1. EC: Yes - getting ready.

2. We have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; his associations and relations, and the varied activities of the body.

3. At this time we find that conditions and relations are not proving to be altogether satisfactory. There are quite a number of disappointments, quite a number of experiences that in a financial way become rather dear to the body under the existent circumstance.

4. But there are in a general way better conditions ahead for the body, if those principles are held that have been indicated for the body [257] in his dealings with those to whom or through whom he would distribute the products of those plants and factories that are represented by [257].

5. First, be honest with self in its representation of that which is being accomplished by the body. For, as there become failures here and there, that belie those attitudes taken by the body, they - the very activities become stumbling blocks to self's inner consciousness. Thus they bring as a fruit the lack or loss of confidence in self. Then the usual excuse becomes, "The activities of OTHERS are such THAT THEY are at fault" - when the beginning or the SEAT of same is either overanxiety or overindulgence in self's abilities becoming so exaggerated as to make for distressing conditions in the end.

6. Again, in the presenting of a product, not only is there to be considered the purchaser - and that such a purchaser receives all that is promised, and in the WAY and manner as IS promised - but that he receives the product at such a

257-162 Page 2

price that there may be had a profit in keeping with the work, the investment OF such purchaser! But not at the EXPENSE of the producer! Such purchasers should give, then, that which allows a reasonable, an equitable amount for such products.

7. Take those things into consideration also. Analyze self, self's abilities, self's products - or the products of the various organizations represented by the body in its activities.

8. Again we find, owing to the emergencies, there are those tendencies of the body to have TOO MANY irons in the fire, as it were, at once.

9. In that there are those necessities, how much better does it become for the concentration of the body on that which is FELT, KNOWN by the experience of the body, to be the more desirable, the more necessary product for distribution at a given season or time!

10. As to the associations with the furniture company, or Showers:

11. If the body will consider or look into same, it will see that the body was told that there would be a curtailment of territory UNLESS the body made those connections for proper representation. Also it was given that if there were the efforts on the part of the body for the distribution or sale of other factories' products that become in this or that or the other territory as competing lines with that the body represented, these would work to the detriment or toward a hardship for the body in being able to itself first keep faith with the factory and, second, for the factory to keep faith with self; for the very reasons as indicated.

12. This is not an idealistic viewpoint, but an IDEAL manner in which EVERY representative of a factory, of organizations desiring the products of the factory, should deal with self and those to whom the body is selling - and those whom the body is representing; and was explained, and has been illustrated to the body, time and again.

13. Take these in due consideration, then, in meeting the emergencies as well as the general conditions that confront the body at this time.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) Please advise me what has happened to my business affairs - (A) (Interrupting) As indicated. Yet, as given, conditions are not such that there is not the promise before self of being able to again become an OUTSTANDING representative of an organization in those fields of service and activity as the body may; IF those ideals are held as

257-162 Page 3

PRINCIPLES for all concerned!

16. (Q) From which that I am working on may I expect quickest and most substantial returns? (A) There are SO MANY that are JUST in the way of making for a breaking in the right direction. As we have indicated, though, those that are the seasonable goods, as it were.

17. (Q) Will the Warren Cabinet Co. of Warren, Penna., be a satisfactory outlet for me? (A) A very satisfactory outlet in certain lines, as has been indicated by the body's activities with same. And those orders that have been ACCEPTED will be delivered in an acceptable manner, IF the PRINCIPLES are adhered to in the way as indicated. Remember, information that may be given through these channels to the body has EVER been; not that the body may be put at an advantage point for the belittling of or taking advantage of another, but that all may work together for GOOD to all they touch! The body should take into consideration all the efforts on the part of the body WITH such information. Consider well how varied individuals known to the body have been many persuaded by the body, many INDUCED by the body to seek through this channel - without any persuasion; merely agreeing. And what has been the result? What has such meant to the body, or to those that sought in the varied manners? Only in so far as there was sincerity of purpose in seeking, for a ONENESS, for a unification of good in the experience of all, has there been brought that worthwhile. When the seeking has been for a selfish motive on the part of self, the more often the results have rebounded to that which has become questionable - and at times purely detrimental to the body. When there has been the seeking on the part of individuals because of the SINCERITY of purpose on the part of [257], because of sincere DESIRE to know truth and its SOURCE, wonderful experiences, wonderful awakenings have been brought in the lives of those concerned mentally, physically, spiritually. Then, in choosing such for self - DO NOT seek that ye may be presented with an insight keener than that of thine brother, or that thou may have the advantage over this or that

257-162 Page 4

salesman attempting to present something of an equal character as thine self! But remember that, in a salesman of ANY character, results depend eighty percent [80%] on the personality of the salesman, ten percent [10%] on the price, and ten percent [10%] on the product. Once established, then, the personality must continue to be up to standard and to par. ACT that way! And ye will find in all thy dealings that there will not only be a clean conscience before self but that the 'powers that be' will fight for thee. Or those influences that are as the BASIS of sincerity, as represented in the leaders of old, will be with thee; in that, if thou art true to thine self, the stars in their course will fight for thee; but if thou art upon those ways that make for question marks here as to thy veracity, thy sincerity, thy ability, as to thy consideration of each and everyone in the proper sphere that touches each proposition coming before self, then - as it were the moon and the sun are set upon thy efforts, and the darkness of trouble and discord arises from those seeds of uncertainty that bring distressing experiences in the activities of all. Just as thou hast experienced in thy associations with the G.E. account. Not only is the personality of self with the purchasers at a level or special activity that is above the average, but it is the same with those that are the INVESTORS in same; and these combined make for a condition wherein - given the equal chance - the preference is shown [257]. Then, on that basis keep same; and it will be found that these will prove to be most satisfactory accounts and arrangements.

18. (Q) Will Showers ship G.E. this season as agreed? (A) Ship as agreed.

19. (Q) Will I be paid for my work on G.E. business by Showers? (A) According to the agreements. Where there has been the cutting in this or that, it'll be cut from thine own expense.

20. (Q) Will I be successful in getting business from G.E., Dunning, for both Showers & Warren Furniture Co.? (A) In the way and manner as indicated.

21. (Q) Which will work out best for me? (A) Warren, in the PRESENT situation.

22. (Q) Will I get an order for Mersman tables from G.E.?

257-162 Page 5

(A) Should.

23. (Q) How many will Hendon & Patten, in 26 E Bldg., place with me? (A) Half of that which has been considered in the mind of the body. Three thirty-seven (337) as we see the number.

24. (Q) Will they buy Ferguson tables through me from Hoboken, N.J.? (A) Some.

25. (Q) Please tell me why I have not gotten results, or why Mrs. [189] and I have not gotten results we hoped for the office at 206 Lexington? (A) As just indicated.

26. (Q) Will refrigeration sales in N.Y. be satisfactory this year? (A) There will be some cut-in from some others that are making special efforts, but in a general manner these should be satisfactory. As we find, SPECIALTY plants' products and things will become the outstanding portion. Making special features, special jobs for special individual groups and activities.

27. (Q) Why didn't [994] take Radio business from me? [See 257-160] (A) Persuaded that there was too little income from same. Or this is an illustration of that we have just indicated. There was not the proper consideration given in the price range for there to be SUFFICIENT for [994] to CHANGE the working of the plant, for the amounts indicated for the orders.

28. (Q) Should I attempt to job merchandise in N.Y. to smaller dealers as suggested by Sailors? (A) In some instances, this would be very well.

29. (Q) What plan of operation should I follow now to bring the business to a success? (A) As indicated. This is particularly true in all the dealings with the varied activities as suggested.

30. (Q) What can I do to get Manning Bowman to place an order for advertising display stands from their office at 200 Fifth Ave., N.Y., or at factory, Meriden, Conn.? (A) Consider all of those things that have been indicated as a necessary adjunct for not only the selling of the product but the proper consideration of the buyer, the manufacturer, as well as self. When these are thought of, presented, kept in the way and manner indicated, there will be a much different reaction to or with those attempting to be sold - in fact, all concerned.

257-162 Page 6

31. (Q) How many will they buy? (A) That depends upon the self. Not so much the price as the whole consideration indicated; 80% of same will depend upon the abilities of self to present same in such a way and manner that it will be shown that there is an advantageous opportunity for not only those to whom they are being sold, but to self and to the factory that will make them for the body.

32. (Q) What about the G.E. Co.? Will they buy a large quantity of these stands? (A) Not a large quantity at first; in the fall it would be trebled, or increased to four, maybe ten times as much.

33. (Q) Would an electrical moving stand be better for G.E.? (A) This would be more in keeping, of course, with their general principles and activities.

34. (Q) To whom may I sell most of stands? (A) That depends upon self and self's activity.

35. (Q) How much will Bronfman pay me to settle suit? (A) Two-thirds.

36. (Q) When? (A) When it's presented in the way and manner as given time and time again. This has been allowed to drag too long already.

37. (Q) How much will Paris Medicine Co. pay to settle? (A) This has been indicated that it is out of the hands of the body, so that it must rely upon those that are representing the body in this connection.

38. (Q) Have my lawyers prepared the case properly for trial? (A) As we see, they have. As we find, there should be the ability to settle outside of the court as a proposition - if it is undertaken by the one leading - and in a satisfactory manner.

39. (Q) When should I get an order from Paris Medicine Co. of St. Louis? (A) That depends upon the activities.

40. (Q) Why the delay in trial? (A) Not ready on the part of its own lawyers.

41. (Q) Should I visit and discuss the matter with several who want to buy the business? (A) As indicated by the body, choose one or the other road. If there is the desire to settle it without and through the activities by the attempting to sell again, very well. If there are the activities of self in such a way and manner that this would or can be laid aside, or forgotten, or depend upon the activities on the part of the attorneys to handle same for self, then act in that way and manner. But be able to lay it aside and leave it there when the body is

257-162 Page 7

working on other things. And don't project it into the attempts to sell something to somebody else! They are not interested, and it destroys self's abilities.

42. (Q) What are the latest developments at Carolina Wood products Co., "Alden" at Asheville, as to their success? (A) Best that this be left as it is until it has shown itself capable and able to be on a better and more stable basis. And as suggested, let the time come when they approach the body; not the body approach those of the Carolina. There is known and it is a matter of record with the operators and with all associated with same as to what the body accomplished with same. But let them approach the body, not the body the Carolina. Keep to those things that you have. Draw in the lines more and more, and concentrate more and more on that and in the way and manner that is already in hand.
