1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [259]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, there are in the present very good physical conditions in many ways. Yet, there are those specific that may or may not react to correcting themselves.
4. Through external influence a pressure has been produced in that area from the 4th dorsal through the 6th, that is impairing the flow of impulse to those areas across the body here. This has not as yet formed a lesion. Exercise of activities to produce the more perfect alignment MAY bring about corrective forces. Yet, detrimental influences are being wrought in the splenic nerve center as well as under the right shoulder blade, as to affect the assimilating of certain food elements for the body.
5. Hence the pains that occur at times in these areas.
6. As we find, the better way of correction would be to have at least two general osteopathic adjustments; these to be gently done, especially in the area of the upper dorsals - as indicated; coordinating the rest of the cerebrospinal centers with same - especially through the sacral and lumbar, and in the whole of the cervical area. DO have at least two general treatments, with the correcting of these areas indicated.
7. After such corrections have been made, we would begin with regular exercise of morning before dressing, and of evening when ready to retire; especially of this nature:
8. Mornings - with plenty of air in the room, standing, stretch the body to the full height. Rise on toes and at the same time gently raise the arms, so that there is the exercise of the muscular forces as well as the raising of the structural portion of the body. Standing erect, on the toes and with the arms outstretched, swing the body gently (with the hands high above head) to the left - once, twice.
259-10 Page 2
Gently relax - rise again the same way and then swing to the right - once, twice.
9. Evenings - Rise on the toes, extending hands high above head, and then bend forward - so that the hands almost touch the floor.
10. Do this and we will make the better activity of the sinew and muscles of the nerves and the tissue along the whole of the area.
11. There are also those tendencies for too much sugar being created in the system, forming overweight.
12. Refrain from sweets.
13. DO take grape juice four times each day (Welch's, preferably). Stir two ounces of grape juice in one ounce of plain water (not carbonated water) thirty minutes before each meal and before retiring.
14. Be careful in certain combinations. Do not take white bread, white potatoes and spaghetti all at the same meal. These may be taken in moderation if taken separately and distributed through the meals of the week. But if these are refrained from, as well as too much of sweets, it will bring nearer the normal weight for this body.
15. Ready for questions.
16. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file [GD enclosed an extra sheet of directions for Osteopath. Referred was: Dr. Meredith White, 432 First Nat'l Bk. Bldg., Mobile, Alabama.] .]
