Time of Reading Room ..., ... St., 12:00 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. San Francisco, Calif. (Body and enquiring mind - Questions regarding his mental and material affairs)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [270] - this we have had before; also many of those conditions and circumstances as surround the body. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) Advise me if the undertaking will prove a safe and profitable investment coming through my friend J. Ralph McInery, a mining engineer, who suggests that I subscribe to a block of stock in a company to be formed, of which he is to be president, to take over and operate certain mining property of the Morning Star Group located in San Bernardino County, California, eight miles South of Cima in the Ivanpah Mining District. (A) Provided this is in the ways and manners as has been outlined as the policies for same. Should they be changed or altered to follow some of the policies of those who are the relatives and related to the organizer, and the one who so advised, it will NOT be a profitable undertaking! but if the policies as set forth are in the individual who ADVISED the body, and who is to act in the capacity of the manager, and if he does not listen to those others, then it may be expected to be a profitable undertaking.

3. (Q) Will the operation of the property under McInery's supervision be successful? (A) Haven't we just given which way this should be handled? One, as we find, has been that UNDER the supervision or policies as set forth by the individual, but if it is to be handled BY or THROUGH those who have been, and who MAY attempt to influence, it will not be a successful venture or operation!

4. (Q) Is the property as valuable and the resources as great as McInery's survey and estimate says it is? (A) As valuable. If handled properly.

5. (Q) Please tell me of the opportunities that will come to me when financial conditions have adjusted themselves.

(A) Why seek so much for the future? Why not make use of that in the present? As has been advised for the entity, for the body, for the enquiring mind of the body, there is to be an offer to the body when there is a readjustment of the conditions, in a field of kindred nature, yet of a DIFFERENT activity. Wait, or PREPARE self FOR that opportunity, and be ready and willing to act - or think some other way, and do as self would do, as it has done some other times before!

6. (Q) Which one of these opportunities will materialize first? (A) Ask reasonable, sensible questions!

7. (Q) How can he best prepare himself for this opportunity? (A) It has been given as to what is to be the nature and character, in the combination of these things as to be used by the telegraph influence and its association with those of television and kindred subjects! Then, prepare self in that line!

8. (Q) Will it require that I change my residence and headquarters? (A) Depends upon what branch, or how LITTLE the entity would desire to make the physical surroundings as pleasant, or make advancement for self!

9. (Q) As each of these opportunities develop, becoming problems, please tell me what course it would be best to follow, or guide me in reaching a decision. (A) DECISION should be made from self, NOT from here! The conditions are set before thee, even as has been said from the beginning, "Today is set before thee good and evil." To this entity it may be said that, "Today is being set before thee opportunity. Choose THOU." Would thou become an automaton, to be pushed about or handled by ANY force outside of thyself? and then lose thine own association or connection with thine Creator itself? for, as has been given, the spiritual insight in an individual is that it may become equal or one with the divine influences as may manifest themselves in the individual's life. To act, or be acted upon by such influences, as to be pushed about as an automaton, and to be chosen for us as to what would be the activities, is making the individuals lose their individuality; their personality becomes submerged in that of another.

10. (Q) In the present connection, am I worthy of the position held? (A) Does the entity think so himself? Has he not received criticisms in many directions? Does the entity feel or know? As is meted out, as has often been given the entity, so will it be measured to the entity again!

11. (Q) Have I the confidence of my superior in office? (A) Partially so.

12. (Q) Why did not the Pacific Coast General Manager submit the suggestion I presented about branch office leases and operation to the Executive Officers in N.Y. for consideration? (A) Because he didn't think well of it!

13. (Q) Is further action on my part necessary? (A) Should it be pressed that this be done, would be necessary.

14. (Q) If I should ever elect to change my employment, in what field or line of industry would I encounter the most success? (A) Depends upon how the entity has prepared himself, or does prepare its activities in whatever field it would enter therein!

15. (Q) At this time, is there anything else that you would care to say to me about the past, present or future? (A) So live and so act with self as to be able to look every man or individual in the face and tell him to "Go to hell"; or so act, in that way and manner that there is known within self that there is that activity which CANNOT be questioned, either by the superior or by the office boy, or by the drayman. So act, in that way and activity of forces, that that as is done becomes a LIVING example of that that the body would present to its Creator; NOT being ASHAMED of that which it acts upon, THROUGH or how, but in a way acceptable to self, to God - to thy Creator!
