Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Conn. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [260].

2. Now, as we find, while many conditions physically are very good, there are those disturbances that were they corrected in the beginnings would relieve the body, and prevent distresses later on that would be much harder to cope with.

3. These disturbances have to do with specific conditions that are gradually, through the nervous system and through the impoverishment to portions of the body, bringing those tensenesses and distresses in portions of the body.

4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [260] we are speaking of, present in this room:

5. First, in the BLOOD SUPPLY we find there are indications of the disturbances that affect the nervous system. Hence the nervous system is affected, such as to bring about affectations to portions of the system, rather than being the cause.

6. It is this same character of disturbance that makes for an impoverishment through the activities of pressures, that produce the disorder in some portions of the physical organism.

7. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM there is indicated those pressures that form, from the adhesions that are existent in the pelvic organs - as well as the disturbances that make for an irritation to the muco-membranes, through the activity of the eliminating system, in the cerebrospinal AND sympathetic system. These are affectations, and produce effects upon the organs of the body in their reaction through the system.

8. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves:

9. We find that the brain forces and the activities of the sensory organism are very good. There ARE some distresses brought sympathetically to the nervous forces of the sensory

260-1 Page 2

system, as indicated by the accentuations in the organs of the sensory system at times, making for the strains that produce at times those conditions in the head and eyes; again making those fullnesses that occur from the activity of the organs as related to the bronchi and the activities of same.

10. The throat and lungs show only the effects of a disturbed circulation; not as much as occurs to the exterior portion or the lymph circulation at times, but as a minor disturbance - and a reflex condition.

11. Heart's action is near normal.

12. Digestive system or organism shows more the effects of those pressures in the pelvic organs, that show reflexes through the activities in the digestive system. Hence the hepatic circulation becomes involved in same, those activities to the kidneys and to the liver - in their circulation - make for a disturbance to the digestive system. This, then, is more of a reflex condition than a direct cause, though at times produces as much distress as though it were the cause.

13. The pelvic organs and those adhesions make for the basis or the specific conditions, causing irritations that disturb the glands in the kidney area and producing a reflex to the hepatic circulation - as to cause those disturbances in same. With the relief of these, and with those general activities in the system as to create a normal balance or coordination in the activities of the nervous forces as related to the disturbances or the organs themselves, there should be brought about the normal conditions for this body, [260].

14. We will find that by the removal of those pressures there may be created sufficient activity through the blood supply, and the releasing of the pressures that disturb the nervous equilibrium of the system (that make for the carrying of the circulation throughout those portions that have been disturbed) would not only relieve those reflex conditions in the various portions of the system but bring back to normal activity those organs that have been disturbed - through the adhesions and the conditions that are disturbed locally through these.

15. In correcting these, we would use the mechanical appliance in the form of manipulations that would make for corrective measures in the lumbar and upper sacral region, coordinating these with the activities of the crossing in the body at the upper cervical and the upper dorsal areas.

16. As we find, this would require about sixteen to eighteen such adjustments and treatments.

260-1 Page 3

17. Also we would apply to the body those vibrations in the low electrical form, that may be found in the Radio Active Appliance (in its EASIER form), that will make for a stimuli to the circulation, (relieving these pressures) and to the lymph and blood supply.

18. As to the diet, this should include the foods that make the greater alkalin reaction for the body. Those that have been classed for the activities in the system are good. Keep away from those things that would produce irritation to the disturbance already referred to in the hepatic circulation; or that affects the kidneys directly.

19. Do these, and we will bring about the normal forces for this body.

20. Ready for questions.

21. (Q) Is an operation for the cervix necessary? (A) With the correction of those impingements where lesions have been formed, that disturb the organs, we would find that an operation would not be necessary; for this would only (through operative measures) produce a greater STRAIN upon the system. While the ABSORPTION of the disturbing forces (through the corrective and manipulative measures) would require, of course, a little bit longer, it would be much EASIER on the body and keep - for the general forces in the body - an equilibrium that would be much better; also - by the GENERAL coordination - relieve all those stresses in the various portions, that are reflex conditions.

22. (Q) What method should be used for these corrections? (A) As indicated, the general MECHANICAL correction; that is, deep osteopathic CORRECTIVE measures, see? with the manipulation sufficient in the upper dorsal and cervical to relieve the pressure in all portions of soft tissue disturbed by a slowed circulation through the body.

23. (Q) What about the sinus trouble? (A) As indicated, this is a REFLEX condition from the slowed circulation - and poisons created in various portions of the system ACCUMULATING in any portion where there is a disturbance through cold or congestion, as is seen in sinus. This is REFLEX, rather than direct. The specific condition is in the pelvis, produced by adhesions - see?

24. (Q) How should the Radio-Active be used? How often and how long? (A) This will be found to be more effective when the body rests in the day, or just before or at the time of retiring. The attachments should be to the wrist first and to the opposite ankle next, for a period of thirty minutes to an hour; or an hour and a half would not be too long if it is

260-1 Page 4

taken in the day. This will be found to be effective in relieving the TIRED feeling that comes from activity on the feet.

25. (Q) Always to the right wrist first? (A) To the wrist first. Of course, each day it is changed from one side of body to the other - but always attach to the wrist first.

26. (Q) Will this full treatment relieve the constipation and itching? (A) This will relieve the constipation and itching; that is, provided the diet is looked after in the manner that it is kept more alkalin and less of the sweets, see? This gradually changes the hormones in the blood, that relieves those tendencies for irritation from acid reaction - that is the INCLINATION of this body, through the activity of disturbed nerve and blood supply, and blood becoming surcharged with poisons that are prevented from being carried through the whole circulation and being eliminated. The manipulations that would be given for the GENERAL system will act more for the correction of the constipation, which is from inflammation through the irritating to the nerve reflexes through the pelvis and colon area, from the condition in the cervix or the organs of the pelvis.

27. (Q) Should any laxative be used at all, until these corrections have been made? (A) This has been found necessary, and will be necessary to relieve the condition for a time - until the corrections are thoroughly made.

28. (Q) What laxative would you advise as being best for this body? (A) A rotation of laxatives would be better. One day the Milk of Magnesia, the next day Milk of Bismuth, the next day that with the phenolphthalein content - or that which is prepared with agar, phenolphthalein and the active forces of psyllium (called Emul-Psyllo).

29. (Q) Are enemas advisable? (A) Enemas are always helpful in relieving the distresses, as will be douches in the beginning of the relieving of pressure.

30. (Q) Any external application for the itching? [Pruritus ani for 7 yrs.] (A) This may be better aided by the removal of the acids from the system, and with the douches - in which, as we find, it would be better to use antiseptic properties that relieve this NATURE of condition, see?

31. (Q) What would you advise using in douche?

260-1 Page 5

(A) Glyco-Thymoline; teaspoonful to the quart of water.

32. (Q) Would this treatment as a whole take care of the vulvitis? (A) The treatment given is to RELIEVE this very condition, see? The specific condition, you see, is an adhesion in the organs of the pelvis. The irritation to these organs makes the disturbance in the nervous system, which - with the disturbed circulation - produces the humor, as it were, in the lymph circulation attempting to meet it; producing that irritation in the cervix, in the vulva, in the digestive system, and being carried back into the system (in the lymph circulation) through the soft portions of the face and head, irritating to the throat, and the like. So, with the removal of the pressures, and the absorption of the disturbed forces or tissue that PRODUCES the irritation, all of these conditions will be made to adjust themselves, see?

33. (Q) How often should the osteopathic treatments be given? (A) In the beginning these should be given at least every other day! Do these, and we will find that we will bring normal conditions for this body, [260].
