Time of Reading 10:30 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C. (Body and enquiring mind; questions on health, mental and material affairs.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before, and those conditions physical, mental and material that are a portion of the body-entity experience in the present. Ready for questions.
2. (Q) Why does pain continue in my left foot? (A) The effect of poisons in the system that have not been entirely eliminated. Keep nearer those outlines that have been indicated for the diet as well as for the eliminations, in the matter of the massage, the character of the eliminations; or the toxic forces from used energies that are as ash or dross in the system, and these may be eliminated entirely in the manner that has been indicated. This we would do, else we may expect the neuritis or rheumatic reflections later.
3. (Q) Is there any other advice for my better health at this time? (A) If we would do these, we would find the conditions being entirely eliminated so as to give the better physical body for the mental and spiritual to manifest through at this time.
4. (Q) Regarding material affairs: What can be expected of Ralph Jonas, since receipt of his letter from Morris dated June 15th in which he asked Jonas for a proposition, or to accept the one Morris offered? (A) This, to be sure, is dependent upon the manner in which the proposition is presented. To tell as to what an individual soul may do when approached by other individuals is as impossible through these channels as it has been for the Father, God, giving man a free-will, to tell what he will do with himself - UNTIL the man or the individual soul has met the laws. The proposition from Morris should be presented with those conditions that have again and again been given, that the proposition of the furniture factory
257-133 Page 2
must be primarily from the attitude of the individuals and people in the place - or Asheville - where the activities are to be carried on, see? This is almost as necessary through the Government as it would be in making a proposition for a financial institution that is primarily for the profits to the individuals who have invested their money; and it should be JUST as safe and as much in line with those ideas that have been presented through these channels from the first.
5. (Q) Considering Jonas-Morris situation, is it advisable for me to try and see Jonas again? (A) In the proper time. When is the proper time? When there is the indication from Jonas that the information which may be given by [257] is necessary for the understanding of the whole situation.
6. (Q) What basis will be acceptable now to Jonas? (A) That it will be presented in such a way and manner that there will be sufficient capital prescribed or subscribed for in the local channels that will insure the investments of the moneys that Jonas represents.
7. (Q) How can Morris best raise the operating capital, and where? (A) We are going right around in a circle. As we have indicated, if this cannot be supplied and does not open the channels for sufficient numbers and sufficient influence for those in the immediate territory to invest their own moneys, how MAY it be expected otherwise?
8. (Q) What will be result of Wed. night meeting with Whalen & Coffield, discussing means of raising capital thru the firm of Pratt & Weed of N.Y.? (A) We do not find this going very far unless there can be, or is, some other influence used in the nature of that which we have indicated.
9. (Q) Should I continue to talk to other possible sources for funds while waiting on Jonas? (A) Oftentimes these very activities, not being CONSISTENTLY handled in this direction, would and do make for confusions - even for self. But HAVING the channel (in Jonas, and in those others that have been indicated), why NOT make the proper approach or connections? Let this be a question to self, and that which has been given the body [257] - and which is well for [257] to present to the associates Morris and all those concerned. It has been given that necessary for the interesting of capital, whether Government capital or private capital or the regular capital. Why not conform to that necessary, or cut the pattern to such that it can be MADE to conform to same? No use stringing self along when there is not being the proper
257-133 Page 3
things set in their proper place. Do the first things first, and not string it out so long!
10. (Q) Will Government permit loan of $ 350,000 now, with new Federal Reserve Loan Act, to start up factory? (A) Provided those conditions that we have outlined are conformed to; that it is shown to the Government, through those people or individuals first as we have indicated, that such a loan would justify the Government in relieving sufficient numbers of individuals on other improvement or loan Acts such as to make the change; and that it is being maintained by others that are conforming to the various codes of activity in the various directions in the district. Then no trouble would be found at all. Without this, you are only stringing yourself.
11. (Q) How can Morris handle that? (A) Just get it done!
12. (Q) Should I accept offer of Jack Gilbert, son-in-law of Judge Brandeis, to go to Washington and to Asheville to aid to get loan thru, or better work solely thru Lande and Morris? (A) As just given, there is no need of stringing self along - or asking or seeking through any, though there might be the possibility of going and dining and wining and riding, etc., even with Jonas himself - UNLESS the basis for the loan is in accord with the Acts of the Government for making same, AS HAS BEEN GIVEN!
13. (Q) Gilbert suggests going thru law partner of Roosevelt - Atty. O'Connor - for help. Would this be an aid or detriment? (A) Any channel is an aid, provided the first things are done first that are required by the Government to make the situation in accord with the very purposes of the Act itself. But to attempt to ride over or go through other channels than the regular activities is only fooling self, and putting self in a position where that even Government propositions in other ways will be questioned. Can't you see it?
14. (Q) Considering all late developments, should I go to Asheville alone or with Marcus? (A) If there are the possibilities, or if there is the need of the self going there - not to FRAME a condition, but if it is to be handled through Morris and Morris is the channel, isn't it better to have all open and aboveboard? Begin where it is necessary! And it will not be obtained, either from private capital or from the Government, until the approach is made in accord with the requirements.
15. (Q) What can I do or say to get quick action and full cooperation from Morris?
257-133 Page 4
(A) That it must conform to that required by the Board for the activity. Don't try to climb up some other way. It has been given over and over again that there is a Government Board appointed in the Asheville district to handle loans for individuals, for homes, for concerns that will employ those that it has been necessary for the Government to maintain through the various Boards' activities that may be curtailed and save money for the Government by lending money to an institution that will supply through its regular channels employment for sufficient number of people to insure that at least FIVE PERCENT of the individuals that have been thus far supplied by the Government will be supplied through these channels. That there are sufficient number of the citizenry of the town, of the county, of that portion of the state, that would verify this very activity; and not only verify same but indicate same by the investing of some of their own individual means to aid in furthering such an undertaking. With these facts, and with the assurance that there is sufficient capital for the working of same, which may be obtained locally in the greater part - and then through the same channels that from the character that is being asked or sought to aid, it will work! It will work!
16. (Q) Should Frank Williams of Sumpter, S.C., who called me Friday night - and who has big lumber interests and is willing to help me, be introduced to Morris; or should this be handled alone as a separate deal in event Morris plan does not work? (A) All of these might be, or can be, combined together to make for a coordination throughout. But the Sumpter proposition is only seeking for self's outlet, you see. This may be associated in any of several propositions in which the body [257] has been interested, but if it is made such a part of the proposition with Morris then it makes for or builds up a proposition that will make for a whole ROUNDED proposition, as a place for obtaining the proper materials, that also is combined in the whole of the proposition that supplies the activities for OTHER individuals that have also been in the same way and manner as being a care for the various projects of the Government, see? But as to whether this will be put into the proposition or kept separate, that must be decided by self. How would YOU like to be treated if you were in Morris' place and Morris had the proposition that has been offered you?
17. (Q) Will you please clear my mind so I will handle these suggestions step by step to completion, and - (A) (Interrupting) We have explained the necessary
257-133 Page 5
procedure as clearly as words may be put! We are through with this part of the information!
18. (Q) With conditions as set, will I be able to attend the Ass'n Congress at Va. Beach next week, or the Board meeting on June 30th? (A) That will be up to self. Many of the propositions there in Washington and in Asheville may be worked together with same, but as to whether this is done or not - SELF must decide.
19. (Q) What are the recent changes in my status at St. Louis, with claim against Paris Medicine Co., and the St. Louis Union Trust, since Grove's death? (A) It should be able to be a more definite claim, and should be carried on through in the way and manner as Reed - REED - has outlined.
20. (Q) Should suit be continued or dropped against personal estate of deceased? (A) As Reed will outline; has outlined.
21. (Q) Will a settlement be offered to Senator Reed by Paris Medicine Co., or will it come to trial? (A) As REED will outline.
22. (Q) What is status of my present physical, mental and spiritual development, and my material well-being. Am I progressing or retrogressing? (A) When not progressing, rarely does a soul, body or mind, physical, mental, material, stand still for very long; unless considering through spiritual attributes. Almost at a standstill, but progressing spiritually.
23. (Q) What definite plan can I submit to Ungerleider to bring prompt returns to both? (A) None better than we have outlined for the body, as to how it might from the very first; and yet the body has let the better part of many opportunities pass. Consider the situations in the various states, the various manners and channels in which the various activities are to be approached or met. And these in their regular order, as the changes have come and are coming about, may be used to the most advantageous manner in making such an association or connection. It requires work on the part of self, yes! How many of the states that have ratified - Consider self and what has been given. Consider self for a minute. Let's ask self questions and see whether self has complied in ANY of the statuses or not! What is the situation in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri? Now all of these represent or present an entirely different proposition, as
257-133 Page 6
to the shipment and the maintaining of the products which may be obtained from Ungerleider and associations. And nearly a third of all that may be used in these states named COULD have been sold through [257]! Why wasn't it? How many of them does he know the situation of? How long ago was it given that this should be watched? and that the body should seek through these channels and just be the agent for the Government and for the State and for the situations that arise is each one of these? Then, how can he make for quick returns? Look in West Virginia and what is being acted on and carried on right now! Look in Virginia, as to what is being carried on by the state in its various associations or characters that are being sent or shipped to the state itself! It is in position right now to spend three and a half million dollars for Scotch Whiskey! [257] can sell it all through Ungerleider, but he doesn't know the situation or who to go to nor where! And three and a half millions will be spent between now and the fifteenth of August by the State of Virginia alone for Scotch Whiskey! One percent on it would at least pay your house rent, wouldn't it?
24. (Q) Will the Chicago Wolf-Solomon deal as submitted to Ungerleider be successful for me? (A) There's got to be some changes in it somewhere for it to be successful, yet there will be a portion of this that will go through.
25. (Q) How and what should I say or present to Geo. Trommer, Apt. 329 Waldorf Astoria, to get him to agree to accept $1,000,000 for a 1/3 interest in his brewery in Bklyn? (A) You have been offered the condition. Present what has been given you to offer.
26. (Q) Please give me the proper staging and arguments to assure this deal going thru as Wm. Dunn of the Manufacturers Trust has authorized it. (A) PRESENT what has been offered. See the situation. Then carry the activities back and forth, and they'll either act or they won't. But don't fool yourself that it can be carried on eternally, or for over thirty-five days - unless some changes will be made.
27. (Q) Could I combine the idea of Trommer selling for $1,250,000 and using $250,000 to buy 1/3 interest in my Carolina Wood Products deal? (A) No.
28. (Q) How best to suggest or handle it? (A) It must go STRAIGHT!
29. (Q) What industry offers for my particular abilities the most successful and prosperous future? (A) Wood and metal. [See Life Rdg. 257-10.]
257-133 Page 7
30. (Q) Should I work out a plan to join the organization of Brunswick, Balke, Collander, here and Chicago, or try to interest them in building bars at Asheville, N.C., or what opportunities can I have with their organization? (A) If there is the completion of the proposition in Asheville, then work with the Balke & Collander Company to make for them a portion of their products. If the Carolina proposition entirely falls through, then become their representative in certain portions of the country, or their trade agent for them in certain lines of their manufacturing.
31. (Q) Should I plan to visit them at the Chicago office, and when? (A) When you have decided as to what is to be the association or connection.
32. (Q) What benefit will come to me from my visit with Nancy Cook, whose office is Room 704, 331 Madison Ave., N.Y.C.? (A) Depends upon what are the needs for the introductions that may come in line with those things that have been given. Now, to use such an association when there has not been the completing of any of the propositions necessary for present- ing in the regular form and order, is to ABUSE the friend- ship. But using same for the PROPER introduction, with the situations set IN ORDER, wherever and whenever they may be presented, is to use same as a HELPFUL influence to both.
33. (Q) What influence can she bring to bear in Washington to aid in opening the Asheville plant? (A) All that she might open, unless these are set in order, would be detrimental rather than helpful, as has been explained - and we are through. Copy to Self - Special Delivery to home. " " Ass'n file
