Time of Reading 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Long Island, N.Y.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [261], present in this room, who seeks further advice, counsel and guidance as to the change to be made in his present work. You will answer the questions which he will submit regarding this.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [261] - this we have had before.
3. Now, as we find, some progress has been made by the body in making contacts in the contemplation of the various associations that may be necessary in making the changes, and in following out those lines that have been outlined for the body.
4. Ready for questions.
5. (Q) In course of investigation I came across plans of the Codisco Corporation a brief description of which I hold in my hand. An opening as Treasurer or in charge of the finances is available. Should I endeavor to obtain this position which while in the field suggested in the last reading is in a different branch of it? (A) As we find, this offers an opportunity for an association that may be made rather satisfactory in every way and manner. While this does not enter directly those fields as outlined, it offers the great opportunity in the present and does lay the foundation for associations that lead into fields that will be as far or farther reaching; only, as we find, requiring a little greater period of time for the immediate development of the activities of the association or corporation; hence we would find that with the ideals and the policies of the body in such an association it would be very much worth considering at the present time.
6. (Q) Are the prospects of this proposition bright, and is its personnel capable? (A) The prospects, as given, are well - are good. It will
261-7 Page 2
require somewhat a longer period of development than in the refrigeration or the household utilities corporations would require for immediate development. The personnel, as we find, is good, and the associations of the body and the body's abilities with such a personnel would in the main be a most satisfactory association. Do not stand in the position of becoming contentious in the policies of the organization, as has been outlined, but do not in ANY manner retrieve from the ideal the body has held and does hold toward such operations of such an organization or association. This is in reference to some conditions that the personnel of the contemplated activities of the organization would enter into, for the immediate conditions, and that are not altogether in line with the ideals of the body [261]; but BE FIRM with the ideals, and point out in the proper manner those conditions that might or would make for questions, or laying for those policies that would be open for question in the greater expansion of the undertaking.
7. (Q) Is its capital structure sound? (A) Good!
8. (Q) What are its weak points? (A) These we are trying to pass out, or give out, so that it is seen! for in setting up such an organization, do not set as precedents that which will want to or needs be retrieved in the final analysis of the larger associations, or that must lead to the position where it would necessarily be retrieved or retreated from - see?
9. (Q) Would I find associates and work congenial? (A) As we find, in the greater part, as given, these would be most helpful one to another.
10. (Q) Am I capable of doing my full share in company? (A) Capable; and offers, as given, an opportunity of becoming of worth to many in directions and manners in which the abilities are peculiarly fitted for such actions and operations.
11. (Q) Other possible connections that have presented themselves are Treasureship of fruit and shipping company, organization of company to act as cooperative securities purchasing agency for a group of banks, and head of a real estate liquidation company subsidiary of a mortgage guaranty company. Should these all be discarded and body concentrate on finance company and/or Codisco Corporation? (A) In considering all of these, as has been given, this finance company offers a real opportunity. While

associations in some of the other organizations, especially in the mortgage and guaranty company, offer a field of operations that would be not so luxuriative at the beginning - and the developments from the material standpoint would offer the lesser activities in the mental and physical self, the greater opportunities - as we find - are in the finance corporation. If, or should there arise those conditions that prevent, or cause too great a question in the mind of self as regarding the finance corporation, then consider first and foremost the mortgage distribution association second.
12. (Q) Should the Codisco Corporation be given preference over the finance? (A) We would give the Codisco the first preference, then to the mortgage company.
13. (Q) Are there any ways that I can improve my memory, particularly for people, their faces, names and facts pertaining to them? (A) The condition in the body is as this: Facts pertaining to figures are often too easily, as it were, recalled by the body; while those pertaining to individuals, their names, their abilities, their associations, etc., leave too readily, as it were, without leaving an impression. Beginning by the association, then, of faces and names and abilities WITH facts or figures will gradually develop for the self, the body, those abilities to recall much that will be most helpful. This is rather that of purely MENTAL training by association of ideas. Begin with those that may be the more simple, as is seen in association of such and such an individual, associate such and such as related to the figures and numbers that have to do with the association of the individual, and there will be gradually built that which will be as tabulation of many hundreds - yea, thousands of individuals, their associations, their relations, and their developments in certain fields.
14. (Q) Is there any advice regarding any physical condition, or health of the body? [See 261-1 through 261-4 for gastritis.] (A) These, as we have had before, we find as given, are very good in many respects. There should be kept much of that which has gradually been built as innately necessary, but let it be rather that the activities are those for certain results, rather than necessary that certain results come. These will make quite a difference in the activities of the body as related to health; for the basic conditions in the physical forces of the body are much improved from those as we have had here before.
