrangements have stood?

28. (Q) With Julius Kahn? (A) This is on the same sort of basis. If one is worked, the other is.

29. (Q) What should I now do with Universal refrigeration, since Weisburgh will head sales at the factory? (A) These should be carried in the same way.

30. (Q) Should I make a trip on barrels throughout the country? (A) When the arrangements with self, self's associations and self's connections with the producer, are are such that there comes no entanglements with the other connections and associations of the body. When? When these arrangements are made?

257-123 Page 6

Where? Where there are the greater centers for the use of same, which are those centers where there are the needs of the various plants that are acting in the broader way - or beginning their operations for the broader field of activity. To be sure, there has been a falling off from the first requirements and needs. And it is seen that a few of the various organizations have over-stepped themselves, which makes for a very unsatisfactory condition arising gradually in this direction in some connections. Yet, this should have little or nothing to do with the body's activity. But, if conditions are set for handling the distribution of the products, and there is the ability for delivery on the proper basis and time, there would be the opportunity for the body to meet just the conditions that are arising in various portions of the country.

31. (Q) Should I call on Refrigerator accounts at same time? (A) In most places, yes; for these should be as one, as we have given ofttimes before, on special equipment.

32. (Q) What does Johnson feel about me personally now, since the [3734] situation? (A) He hasn't changed a bit, except afraid of the entanglements.

33. (Q) Am I following right plan in listening in on other propositions, or would it be better to concentrate on one and only one? Please advise fully. (A) As we have given, too many hands in the broth spoils the broth! Too many irons in the fire often allows many to burn and others not to be handled properly. Concentrate on those various activities in such a way that there will not be entanglements with self and associates in other connections. As given, first all of the old associations or connections, and matters that have disturbed - are disturbing the activities of the body, should be once and for all eliminated! Then, with a better mind, in a better frame of activity, with the confidence of those associates in every field of activity, there may be a centralization of thought on one. But with so many entanglements there can be centralization on none!

34. (Q) What effect has the past three weeks' ordeal had upon my mental and physical body? (A) It's coming out very good at present. It's been very bad in many ways and manners, in making for aggravations in quarters where the body itself has felt at times there should be more consideration given. Yet all the consideration, with an entanglement within self, would make

257-123 Page 7

for still greater demand upon self and self's abilities to remain intact, as it were, through the whole situation.

35. (Q) When will I be able to feel I am again free and clear of all my troubles, and my business on the road? (A) When you are free and clear of them! Until these are satisfied, not only - NOT ONLY - from the justification before the law, but the justification before the conscience of self!

36. (Q) Should I change the name of the [257] Corp.? If so, to what? (A) That depends upon the activities and how these are to be handled! That's a foolish question, considering all the conditions that exist. Dependent upon what is to be the activity! There is no decision in self as to what just yet is to be done! And until there is, how CAN there be a consideration as to whether it shall be changed or not! If this or this or this would happen, you would have to! If this or this or this would happen, you wouldn't have to! Then, what is the question? What is the body to do!

37. (Q) Should I sell barrels under Klausner name? If not, under what name would it be best to sell them? (A) As to how the barrel situation is set, whether with Klausner, Smith, Jones or with the Sugar Company! As we have given. We have outlined distinctly how the body should act! As to what NAME is used depends upon whom you are selling them for! The body is to act in the capacity, EVER, as the agent! Then, how can it sell under any other name except the one that's delivering them! Unless it's crystallized into an organization for this particular activity; in which case you could use any name desired!

38. (Q) Please advise me as to my spiritual development or retardment during 1933. (A) This may be best done within self, in the manners that have oft been outlined for self; in that: When ye enter into the inner self and approach the throne of grace, mercy, love, hope, is there within self that which would hinder from offering the best or seeking the best from that throne of grace? Doesn't it then become necessary that such hindrances be first laid aside? even as given of old? When thou bringest thine sacrifice, expecting to receive from that throne of grace the mercy and hope desired, hast thou shown mercy? hast thou shown love? hast thou shown consideration in the

257-123 Page 8

activities, the associations of each and every individual, whether friend or foe? For, God is no respecter of persons; but rather: He that showeth himself forward, to him He is forward. He that showeth himself little, to him He becomes little (within his own self). In the same manner that an individual shows himself worthy or unworthy does the result come in the conscious activity of self. For, as given to self often, Know Thyself and what thou believest; and to WHOM thou wouldest turn for aid, counsel and guidance. For, a few years in this mundane sphere is little compared to eternity. Be not impatient with those even that would hinder thee, from gaining something of this world's pleasures; but know, he seeks to do the biddings of the Creative Forces in a manner that is constructive, gratifies that which is the SOUL development. For, the soul seeks growth; as Truth, as Life, as Light, IS in itself. God IS, and so is life, light, truth, hope, love. And those that abide in same, grow. Those that abide in the shadow of the night, or the conditions that become or make for the fruits of these, do not grow.

39. (Q) In what way have failed to heed the advice of my Maker, in my actions or deeds, or wherein have I been lacking? (A) Study to show self approved. Turn within self. No man has the right to find fault with his brother. Neither do the angels that stand before the throne of mercy find fault, but rather present that which the individual soul has done with his knowledge, his intellect, his understanding. For, thus does the soul find the relationships to the Maker; whether there is the god of light and love and hope, or that which was separated from same that makes for despair, for night, and for those things that do hinder the approach. Look, then, into self. Answer to self. For, each individual must so live each day that he may look into the face of that he has spoken, that he has lived, and say: "By this I stand to be judged before myself, before my God."

40. (Q) Why has all the misfortune come to me in 1933 to unsettle all my plans?

257-123 Page 9

(A) Are "all my plans" in keeping with that He would guide thee to do? or in keeping with the own self? He whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth. He purgeth every one that He considers may be a companion with Him. Lovest thou these more than the praise from the grace or glory of God? Then know that in the way thou goest is the means for a better understanding.

41. (Q) Please lay out step by step my course for balance of year, so that I may start 1934 with a bang - and a clean slate? (A) This may depend upon whether considered from the material, the mental or the spiritual standpoint. Remember, the mental is the builder, the spiritual is the guide (or the life), the conditions builded in material things are the results. While there may come the pleasures of those things of the world for the season, the step by step should be: "I show, in my relations to my fellow man, in my conversation and in my deeds day by day, that I consider the relationship to my Maker." For, when an individual is passed from the activities of the stages in the material things, WHO carries on? That which has been builded in self through constructive forces? or the destructive forces? Then, let thy steps be in the way of light, that these may bring - not only to self but to those that are dependent upon self - those things that make for the worth while. For, as given, a good name is to be chosen rather than great riches.

42. (Q) Should I spend time now to get an order on houses for the conservation corps in Washington, which I started sometime ago? or what should I do? (A) There have been the more recently some new arrangements made to the activities of the conservation corps. Be well to look into these. Be necessary, if looked into in the proper way, that a trip be made to Washington. Yet these go through the offices in Brooklyn and down town New York.

43. (Q) How should I proceed and thru whom should I go now? (A) The regular channels. These are all laid out, the specifications and rules and regulations as to how the approach should be made. These have been laid out before the body. Follow these. Climbing up some other way is like beggaring, as Balaam did, with those forces of God's influences in the life.

44. (Q) Can I depend on the Williams Shoe Co. to make army shoes; whose offices are in Boston?

257-123 Page 10

(A) If you had the order, yes!

45. (Q) Should [417] and I go to Washington in regard to shoes? If so, what should be the results? (A) Dependent upon the association and connection, and if 0 in keeping with the necessary demands made for shoes. The greater portion of this order has already been placed. The order for shoes! The greater portion has already been placed by the Government. You're about four to six weeks too late for the greater part of it! It may be very well to figure on the others for the spring, but the returns would not be coming in until very much later - in the mid-summer.

46. (Q) Please review the plan for me to follow in rotation, that I may be guided safely and correctly to again be successful for the benefit of my family and associates. (A) As given oft, and as just presented, study to show thyself approved unto thine Maker. Do not confuse self, nor consider or feel that the spiritual and mental life is different from the material things. For, one is the shadow or the reflection of the other. If ye live in the light, the shadows fall behind. If the face is turned from the light, there can be nothing in the life - in the mental or material things - BUT shadow. TURN to the LIGHT!
