Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C. (Body & enquiring mind. Ques.)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before.

2. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) Discuss the condition and advise me as to what I should do now in reference the Showers Bros. Co., and their President, Guy Burnett, refusing to go on with the order for General Electric? (A) In the consideration of the conditions, as we would find, it would be well that there be a thorough discussion or understanding as to what is the cause - or the interference with the acceptance of the order in its PRESENT form. If there is the ability to obtain the concessions necessary in BOTH directions (that is, from the Showers Company as well as the General Electric), then if there is still the incompatibility it would be well to seek in other factories the acceptance of the order; either those in the Western Pennsylvania or near to Bloomington. The difference arises from certain conditions or requirements, you see, for a certain character of decoration. This is expensive from the one angle and the requirements make for such that it becomes as a detriment on the other. If these CANNOT be brought together, then make for a change.

4. (Q) Will Dunning permit me to go on with him during this season? (A) Provided there is acceptance of the order, of course, and in time; and there is the delivery in something near to the proper period as has been set.

5. (Q) If I should go west to see Burnett, when should I go? (A) As soon as it can be made so that you can get the two together. To see one without the other wouldn't be very much use. Get them together!

6. (Q) Should I see Dunning before I go?

(A) The best is to take them together! Either get Burnett to come east or Dunning to go west!

7. (Q) How will this affect me with my furniture contract with Showers? (A) This depends upon what is done about it! It has been indicated to the body previously as to how and in what manner the approach should be made for the making of contracts. This has been GIVEN.

8. (Q) Should I attempt anything with Carolina Wood Products Co. with Gen. Elec., considering the conditions. (A) Not at the present, as we find.

9. (Q) Will you give the name of the factories I should go to that will accept the business? (A) As indicated, either those in Pennsylvania - Western Pennsylvania, or near Bloomington. Seek these out!

10. (Q) Please advise me what I should do now, considering all conditions and circumstances, to keep on my feet? (A) As has just been indicated.

11. (Q) Any other suggestions for the body at this time? (A) Get these TOGETHER! If these cannot be made compatible, then change it!
