Time of Reading 11:15 A.M. to 11:35 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y.
1. GC: You will have the body, mind and material surroundings of [257]. Please go over the physical first and advise [257] of his present condition since his operation and what to do to further his recovery. Please answer the questions, after you have reviewed him.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [257]; this we have had before. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) Was the red coloring in the stool Wednesday and Thursday caused by blood or some other cause? (A) Caused by blood. This as we find was a discharge much lower down than the area of the operative measures, and was from the sides of the wall, but from the folds and not the conditions indicated in the first.
4. (Q) What will stop the puff arising above the scar from time to time? (A) A gentle relaxing of the body through the masseur. Rather than the adjustments, have that as will rest the body. The body is overtaxing self too much. This gives sympathetic reactions, as indicated in this puffing. The better eliminations are necessary, by general distribution - through the massage - of the excesses of used energies.
5. (Q) Can the scar be further reduced in size? (A) We wouldn't worry about this. Rather keep it in a good condition.
6. (Q) Should body continue to wear the support or a different type? (A) We would wear the support, though it may be adjusted just a little bit differently.
7. (Q) Are the morning walks sufficient for the body's exercise? (A) This does very well, but it is not or should not be sufficient. Have an exercise that is not too strenuous, but that requires more of thinking than just walking; though there's no better exercise - depends much upon the companionship and what's talked about!

8. (Q) How often should the massages be given? (A) Whenever extremely tired.
9. (Q) Why the pain occasionally in the left side above the wound? How to eliminate? (A) This as we find is more of a sympathetic reaction; or the reflexes still active in the system, especially when the body is extremely tired.
10. (Q) Would wines be a good body builder if taken with meals? If so, what types are best? (A) Red wine, and not too sweet. Nor too much of it nor too often but this is very good - especially where starches are taken.
11. (Q) Is beef permissible as a food in any form? (A) Very rarely should this be taken, though occasionally a roast - if well done - would be very well.
12. (Q) How can body keep weight regular and to its requirement? (A) By the general exercise and the watching of the diet.
13. (Q) Considering illness and operation, what is best weight to maintain? (A) Let that be rather the outcome of activities, than worrying abut "I'll just weight 155 or 165, and won't be more or less." Rather keep the body physically fit, and let the weight be in keeping with the activities and the general exercises of the body.
14. (Q) How can body further improve his time budget that he has followed in past weeks? (A) Just stick to it and do it. Be consistent. Don't be sometimes "I'll do it this week," and then "I can't do it this week, but I'll get back to it next week." That's not very consistent.
15. (Q) Has the colon completely healed? (A) Healed.
16. (Q) What other healing is there yet to be? (A) That of the sympathetic nature, which is not of a physical but partially physical and partially mental.
17. (Q) What warnings will aid the body to improve mentally and physically? (A) Those that have been consistently given for many years. Be rather consistent; and while being persistent do not overtax, nor undervalue the needs of change of thought, activity, environment, and being able to play as well as work.
18. (Q) Should enemas be taken at any time? What kind? (A) These as we find are not so well at present. They may be advisable a little later, but if they are taken we would use rather the oil.

19. (Q) Should medicines be taken of any kind? (A) This depends upon circumstances, to be sure; not for conditions as exist in the present.
20. (Q) Is badminton or indoor tennis good for body? (A) Very well, if not overdone.
21. (Q) Is bicycling good for body? (A) This is rather strenuous - unless it could be done on one that didn't move! The exercise of this nature is very well, but pulling up and down hill, etc., is not so well.
22. (Q) What vegetables best in next 90 days? (A) These, as we have indicated, grown in the vicinity where the body is, when possible or practical.
23. (Q) What fruits best for body? (A) All fruits.
24. (Q) Which soups are good for the body? (A) Any soups that are palatable.
25. (Q) Are corn breads injurious considering operation? (A) If it's of egg bread, no - or hot water.
26. (Q) What will now broaden body's mental and spiritual development? (A) Same things - they haven't changed!
27. (Q) In what way can body contribute to the national emergency problems? (A) This depends upon the desires of the body. The general activities where needed are well.
28. (Q) Should body try to own common stocks to increase his necessary earning power for living expenses? (A) If so desired, but in the present situations it is rather a problem as to which ones.
29. (Q) Should he hold the Convertible Preferred stock of the Republic Steel? (A) Hold.
30. (Q) The common stock of the Republic Steel for an improvement in value. When should it be bought? (A) At present.
31. (Q) How long should he hold it? (A) For at least thirty to sixty days.
32. (Q) Should [257] begin preparations for a new association such as Espey, or Freed or Garrod for an exclusive radio for 1941 now - or is there a better engineering firm to build the Brunswick Radio for next year? (A) This depends upon what is to be done regarding the firm, or associations or connections, and whether it's to be supplied by self or bought through others. As we find, this should take consideration, as to whether there's the possibility or probability of having the own factory.

33. (Q) The British Consul called on [257] Friday morning. Is there anything British that would add to [257]'s business profitably and help develop Brunswick interests? (A) Not in the immediate. It is a very good contact to be held for later developments.
34. (Q) Did [257] make a good decision in bringing Alfred Englander into the Brunswick business? (A) If there is the cooperation on the part of each, very well. The ability of each and the ability of working together is very good; but will require some concessions and some work on the part of each to make same plausible or feasible; else the combative influences as will arise from the general associations will prove detrimental to both.
35. (Q) Are Brunswick and [257] getting the full benefit of his ability? (A) That's to be judged from them, and not from here!
36. (Q) How can we best develop and use his ability? (A) It's just been indicated.
37. (Q) What will be the result of the [257] Winogrond meeting as to financing Brunswick Mersman deal held Friday in [257]'s office? (A) This has not taken definite form, nor opinions been passed as yet. This as we find may work or lead to and through the channels in which this may become a reasonable or plausible condition.
38. (Q) What will be the best arrangement for [257] in developing or expanding the Brunswick interest with Winogrond and Mersman or otherwise? (A) As indicated, this has not reached those proportions where it has taken on any definite form as yet.
39. (Q) Referring to the blood in the stool - is this a danger sign, or anything to be warned of? (A) As just indicated, and again and again, it is the overtiring of the body! and the poor eliminations which occur at times. It is not an alarming condition under existent circumstances. Rather be alarmed at how inconsistent the body is in caring for self.
