Time of Reading 10:30 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. N.Y.C.
1. GC: You will have the physical body of [257] ..., N.Y.C., also his mental and spiritual self and again presents himself for a complete going over. You will also have his associates and business conditions around him, answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [257]; those conditions, circumstances, relations and activities in relation to the body and his environs.
3. As has been indicated oft to the body, in its mental self, there should be NOT that as of a STRENUOUSNESS upon self but rather the more often turning within - as to the purposes for which the body labors in its activities with others.
4. Know, as has oft been indicated, that if these activities are primarily for self-aggrandizement, self-indulgence, self-glorification, they MUST come to naught; and only in temporary matters may there be any satisfaction.
5. In the physical forces of the body - these respond so long as there are the precautionary measures kept in the manner which has been indicated. When there is neglect, overindulgence or the disregarding of the warnings, there are those disturbing conditions in which the inclinations have been indicated that become a part of the experience.
6. Then, it behooves the body, from the material standpoint of self's own preservation, to take thought - not that it may lord over any, but that it may be truly a channel for the manifestations of those things, those conditions which the BODY-mind so oft gives so verbosely as to its purpose. Are these excuses? Are these justifications? Truth, life, needs none of such - but rather that the glory of same be manifested in the dealings one with another.
7. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Why do the dull pains come at times on left side, front and back? (A) As has just been indicated.
9. (Q) What will remove callous or growth on right thumb?
257-202 Page 2
(A) As indicated, the care and attention is needed for the preservation. For the conditions that have grown, massage oft with Castor Oil - two or three times a day; and this does not mean once a day or once in three or four or five days!
10. (Q) What is cause of gases in system? (A) Acid.
11. (Q) What is the condition in rectal avenue? (A) As indicated, when there are those precautions taken these are in keeping with the better influences and forces. As given, these should receive those attentions occasionally, in the manner in keeping with the activities of the body.
12. (Q) Are there any hemorrhoids showing at inner top? (A) No.
13. (Q) Should I continue Eno Salt - if so, how often? (A) When needed continue with same, and Oil also.
14. (Q) What foods should body continue to eat or not to eat? (A) These have been outlined again and again. And if the body will just keep such in mind, they may become the HABIT of the body and not that to be dwelt upon; so that the appetites call for those things that are creative and helpful and beneficial, and not have to take thought as to whether "I can eat this today or tomorrow," or as to whether "I have taken this, that or the other, or have left off and not eaten at all" and thus, through the activities produced in the system - which occur at times those influences are active wherein when the gastric forces attempt to act upon the system they rebel against the very activities and nature of the things taken! Divide the diet into a twenty percent proportion of acid-producing foods and eighty percent alkaline-producing. What are these? How oft hast thou proclaimed how thou knew about foods and food values! Then apply same to self and not induce others! But by the induction of thine own understanding and knowledge into self, MANIFEST it!
15. (Q) What is condition of upper right front molar tooth? (A) Needs local attention.
16. (Q) What about the other teeth? (A) Some of the others need attention also.
17. (Q) Will body be able to take a rest this winter? (A) This depends upon whether the body WILLS to, or the body so conducts self that he HAS to!
18. (Q) Where will body be able to go to Florida for a while in December? (A) This is a contradiction to other suggestions being
257-202 Page 3
sought! What is the desire of the body? These all should be consistent, and not what is BEST for this or that! What is the best? That which gives self advantage over another, or taking advantage of a circumstance or condition, or allowing self to be used for the channel through which greater OPPORTUNITIES may come to self AND to others? THESE questions can only be answered within self, according to that as indicated - WHAT IS THY PURPOSE - IN SELF?
19. (Q) Should [257] plan to go to Mexico City to aid [903]'s aunt? (A) If that is the desire, and circumstances are such, it is well. If it is for ulterior motives, no.
20. (Q) As to the Brunswick Company - and general business - Should [257] proceed to work out a plan with Julius Kahn of 3097 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland, as to purchase of control of the [994] Company of ..., Ohio, or should [257] develop other plans? (A) As has been indicated for these associations, there are conditions, there are urges that are being met in each. Some have not proven satisfactory. Some have been very well. These should be weighed WELL within self. How readest thou, "Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers"? This isn't saying that either is an unbeliever, for BOTH would declare they ARE believers - but are thy policies, are thy activities consistent one with another? If THESE are determined, they are well to plan. If they are NOT, VERY bad.
21. (Q) Should [257] proceed with Thos. Buchanan of 1501 B'way to work out a plan between Columbia Broadcasting Co. and the Brunswick Co.? (A) This is well to be considered, but there will be some little time - some seven to nine months before it may bring fruition; and then the fruit depends upon the manner or character of seed sown in the varied connections of same.
22. (Q) Would Lehman Bros. be a good banking firm or would Kuhn Loeb & Co. be better for a financial firm to make a merger possible to get advertising money to make successful the Radio-Television, Inc., owners of the Brunswick name? (A) Kuhn Loeb & Company.
23. (Q) What can I accomplish in England with the Brunswick people and also with the record changer people if I go the second week in December? (A) While the opportunities there are very well, we find there needs to be builded GREATER DESIRE as it were for such connections, among those associations and connections that may be aroused to activity, before this is undertaken.
257-202 Page 4
As we find, if it were attempted and the connections worked, it would be much better in February than in January.
24. (Q) Is Republic Steel prior preferred stock as owned by Julius Kahn an investment of safety and promise for [257]? (A) As a holding, yes; as speculation, not so good. But there will be quite an advance. But very spasmodic.
25. (Q) What dividend will they pay in December? (A) Very good.
26. (Q) When should he sell Republic prior preferred stock, and at what price? (A) This depends upon whether it is as a speculation or as an investment.
27. (Q) What other companies show good investments and dividend possibilities for November and December? (A) All of steel.
28. (Q) How long should each one be held? (A) Until all of the undertakings, all great quantities of these that are to be used in the various manners by the government, and trade agreements where such are being presented to others, are at least well under way - or consideration. Just before Christmas reinvesting and then in March all of these will present good opportunities.
29. (Q) How best can I approach the officials of the Bank of U.S. to effect a quick settlement of debt at about $200? (A) Only in that manner in which each interest is upon a constructive business basis.
30. (Q) How can I effect a quick settlement on the same basis? (A) Just as indicated.
31. (Q) Who is best to approach for a quick settlement? (A) These all come through their regular channels. How oft have ye been warned as to how ye have spoiled many a good association by the rabbling with those in various associations and connections, by going over the head or by attempting to use a minor associate as a prize; thus lessening the own prestige and even hindering at times those whom ye have attempted to use as the prize!
32. (Q) What amount will attorney Pilz of Nevius Brett & Kellogg, 115 B'way take on Manhattan Square account for full settlement of [257] account? (A) We do not find other than that demanded. [GD's note: Rest of rdg. was copied into Work Rdg. 254-103 Reports of Reading.]
33. (Q) What should and can [257] do to help Hugh Lynn Cayce with the Association work in New York?
257-202 Page 5
(A) Just be an aid - in not OVERTALKING but in presenting the own experience.
34. (Q) What approach can [257] and Cayce make to bring help from the group around Mr. [1568], Mr. [437] and Mr. [1564] to get funds for Edgar Cayce and the Work? (A) BEST that these be by CONSTRUCTIVE thought and activity on the part of [257] and Cayce. RATHER than OTHER means to induce or impel!
35. (Q) What plan can [257] suggest to Mrs. [1602] to raise $50,000 for the future preservation and the present development of the records of Edgar Cayce and his life's work? (A) Let that rest on its OWN source of obtaining same.
36. (Q) What can [257] do to help get Edgar Cayce on the Radio Program now that Hugh Lynn is started? [WORK, MYSTERIES OF THE MIND program?] (A) Doesn't need to be on the Radio Program - Doesn't want to be on it! [See his next reading 257-203.] 257-203.]
