Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [261], located in Room ... at ... Park Ave., N.Y.C., who seeks advice and guidance as to his physical condition, as to the general business situation, and as to personal business problems. You will answer the questions he submits, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [261]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, in the physical forces of the body there are those tendencies for the body to get easily tired. There is an increase in the amount of the toxic forces throughout the body; with some tendencies in the digestive system to be easily upset.

4. In this connection we find that there should be more consistent use of the hydrotherapy and massage.

5. The electrical forces would best be taken with the Violet Ray. The body can best do this itself. Obtain a medium priced Violet Ray (hand machine). Do not turn on full force, and use ONLY the rod applicator, or the applicator that is held in the hand. But use this also on the feet; that is: Place the connection or anode or applicator on a piece of glass (just a pane of glass put on the floor, you see), and then place the foot on same. The next day take it in the opposite hand, the next the opposite foot, the next the opposite hand. Do not take this, though, for more than a minute at a time for the first week or ten days. Afterwards it may be increased to a minute and a half or two minutes, as the general condition of the circulation and the general toxic forces improve. Be mindful to take these as indicated for the body, in the present; not the bulb applicator or as of the hand electricity, but the high vibrations that go directly to the body - though very mild at first, and take these just before retiring of night. One day hold the applicator in the right hand, the next day put the left foot on it (with the applicator placed on glass first, you see), the next day hold the right foot on it, the

261-35 Page 2

next day hold it in the left hand, see? and so on.

6. Also take regular gym exercise at regular periods in the evening - say twice or three times a week should be sufficient in the beginning; such as hand ball, running, and such things as that, but not of too strenuous a nature.

7. As to the diet - while we would continue with the vitamins - we would add the Vitamin B Complex after the toxic forces have been reduced, but not before. This as we find will be the more helpful for the body.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) For some months there seems to have been a gradual increase in toxic forces in the system, at times becoming quite bad. Will you comment? (A) This has just been indicated, and the better means will be through the hydrotherapy treatments. But do not take the electrical treatments other than those as we have suggested here.

10. (Q) In recent weeks at times my nerves are very much on edge with a feeling of tenseness all through the body. Will you comment? (A) This, as we have indicated, is the result of this increased toxic condition and the upsetting of the general nervous system, especially as related to diet. Hence in the diet itself we would keep close to those things that we have indicated; as much of gluten foods that can be assimilated. Even Knox Gelatin once a day would be well, though in the beginning we would divide the quantity as usually recommended to be taken. Take about a quarter teaspoonful in a glass of water, preferably about three or four o'clock in the afternoon - as a "pick-up" for the body. Then the general foods that have been outlined; not too much of meats, yet sufficient quantity of fish, fowl and lamb to give the vital forces for the body. Vegetables, of course - those such as okra are especially good for this body, if they can be taken. Of course, the whole grain cereals, milk and the like are desirable, as well as the yolk of an egg at least once a day and the like.

11. (Q) At times I have considerable mucous in my throat. Is this part of the general condition or should it be treated separately? (A) This should disappear with the use of the hydrotherapy,

261-35 Page 3

and especially the exercise. Be very well of evening and of morning, especially, to gargle the throat with Glyco-Thymoline. If a little of this is swallowed it is not harmful, but will assist in removing the toxic Forces; and the gargling of it will be well for the throat.

12. (Q) Is there any obstruction or undue sluggishness in the intestinal tract that requires special attention? (A) As we find, the general conditions improved will remove these. It may be necessary to purify the colon with a colonic occasionally, but these for this body should not be too often - though are well to keep the intestinal tract clean. Of course, the Charcoal tablets, as well as the Glyco-Thymoline, will aid in keeping the stomach sweet.

13. (Q) Should I discontinue use of Vitaga Compound and Quin B Complex tablets as prepared by Freeda Agar Products, 110 East 41st St., N.Y.C., and take the B Complex? (A) We will find that the B Complex here will be much more preferable for this body to any of the others. Others are not necessary, as we find, if there is kept a better balance in the diet towards those forms indicated, and especially with the taking of the Knox Gelatin.

14. (Q) Any other comments as to health conditions? (A) These as we find are the better conditions for the health of this body.

15. (Q) It now appears that in spite of efforts of the government to hold them back, commodity prices and the cost of living are going to continue to advance. Will you comment? (A) There is considerable influence being brought to bear by varied groups. As we find, this will eventually be taken into consideration and there will be a general or better stabilization of prices, as well as the wages to meet the general needs. While these may make flurries in certain sections and areas, these will stabilize the currency and the activity of the government.

16. (Q) What types of investments offer the best protection for investors of their principal and of the purchasing power of their incomes? (A) Those of utilities in the present, as we find, and will be for some time to come, even following the eventual establishing of peace relationships through the world. These then will still offer the safer investments - such as the home appliances and those things that have been and are being curtailed so as to necessitate the better placing of same in homes throughout the land. Any electrical

261-35 Page 4

appliances, all forms of home appliances, those of greater conveniences - all of these will offer the greater investment now and for the future - for the next few years, at least.

17. (Q) To the extent that stocks are used, what types of stocks are preferable? (A) All of those that have to do with supplying to all government activities, at the present time.

18. (Q) Any specific examples? (A) Those in steel, copper or such natures.

19. (Q) It has been suggested that the post-war prospects of Canada are sufficiently bright to make present investment in stocks of Canadian corporations attractive. Will you comment and make suggestions? (A) There will be, to be sure, the post-war relationships with the United States that will make for better conditions between all forms of investment that are of the same character or nature in the Canadian activities.

20. (Q) At the Rdg. of last Nov. it was recommended that our investment counsel activities be broadened by providing a cooperative service for persons of more moderate means. Since then we have greatly improved and developed our basic material for such a service would have to be supplied on a wholesale rather than on an individual basis. Will you comment? (A) These should include services where individuals are in the corporations or activities where their services now give more of spending, or more use of moneys. To be sure, with the general taxations and taxing conditions, these are being used as a means for government; but these will offer channels. All of those workers in all forms of activities offer channels through which investments may be secured, not so much by mere advertising but by the activities of agents or solicitors or of such natures. And these as we find will aid in holding or establishing a better condition after the war reactions, as well as through the period of the readjustments.

21. (Q) We have distributed between 300 and 400 copies of our booklet "An Investment Policy for a Period of Economic and Social Change." Do you recommend the printing and distribution of a second edition at this time? (A) By all means we would have the second edition, and let these reach into such groups and activities as indicated.

22. (Q) How should we make distribution? (A) As just indicated, not so much by advertising as by word of mouth and by the chain groups through representatives of such, or salesmen.

23. (Q) In order to secure clients of moderate means, after

261-35 Page 5

we have developed a service suitable for them, should we use advertising or salesmen or a combination of the two? (A) The combination, but more the direct contact - for this is a form of education, of course, to these forms of groups.

24. (Q) If advertising is used, what particular media do you recommend? (A) As indicated, while some advertising may be used, the greater results will be obtained by the direct contacts with the groups, see? If any advertising media would be used, use the investment or bank journals.

25. (Q) Besides the present booklet, what other material should we prepare and have available as sales aids? (A) As may be prepared as of general sales talk, or general sales conference, or the necessity for this not only as a stabilization but to insure those of the moderate means to establish themselves as working with the progress of the country, see?

26. (Q) Should I attempt to bring about any mergers of other investment counsel organizations with ours as a means of expansion, or should we attempt only to expand from within? (A) If those abilities to coordinate the activities of other investment counsels or groups should come within the scope of the activities of the body, [261], it may be well to consider such. As to just who or where, this will best come by the policies of each being closer in accord, one with another, see?

27. (Q) Have you any suggestions regarding mergers? (A) As just indicated, they are not of an individual nature, but should be considered if they arise, and only where there is not to be a change in policies. For, as indicated again and again, they have ideals here and these have saved the counsel and saved the experiences oft. Don't depart too far from these. If such a combination or coalition brings the necessity of changing the policies, better leave it off and work alone.

28. (Q) Have you any other suggestions for the improvement or enlargement of our investment counsel activities? (A) Only as suggested in the general, or in the specific manners as related to the moderate investor.

29. (Q) Any advice or counsel regarding general conditions of the country? (A) As we find, while through the next year or so there will be some serious periods, when so much is considered as being required of those who have surplus for investments, - it is safe, it is sound, and it will come through so long as there are kept the ideals of freedom for a purpose.

30. We are through for the present.
