Time of Reading 3:45 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C.

1. GC: [257], who seeks a complete physical reading advising him how to rid himself of the cold and congestion and what routine should now be adopted, for the Spring, to rebuild body mentally and physically. After you have finished the physical reading you will then advise him as to his business procedure to obtain the loan and successful association for Carolina Wood Products Co. of Asheville, and its parent Company, Woodfin Holding Co. of Asheville, N. C., and answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before, and those conditions physical and mental as well as material, and their associations.

3. In the physical forces of the body, as we have given heretofore, there have been those activities that have taken little consideration as to the very basis of the better effects in the system from the use of correct principles in the living, in the activities, in the material and in the activities as to the applications necessary for keeping an even balance. And the warnings have been that there might come periods when the distresses, and the very energies of the system in its anxiety, would eat up all the efforts mentally and physically of the body.

4. We find in the present existing conditions wherein the mental attitudes, with the general physical activities, have left in the body the effects on the numerous portions of the body that are subject to the poisons and congested forces in a whole general system; making for inefficiency in activity. While the body may through the sheer energy of the system continue to carry on in a way and manner, the effectiveness is more harmful to the general welfare of the physical body than were there the periods of sufficient inactivity that there might be brought a more normal balance in the body and in its relationships to the mental and material affairs; that necessarily must be coped with by the body at the time.

5. These conditions, as we find, are effective in the body

257-129 Page 2

at present: That general tendency in the antrum and the soft tissue of face and throat. Those effects in the tonsils and in the position of the soft tissue in the back portion of the head or in the throat, where the whole activity of the system has become very much engorged and there are the sources of poisons continuing to arise in the system. To have same removed, however, in the present, would be very unwise; for there is not the sufficient balance of the properties in the blood supply to create a perfect coagulation under such extreme measures without becoming a permanent harmful condition to the body. Yet, unless there are precautions, unless there are some activities that are near to the proper relationships, this may BECOME NECESSARY - thus bringing for the whole body detrimental conditions in the whole activities of the body.

6. As to the throat and bronchi that are affected by these, making for irritations in the activities of the lungs themselves and through the relationships of drainages that come into the activities of the digestive fluids that should ordinarily flow normally into the stomach, there is an unbalancing in the gastric forces of the digestive system. Hence we find digestion is disturbed, and that which apparently once agreed with the body now produces either a certain reaction in the liver, spleen and the pancreas as to cause acute indigestion in the activity of the body or there is the reverse activity and too easily a diarrhea condition is produced in the upper portion of the body, and across the diaphragm and through the colon a heaviness where there again comes the accumulation of poisons in the transverse colon. For, the activities through this portion of the system are dilatory as related to the general activity of the body. These, as seen then, are effects in the system. This strain brings at times heaviness to the activity in the kidney area, making for pains across the small of the back, down the back portion of the legs, and the irritation in the lower extremities - especially a form of rash on the under side of the leg and on the ankles and feet. The feet give a great deal of trouble through a form of swelling or soreness, from poor circulation in the system attempting to create a normal balance in the body.

7. Better take time that these be brought to a more normal activity!

8. In meeting, then, as we would find in this body of [257] we are speaking of in the present, it would be better that there be a series of not only external steam baths taken but also internal baths; that there might be the relief from the natural drosses that arise from drainages of the nature that

257-129 Page 3

we have shown or given as being effective in producing disorders and disturbances in various portions of the organs in their functioning in the system, as related to the assimilating and digestive system, but as affecting the whole nervous system and, naturally, the whole ability of the body to become nearer balanced and in accord with the better forces or influences that may be active through the body.

9. These we would take at least for the first week three times each week, not too great an amount either as to the length of period when the massage and the steam baths would be taken or as to the internal or colonic irrigations that would be given at the time, but be cautious that AFTER such the body does not get out in the air for periods that would cause the effectiveness of the influences that would be in crowds and in the exercising of the mental activities of the system as to undo that which may be accomplished by the use of these effective forces - if they are taken properly in the system.

10. When the baths or sweats are taken and the body is rubbed down thoroughly, there should be applied for THIS body - as we find, the more effective influences would be in - the plain violet ray over the antrum, the nasal portions, the face, the neck; but use the single eye applicator, not on the eye but as the general applicator so that the electrical forces may not be spread over such an area. These will be much preferable to the sinusoidal or the finger wave activity passing through the body by being concentrated by the activity of a massage itself; that is, the applications statically from the use of the wave direct through the portions of the body. These will produce drainages in the system and thus necessitate the activity through the eliminations by colonic irrigations that may keep the system free from the poisons that are thrown off in the system.

11. And during these periods - not for one week that three would be taken, see, but the next week we would take only two such treatments - we would have during the third week the massage and the electrical treatment only. So, as we would give, begin the treatments first on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Saturdays - three times a week. The next week give them on Tuesdays and Fridays only, but on Wednesday have the GENERAL massage treatment - not the sweat, but the general massage - and the electrical treatment.

12. Be mindful during all of these periods, and through the periods of further recuperation for the mental and physical balance of the body, that the diets are kept more in an

257-129 Page 4

amicable manner. This means more a CONSISTENT manner. Eating very little today and quite a bit tomorrow doesn't do very well for a system attempting to be recuperative to a balance in its physical forces of the body; and especially in the conditions that exist here with this body of [257] we are speaking of.

13. Let the morning diet be this:

14. Citrus fruit juices. DO NOT eat cereals of ANY kind WITH, or at the same meal, or immediately before or following, citrus fruit juices. If preferable, hot cereal or dry cereal may be taken at times, but at such meals DO NOT take the fruit juices! At other times there may be stewed or fresh fruits; as pears, grapes - QUANTITIES of grapes for this body would be MOST helpful, but if grapes are taken do not eat either cereal OR bread or vegetables, but a large quantity of grapes - a pound, pound and a half would not be too many if the seeds are taken out.

15. Noons (and eat the noon meals) - preferably the JUICES of vegetables or meats, not the flesh itself save the small quantity of vegetables that may be in the soups; and preferably a green vegetable salad, which means RAW vegetables - as celery, lettuce, carrots, or these may be combined with fruits such as canned pears, canned peaches or the like, provided these are not canned with benzoate of soda. Plums and others may be included in such a salad; this either after or before the juices or either meats or vegetables would be taken; but DO NOT at such a meal eat just a little sandwich or sweets and a lot of bread, because - as will be seen - we are keeping away from bread as much as possible, save once or twice each day.

16. Evenings - not great quantities of meats; NONE of beef, whether stewed, fried, broiled or what, but mutton or fowl or fish may be taken, and a well-BALANCED vegetable diet. And at no time take any of those things that carry reproduction of intoxicating forces for the body, save light wines at the evening meal and these preferably taken when the meat course is served.

17. If the body will follow these directions, if the body will keep in those things that have been outlined for keeping a well-balance in the mental and the material and the physical forces of self, making for the conducting of the activities in such a way and manner as to prevent strain on the system, we will find that in three to six weeks we will have near a normal body. Disregarding these, adding to or leaving out much of this, we will not be responsible for the results.

18. Ready for questions on the material things.

19. (Q) Concerning refinancing and opening of Carolina Wood Products of Asheville: (A) (Interrupting) This has been given, and there have been those activities in part concerning the ways and manners these should be gone about. There is, to be sure, some resentment that this is a CLOSED and not a going proposition. But inasmuch as there is to be furnished through this channel a condition wherein the certain amounts (and the greater amounts that are plausible and reasonable) that are to be kept continually in employment by the re-opening of the organization and by the settling of a portion of the stock or the financing of same, as indicated, by the people in the immediate vicinity, the people who will be benefited by the activities of this organization in conducting the work there, as we find, there will be little or no trouble in EVENTUALLY getting it through; and we do not find that the period of time will be such that it will prevent or preclude the carrying on in the correct way and manner. The assistance of the representative of the State with the authorities in Washington is helpful, yes. But not as demands other than for the REPRESENTATION of same for the State that the individual is a representative of those in that portion of the State. Then, the way that has been presented is very good; and, as we find, it will be successful. We would gain the aid and help from those in authority in the State affairs, but do not depend too greatly or rely too much upon political influence. Rather from that point of the efficiency in the activities of the organization, as not only an addition or assistance to a peoples in a place of the unemployed but that there will be the return to the Government of the moneys in their proper order and way and manner. But give self sufficient time for same.

20. (Q) Gilbert Morris & Geo. Wright met with Ben Johnson at 1825 - 8th St., N.W., Washington, D.C., office of R.F.C. (A) (Interrupting) This has been gone over and, as said, it's very well. Now only entertain those activities in the representative of the State; these will be sufficient to see that they are given their due consideration in their proper order and place and time. Be mindful that for self and those associated it will be necessary to take care of a portion of the stock in the sale to same, as indicated, that are to have benefits from same

257-129 Page 6

in the immediate surroundings. This has been told to the body from the first. That the railroad may be interested somewhat in same is very good, but rather will it be for individuals than for concerns of that nature.

21. (Q) Having followed advice of Forces and moved office to 206 Lexington Ave., Furniture Exchange Bldg., what is my next move to prepare myself for a return to the furniture business? (A) You're preparing as fast as you can, if you'll carry on out the things started; and then, of course, those that make for the better condition in self to be able to meet the emergencies as they arise from time to time.

22. (Q) Considering present conditions, how long will it take for the R.F.C. Board to grant the loan to Woodfin Holding Co., the company organized by me and associates to take title to the property? (A) In the next three weeks. If it isn't done by then, you'll have to make other arrangements or make other moves - to know the reason why.

23. (Q) What will be the final price associates & I will be compelled to pay Peter Rathvon, Pres. of Pacific Eastern Co., #30 Pine St., N.Y.C., for the Carolina Wood Products property? (A) That cannot be considered until there is seen the outcome - and it should have been settled upon BEFORE there was made the application for the loan through the properties; for to have even sufficient to buy and then to be held up on the price because there is known the amount of moneys or properties that are held for such purposes, that demand that same shall be made by those in organization! But that figure as settled upon first, as we find, should be the one adhered to. Don't go above it; for he's only waiting to see whether you get the money or not!

24. (Q) Is there anything I can or should do to further aid in getting the loan thru? (A) What has been done is alright, as indicated, but you must know where you stand with those for whom you are purchasing same!

25. (Q) What should be the financial set-up as to amount of Common and Preferred Stock, and capitalization necessary for purchase & operation of factory? (A) This should be sufficient, as indicated heretofore, to not only allow for the carrying on of the operations - or buying or purchasing the plant and the necessary capital to put same into order for operation - but for carrying on the operations until sufficient time has elapsed to establish self in this association with the various distributing points. One reason why it will be very well to have many of the distributing agencies as certain styles or forms that

257-129 Page 7

use, in cooperative ways, the products of certain manufacturers interested in the corporation or the purchase of stock or association in same. Do not lose control of that. As indicated, self should not be responsible for the moneys for the running of same for the payroll from week to week. Let this be rather from those who have been and are anxious for the opening of the proposition for their own benefits. While for self, there should be the responsibility for the output of the proper product; that is, properly classified, properly put together for distribution in those points and connections that have been and may be made by the body from time to time. And the self become responsible for the type of accounts made in the sale of same, which will overbalance any of those necessary for the immediate need for the operations when once going.

26. Do that. We are through for the present. Copy to Self - office - Special Delivery " " Ass'n file
