1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [257], who is in Maurice Pereles' office, 101 W. 31st St., 24th floor, N.Y.C., who seeks advice and guidance from the highest sources as to the proper procedure to start his factory, close the medicine deal, and properly take advantage of the opportunities presented. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before.
3. Many are the varying angles that present themselves to the body in the present situations and problems that confront same. Many of those things that are sought or asked here might be answered very profitably to the body in this:
4. As the injunction was given to thee of old, "Use that thou hast in hand PROPERLY and the next step is given thee."
5. The approach in taking advantage is not very good. It isn't MEANT in the manner in which it is sought, yet is building within self that which later must become a barrier. USE the opportunities; not advantage over any one situation or any thing; for these must be met - and know that others will take advantage of thee if thou takest advantage of another!

7. (Q) Should I go to Chicago to see Leslie Sailors at 666 Lake Shore Drive, Showers Bros. Space, to discuss Eastern Furniture representation? (A) This, to be sure, presents itself now in opposition to other things that are being sought concerning by the body here, you see. And if this is done, then other things that are asked concerning as to whether they CAN be done - CANNOT be done! The choice must be in the mind, the purposes, the aims of the body itself. As we would find, it would be WELL to make the association

for the whole line as representative of same; while there may be the undertakings in some directions - as has been indicated - for other activities. Yes, go. Go when the mart is open!
8. (Q) What kind of agreement would be best for me? (A) That which will not hinder self from going on with other propositions.
9. (Q) What period of time on furniture? (A) As long as is desired!
10. (Q) How is best way to handle Sailors to get his full cooperation? (A) In the same way you would want Sailors to handle you if the conditions were reversed!
11. (Q) Should I plan on Showers being interested in additional business of G.E. for 1935? (A) It may be.
12. (Q) How much business will G.E. place at Showers plant that Showers will take? (A) Depends upon the manner in which there are the deliveries, and the character of the product, and the manner in which all of these are handled! These things are one dependent upon another, as the body WELL understands - should not be sought! for in seeking such it BLOCKS SELF as to what he may attain!
13. (Q) Will I be successful with present Showers type and style of furniture? (A) CAN be! Whether you will or not depends upon the activity! To be sure, such things are not cut and dried! To say that you have the representation, and then sit down and say Yes, it's going to work - it doesn't.
14. (Q) What changes should I make in the line for Eastern acceptance? (A) None.
15. (Q) What territory should I take on for Showers? (A) Eastern territory!
16. (Q) What effect will this representation have on any possibilities of opening of Carolina? (A) SHOULD make for the better possibilities. For if the body can indicate to others that are interested that the ability is there in self to place for those that draw a LINE on the body's activities as to how it should sell and when it should sell, and the price that it should sell, then there will be the indications that the abilities of the body are not short!
