Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body & enquiring mind - Questions)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before.

2. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Is the body's physical condition improved since last you had it? (A) In some respects it has improved; in others not so much. There have been some indiscretions on the part of the body as respecting the diet from time to time. This makes for a return of some disorders. As we find, these conditions exist in the physical forces of the body: There is that tendency, which has been indicated again and again, for the eliminations to be choked. And in this period, or through this time of year, with the adjustments that are necessary for the physical body to make with the sudden changes in climatic conditions, atmospheric pressures, the various activities of the body, these - of course - tell in a sensitive body, as to poisons from congestion and the like. Also the feet are disturbed, through the plexus in the 4th dorsal area. This makes for an unbalancing, and causes those pains in the limbs and the feet. This also is the cause of the disturbances through the alimentary canal, as has been indicated for the body again and again. It is the cause also of the pains in the shoulders, in the head, the phlegm in the throat at times, fullness in the head. And with sufficient of the ADJUSTMENTS made, as has been indicated, and the massage and rubdown, these should disappear. As a precautionary measure in the eliminations through the alimentary canal, coordinations of the liver, the kidneys,

257-149 Page 2

clearing the kidneys of the poisons that make for those pressures about the heart's activity (though it is muscular and not organic), it would be well for the body to take Vinol. When an eight to ten ounce bottle of this has been purchased, pour two tablespoonsful from the bottle and throw it away - don't try to take it; and in its place add (in a bottle, you see) a tablespoonful of Essence of Lactated Pepsin. Shake together before the dose is taken, which would be a teaspoonful twice each day, before the morning meal and before retiring. This will act as a stimuli, as an emit, as a corrector of the circulatory forces. Do not become alarmed because it increases the activity of the kidneys; this is to wash or to cleanse same, for the properties of the Buchu Leaves in this makes for a cleansing in that direction. Also the quantity of Podophyllum (though in the form here it is combined in the root extract itself - Mandrake Root, see?) is to make for a stimulation through the alimentary canal, and especially in the gall duct area, and will PURIFY the blood stream BY assisting (in this quantity) the eliminations; so as not to purge but to produce a laxative throughout the body. It would be well for the portions of the exercises that have been indicated to be taken that make for the cleansing of the head and neck of the poisons. These are helpful. Not too much of those that would expand upon the activity of OTHER portions, but the head, neck and arms.

4. (Q) The body has refrained from meats. What should his diet be for Spring and Summer? (A) Be very light upon meats. Fowl or lamb may be taken occasionally. Fish, especially if boiled - or Gefillte Fish, or broiled fish; these are well, or baked fish. Broiled lamb, or stew with vegetables. Orange juice or citrus fruit juices of mornings are well. Not too much of sweets, but quite a well-balanced diet in the evening; PREFERABLY vegetables cooked in their OWN juices - as in the Patapar Paper.

5. (Q) Considering all conditions, what exercise could and should I take? (A) The exercises that have been indicated should be taken at least once or twice a day. The breathing exercises for the head, the neck and the upper portions of the body. And walking. And, as indicated oft for the body, the body should make a BALANCE in its physical, its mental and its spiritual activity; BUDGETING its time, making for the recreation that is as necessary with the mental body as with the physical body - and these will keep the body better

257-149 Page 3

balanced.

6. (Q) Is present treatment of hair using PROCAR aiding the hair? (A) Aiding the hair. We would continue with this, if it is more preferable than what we have outlined (which is better!).

7. (Q) Should the body take the breathing exercises of Dr. THIND? [East Indian Sikh teacher, Dr. Bhagat Singh Thind] (A) As indicated, the breathing exercises for the head, the neck and the arms; THESE we would take.

8. (Q) Is the body ready for meditation as suggested by Dr. Thind? (A) If the body will cleanse its body-PHYSICAL, it will be ready for meditation; and BUDGET its time!

9. (Q) How often the meditation? (A) Once a day, at least.

10. (Q) Where should body and his family spend the summer considering their health and his financial condition? (A) Where it is the most congenial, and where they may be as much in the open as possible. The beach is very good.

11. (Q) As to his development of the furniture, he went West, to the Showers factory at Bloomington, visited Mr. Burnett and the sales manager Mr. Les Sailors. They promised to write him and turn over the entire furniture sales in the East to him. (A) There has been some delay, owing to the investigations that are a portion of the activities of every well balanced organization. As we find, there may be some curtailment in the territory that may be awarded [257] in his activity; that will depend upon the efforts and what [257] is able to show is possible in the activity to begin at once; that is, the orders, see? Then it would be well to write and, if necessary, go West again. Don't wait, but don't be so overactive as to spoil the whole situation.

12. (Q) [257] has decided to devote his time to this Showers line, if given it, and let the Carolina Wood Products rest until they send for him. Is that the proper attitude to assume? (A) It is well that this be taken as given, and leave the other proposition until there is the approach from others for the handling of the whole or part of the Operations of the Carolina.

13. (Q) [257] has asked for the new England and Eastern States - (A) (Interrupting) As indicated, there may be some curtailment in a portion of the territory allotted or awarded, but it is well to ask for same; but show by the ability to obtain the orders that [257] can handle the situations. And those that are of the furniture that are

257-149 Page 4

not the highest or lowest will be the lines that will be the better for the handling at this time. Not that which is too showy, but - as indicated - a semblance of periods in the various manufactures.

14. (Q) [257] took a set of Government drawings to Showers for them to figure on. Was that a good move? (A) This is very good. And while there may not be the awarding of same, it is well in such that there be followed very closely the specifications that are required by the Government upon such specifications and such orders. As we find, this should be in part successful.

15. (Q) Will [257] receive the appointment at once from Mr. Sailors for the furniture line representation? (A) As indicated, it may be necessary for another visit West. Do not overstep, nor become discouraged because some portions may not be allotted as asked for.

16. (Q) Reference the [900] case, [257]'s attorney Popkin of 160 B'way, 15th floor, has prepared the case, invited Mr. Moses the Banker to be a witness and others to have [900] repay [257] for the East Coast Stock they took away from him, and thus enable [257] to pay the [3734] Judgement, which [[900] & [137]] engineered. What is yet necessary for [257] and his attorney to do to win the case successfully? (A) If it is presented in the manner in which it has been prepared, as we find, there should be little trouble in getting the whole situation settled in the proper way and manner. To have the stock and then require the pay does not bespeak that this could stand the test before the Judge. Well that all who purchased stock in the same (that are acquainted with the situation) be called also as witnesses.

17. (Q) Will [257] be able to overcome the arguments of Max Steur through his attorney Lionel Popkin? (A) He should be, through those very things that have been outlined.

18. (Q) Is there any pressure that could be used thru SEC to aid [257] or will the present facts be sufficient to win the case? (A) Do not attempt to use pressure. Use only what is RIGHT!

19. (Q) Should David Levy testify? (A) All those who have purchased in the same, that bears upon the situation, should be considered.

20. (Q) [257] bears no malice but asks justice - (A) (Interrupting) Then act that way and manner!

21. (Q) Reference Paris Medicine Co., and the medicine deal, [257] has tried to carry out the instructions in getting the proper attorneys and handle the case properly.

257-149 Page 5

What progress is he making toward getting this matter settled or cleared up to satisfaction of all? (A) To be sure, there will on the part of Orr and a portion of those in St. Louis be the working with [257] in making for the re-sale to prevent any return to the suit, as indicated must be followed along the lines of those that have been indicated should handle that portion of same. As to those that may become purchasers of the medicine company, as we find, those in the LOCAL or the New York or in the East that have spoken or CONSIDERED are not to be considered too seriously; though they may still be used for a purpose to make for a proper opening or association with the English organization that has considered such a proposition. So work along those lines.

22. (Q) Who would be best concern in England to see or contact? (A) Those who have made an indication that they were interested in same.

23. (Q) Will Harvey Gibson, Pres. of Mfgs. Trust Co., 55 Broad St., be of aid to [257] in selling the business? (A) Be of help and assistance to the body.

24. (Q) Will [257] finally sell it again, or will the suit come to trial? (A) That depends upon the activities, and associations all becoming congenial with the activities of [257].

25. (Q) What is the attitude of Orr of St. Louis Union Trust and his associates to [257] now since he visited him? (A) As indicated, rather in sympathy and would work with [257].

26. (Q) Why has he not heard from Fred Seely about the new financial reports and other figures required? (A) This has been held up, but there will be the hearing from same.

27. (Q) What is Seely's attitude and decision as reference to [257]? (A) Not as open and as congenial as at some times, yet in sympathy.

28. (Q) Did [257] conduct himself fairly and as he should have while at St. Louis with all concerned at the Bank? (A) Very good.

29. (Q) What was accomplished by [257] while there? (A) As indicated.

30. (Q) Lawrence Spyr of 420 Lexington Ave., Leason & Co., claims he has a customer that wants to buy and pay cash. Will his group come thru and make an offer? (A) Not very good, and not to be relied upon unless he can get a hold in and claim for something. Watch this very closely. Unless that he can bring directly the associations

257-149 Page 6

with the English firm.

31. (Q) Will Ralph Jonas be any assistance to [257] in this matter? (A) COULD be of assistance if so desired!

32. (Q) What about Maurice Wertheim? (A) Also may be helpful.

33. (Q) Any other Financial group that [257] should see? (A) These should work along in their regular order and line; following out each lead to its termination.

34. (Q) What medicine group? (A) The same one as considered before, or those of the group that are of the Standard Oil might be considered.

35. (Q) What plan will cause the consummation of the sale? (A) Get it all in order and in shape!

36. (Q) From present indications, when should matter finally be closed up? (A) Between now and October.

37. (Q) Considering all of the above, please show [257] how to keep his equilibrium, and keep up his fight to win the success that he asks - (A) (Interrupting) As indicated, follow each lead to its termination. Do not be OVERANXIOUS but be BUSY all the time at each situation that arises. Don't tell EVERYBODY your business! Keep always SOMETHING to yourself! Not as hiding, but as you would be done by - which doesn't indicate telling EVERYONE ALL you know!

38. (Q) Reference the Work [EC Work:] [257] has a letter from Irene DuPont, discussing his interest in the work. What should [257] do to futher this acquaintance for the benefit of Edgar Cayce and the people awaiting this knowledge. Mr. DuPont lives in Wilmington, Delaware. (A) It would be well for [257] to step OUT, as it were, by letting the Chairman of the Board present that outline of the Work which he has - and call [257] IF necessary.

39. (Q) [257] had a dream that Alfred DuPont wanted him to meet Irene DuPont. Alfred passed away and left fifty million for the welfare of the crippled and aged. Why did he want [257] to meet Irene? (A) For the good that might come to all through all those interests that may be had in such an association. [6/17/37 See 165-23, Par. 9-A in re DuPont help for afflicted boys' school.]

40. (Q) What can [257] accomplish in 1935, since he feels he has benefitted through going through so much - (A) (Interrupting) Then APPLY same! Knowledge alone that is not practical and workable is of little value, to ANYONE. Know the way is open before you. Then, especially through those periods from now to the fourth of July, apply self as

257-149 Page 7

to the sales activity. Through August and September make the greater application towards the medicine associations and connections. And you will find that the greater success may come to the body, and be able to approach much the same position regarding the SALES activities as in the past. In different channels - that is, in different lines - but of the same character.

41. (Q) Is this year right for him astrologically? (A) ALL years are right astrologically! This is very good, especially from the fifteenth of April to the twentieth of October.

42. (Q) Any further advice? (A) Study to show thyself approved unto the best within thine inner self. Keep in relationship with the Creative Forces as to make for the thinking better of self and self's conduct towards its fellow man; making for the correct balance mentally, physically, spiritually; and it will make that desired - a mental and material and spiritual success.

43. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file [GD's note: Sent letter to Reilly, with directions for adjustments, rubdowns, etc. Sent letter to Douglas T. Johnston, Chairman of the Board of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc. (whom you introduced to the Work), suggesting that he allow you to introduce him to explain the program for Work, future, etc.]
