Time of Reading Room ..., 10:30 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. San Fran., Calif. (Body & enquiring mind - Ques. as to physical, mental & material affairs)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [270]; this we have had before.
2. At the present time we find there has been some quite satisfactory and some disturbing information for the body. Hence, rather a halting or indeterminate condition exists in the mental attitude of the body at the present. But ready for questions.
3. (Q) State the physical condition of this body and if further osteopathic manipulations or other treatments are necessary. (A) The general physical forces we find very good in many respects. To be sure, there are occasionally reoccurrences of those impulses that became almost constitutional throughout the physical activity, from those tendencies of disturbances in the muco-membranes of the head; as well as that tendency for the capillary or lymph circulation, as related to the eliminations through the respiratory system, to become aggravating. When there is such a tendency, it would be well that precautions be taken even before and especially during such periods, that there is kept - through the diet, as well as by medicated applications or by treatments, or both - and created rather the tendency of a more alkalin reaction in the system. At such periods, then, the manipulative forces and corrective measures would be advisable; the stimulating of those ganglia especially that turn to or for the creating of greater activity through those portions that make for better eliminations, and for gland secretions to create better activities in a coordination of the eliminating forces of the body, as coordinating one with another; that is, the
270-30 Page 2
respiratory system, the circulation as to the perspiratory system and the kidneys, and also - naturally - the alimentary canal. When such conditions arise, then, these treatments would be necessary.
4. (Q) Is the Iodex and ash as a treatment for the recedement of lump on left side of neck to be continued? [Goitre?] (A) We would continue until there is the whole reduction of same. Do not massage in so thoroughly that there is bruising, or tendency to make the thinning of the walls of the glands and ducts that tend to make such conditions accumulate; but we would continue with same.
5. (Q) Mucus collects in my throat at night, what should be done to eliminate at source? (A) As indicated, keep more of an alkalinity throughout the system and this will tend to change the circulation such as to throw off refuse forces through the proper channels, rather than allowing accumulations in the form of phlegm in the muco-membranes of the disturbed conditions in throat, bronchi and larynx.
6. (Q) Upon retiring inability to sleep is a frequent experience. What harmless method will induce sleep? (A) Radio-Active Appliance! Such conditions are oft, as we find, and especially for this particular body, the result of irritating conditions in the mental activities as related to the physical sources of activity in mental. Hence, to take any sedative is only to add fuel to the fires of the nervous system. And to become dependent upon same. But, adding a vibration that will make for an evening of the circulation throughout the body would assist; which may be found in the Radio-Active Appliance. However, it would be better still that there be kept such an even balance in the whole system, mentally, physically, spiritually, that there is perfect coordination in the eliminating systems; in the reactions of the body by the diet, by the keeping of the system in this condition towards a tendency of less acidity in body, and - when necessary - attach the Radio-Active Appliance. This would be the plain Radio-Active Appliance, and would be attached one evening for the right wrist and left ankle, the
270-30 Page 3
next evening for the left wrist and right ankle.
7. (Q) How long should it be kept on? (A) This doesn't make much difference, for it is to keep an even balance. An hour to an hour and a half, or if the body goes to sleep and forgets it - that will be alright!
8. (Q) Is the process undertaken in the formation of ideals materializing satisfactorily; otherwise will you outline the contra-position? (A) These are taking their normal line of development, under the varying activities that are the impulse towards same. (Aside: "He's moving out now!")
9. (Q) What, if any, particular significance is attached to this entity born on February 13th? (A) This question isn't complete! There's particular significance attached to ANY entity, dependent upon their reaction to the purposes, aims, desires, impulses that are experienced by such an entity in their activity through the material world. For this particular entity, many have been the activities - that have been given from experience to experience. As to what the entity does about, for and concerning that which the entity in any given experience holds as its ideal, makes for as to what significance there is in it! Insincerity of ANY entity, individual, atom, or what not, is destructive!
10. (Q) Will my mother sell the home place at 2309 W. Jackson or the place at 2314 W. Jackson this year? [Chicago, Ill.] A direct answer is sought by Mr. [270] because he wishes to be present to assist his mother in this transaction. (A) This is, naturally, dependent upon many circumstances, and the decisions or the WILL-activity of many another individual! And to give a direct answer would be, then, either to so determine in someone's mind that they will or will not, or to comb the consciousness of individuals for the whole period of time - which makes it an impracticability and, personally, and impossibility for one finite mind! Yet, as we find, this MAY be consummated, if there is the desire and will on the part of the mother to part with same for a definite price that may be set, that would be in accord with those who are considering taking or buying such.
11. (Q) In 1918 the Western Union sponsored the formation of an association of its employees. Will that organization survive present conditions or has its purpose been served and should it now be abandoned?
270-30 Page 4
(A) As we find, as indicated by the conditions that have arisen in the affairs of this association or organization, in reality it is held by many that there is more reason for the organization under the present existent conditions, and through the period when there must be the weeding out for the better service for the Western Union among its employees, as the general trend is to come back towards normalcy, than through those periods of the general affluence of every condition. While there is a DEMAND upon those that maintain or are kept in the service, to and for those who are released in various portions of the country, so that it makes for a great strain upon those who are still in employment, is it not the purpose, is it not the ideal that they are to stand together as one? and if one fails all fail? As WE find, the purpose has NOT passed out; neither is there other than the best to be eventually derived from keeping on in such an organization, both for the company and for the employees. This may be termed rather idealistic, but it's time somebody had an ideal! even in commercial businesses!
12. (Q) The Aug. 2, 1932 rdg. gave Mr. [270] this direct advice: "That field in which there will be the presenting of more subsidiary organizations in the transposition of portions of the various types of conditions relative to the work of the organization." Is this field that covered by the Stock quotation Telegraph Co. and the Teleregister Corp? (A) This is a portion of the field, and under the present existent conditions - with the gradual trend that is coming - it would be well that the body, [270], consider this particular field of endeavor and so prepare himself to be able to meet any of the emergencies, or any of the necessities that arise from the expansions in this particular field. But do NOT so attach self, either in activity or in commitment, that he curtails or cuts himself off from the GREATER developments that we find may come along with same!
13. (Q) Now apply the foregoing answer to the proposed organizational changes of March 1, 1933, and advise Mr. [270] concerning his future employment and prospects for advancement with the Western Union. (A) We have just taken these into consideration, and advised that he prepare himself, be willing and ready to accept this change that may come or may be offered for
270-30 Page 5
himself in this particular field! But do not, as given, make such a commitment as to cut himself loose entirely from those affiliations that may make for a greater expansion or field, but use it rather as a stepping-stone!
14. (Q) To clear the record state the month, day and year that Mr. [270] entered the employ of the Western Union in Chicago. (A) In '12. June 12th, in '12.
15. (Q) How will the gross revenue of the Western Union in 1933 compare with that of 1932 and will 1933 aggregate 110 million? (A) It will work comparatively favorably to that in 1932, '31 even, and toward the latter part of '33 even surpass some of those even in the earlier portion - or latter portion - of '30.
16. (Q) Will the earth upheavals during 1936 affect San Francisco as it did in 1906? (A) This'll be a baby beside what it'll be in '36!
17. (Q) Will the Japanese concept of aggrandizement by militaristic aggression result in a declaration of war between Japan and the United States during the year 1936? (A) There are too many conditions to be considered, that may be of greater import and more far-reaching in importance even than wars, during 1936! As to the militaristic attitude and activities of the Japanese and those countries in that particular portion of the sphere, as we find, there will be a great deal more militaristic movements BETWEEN now and '36 than during '36, in that particular field - unless there's some mighty changes in the affairs!
18. (Q) The belief is held that the aeroplane manufacturing and transportation industry will become the outstanding cornerstone to mark this country's return to prosperity, just as the automobile industry did in 1921 and the radio activity did in 1925. Is this correct? (A) Partially so, yes. It may be given as the most OUTSTANDING change that would come, but the real basis of the change must come in the attitude of the classes with the masses, and the abilities for those in selective fields or positions to act more coordinatingly with the spiritual upliftment of ALL to a higher position as related to the affairs of groups, classes and masses.
19. (Q) Has time and the constant evolutionary changes corrected the mind of the people so that a statement on the business outlook for this year can be given? (A) It will be on the improve in this year! for the definite change, definite turn of affairs!
270-30 Page 6
As may be seen from that which took place in Germany, Russia, Japan, on or about the 29th of January, and between the 29th of January and the 4th of February, the change will make for a leavening or a stabilizing (after many trials) to different conditions.
20. (Q) Any other advice for this body at this time? (A) Many fields of thought may be considered by the body, and - as indicated from time to time - the abilities are such, as from the developments of the entity through his experience in the material planes, that holding to an ideal - working WITH same, FOR same, LIVING for same, willing to die for same if necessary - is the best policy!
