Time of Reading Room ..., ... St., 3:45 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. San Francisco, Ca.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [270], of Room ..., ... St., San Francisco, Calif., who seeks further information, advice and guidance, as to his physical health, his mental and material affairs. You will answer the questions which he has submitted, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [270]; and those conditions mentally, materially, that surround the body. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) State the physical condition of my body, are the symptoms for which the Radio-Active appliance was suggested still apparent? (A) Still apparent; and the Radio-Active appliance was suggested as a means to create a more perfect equilibrium in the metabolism of the system. The tendencies are for a faster internal circulation, from the natural or normal activities of the body, than for a unified or coordinated circulation.
4. (Q) Is there a showing of pyorrhea? If so, state what should be done to counteract this? (A) The use of any of those properties that will eliminate the causes of the infectious forces, that disturb the gums, will relieve the condition - or prevent the tendencies that exist in the present. We would advise the use of those properties in that known as Ipsab.
5. (Q) What method should be used for removing a wart in my right ear? (A) Electric needle.
6. (Q) Are my efforts to lift myself above the personal concern of life making satisfactory progress? (A) Such a position should ever be more desirable, from that which is created or brought about in the experience of every entity or individual, by the contentment that ensues
270-31 Page 2
from the activities that promulgate such a mental and material attitude in the experience of every entity. As we would find, much has been accomplished. Still, much more may be done.
7. (Q) Will you give further enlightenment to help accomplish this desire? (A) The basis of every entity's activity should be the placing of an ideal in the experiences of self. Not an idol, not an idea, not a position even that may be attained in the earth's experience by earthly activities; for to attain that which is wholly desired in the mental abilities of an entity is to become stale and self-centered. Then, naturally, the retrogression would ensue. Hence, the attaining of that which makes for the better and greater development in the earth's experience is to be wholly DEPENDENT, in the mental-spiritual activities, upon the will of the Creator, or Creative Forces, that may manifest through every activity of self; making self then a channel day by day in the direction that is set as the ideal of the SOUL, not of the mental mind. This does not mean that an entity becomes impractical, or unpractical, or unethical, nor long-faced, nor sober, nor indulging in criticism of those that do not think or act as self. Rather, it is seeing in the individual whom an entity or body hates (or dislikes, because of activities) that which such an entity or body would worship as God! For, each activity is a manifestation of the forces that emanate from the universal, or the consciousness of the living God! Individuals' activity upon that, by their construction of same, makes it hell or heaven! Then, each soul should see more and more constructively in regard to the most destructive influences in an activity! One that does not accomplish this loses, or besets self to self's own undoing! For, even as He, though He were the Son, He thought it not robbery to be equal with God, yet made Himself of no estate that He might fulfillthe law and show the way; and, though suffering in body, in mind, being despised, spit upon,
270-31 Page 3
hated, He gave, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." This should be the IMPELLING attitude of everyone that seeks to abide in the presence of the Creator.
8. (Q) Do the present circumstances indicate that my mother will sell the property at 2314 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, this month? (A) There will be, as we find, still indicated an opportunity. Not as satisfactory one as might be hoped for, but one that may be made to be - under the existent circumstances, and every condition considered - very worthwhile.
9. (Q) While reading the "Ancient History of Philosophy" by Manly P. Hall, I gained the impression that this author must have been associated in this work. Is this conclusion right? (A) We haven't Manly P. Hall, nor his desire to know, nor his contact with the individual questioning, in this particular application of experiences. He may have been, in what is termed the past - we haven't it here.
10. (Q) It is reported that a change in the Presidency of the Western Union will take place June 1, 1933, Mr. Roy B. White succeeding Newcomb Carlton. Is this correct? (A) It is as yet only in the talk, or the air. This depends upon the activity or desire of Carlton, to retire or not to retire from the active management or presidency of the company. If this seems the more satisfactory to Carlton, then - as we find - White would be the successor.
11. (Q) Will this change expedite the consolidation of the Western Union and Postal companies? (A) One of the things that is most considered in this change is the susceptibility of White to the cooperative measures in making the consolidation. Yet, it will be some time before it's consummated!
12. (Q) Will this consolidation become operative this year? (A) This will depend upon many of the reconstructions of the financial conditions in many portions of the country. Should it become operative, it will be August or October.
13. (Q) Will the Association of Western Union Employees survive this consolidation and continue to function as the representative of the employees? (A) It will.
14. (Q) Will the welfare of the employees of the consolidated company be accorded the same consideration under the regime of President White as they were during Mr.

Carlton's administration at the helm of the Western Union Co.? (A) This depends upon much of the attitude of the officers and leaders in the Association of Employees. If there is the attempt to force the recognition, or to force the association - Or, rather - Make this application, [270]: That which has been given as to the mental and spiritual development of any soul is the basis upon which GOOD business, GOOD judgement, is founded. Then, make the application in this same direction. Like begets like. THIS is infallible. If there is the desire, then, to FORCE an issue, there will be just as strong opposition the other way; and even when an issue is forced, has anything been gained? For the moment, perhaps - but this association should be, if properly founded and based (as it has been in the past, in most of its activities), of a longer duration than one generation.
15. (Q) Will any part of the wage deductions sustained by Western Union employees be restored this year? (A) In the latter portion, it should be.
16. (Q) Will the present Western Union four column organization continue in the operation of the Land lines of the consolidated company? (A) There will be some additions to the activities of these lines.
17. (Q) Can you outline the organizational set-up for the present subsidiary companies? (A) Not as yet.
18. (Q) Which one of these organizations will I be employed with? (A) As we have continually given the body, it should be with those (or the better opportunity for the advancement, without the loss of the years of service, that is necessarily a portion of each man's right) pertaining to the changes as related to association and connection with greater facilities in transportation of not only messages, but the other activities of the consolidated organization as we have indicated, see?
19. (Q) At what location? (A) Baltimore. Or in the east, at least.
20. (Q) As understood when this offer is received it is to be accepted without commitment and used as a stepping stone for greater expansion. Is that correct? (A) If used in the same way that has been outlined, yes.
21. (Q) Will the theory that by demonetizing the value of gold and silver, thus devaluating the dollar to create
270-31 Page 5
inflation, prove to be the correct measure in the restoring of our economic condition to the 1926 level? (A) As indicated by that given respecting these situations, this situation is so joined with the other nations of the world that they must - in reaching the stabilization of the monetary units of the world - be considered rather as a unit than as separate corporations, or separate units. With the valuations in the varied markets, in the varied trades, in the varied calls for settlements or exchanges, there is the NECESSITY that the standard of this company - or country (which is a company) - be equalized with those, or seek its level in the general position throughout the activities in the commercial activities at home and abroad. With the position of this country in the financial situations, this is the ONLY means for basing the valuations without attempting to FORCE the issue with other countries. Hence, it is the ONLY manner in which it may be controlled and yet not work a hardship upon the other countries owing - or seeking to trade with - this country; or this country in seeking either raw materials or manufactured materials, or in seeking to raise the price of that the country sends or exports to other countries. Hence the so-called inflation.
22. (Q) Will that level be reached this year? (A) No. It will be SETTLED, of course, in a general manner, through the June and July conferences - but as to the changes that will come, it will not be entirely settled; though there will be a commercialization plan so set as to make for a better amortization of the conditions of all countries.
23. (Q) Once undertaken can the monetary side of inflation be controlled and stopped by the Government when desired? (A) It's just been given, as to how and why it can be!
24. (Q) Will the Government be successful in its price fixing program for commodities? (A) Never in price fixing. In that of the HANDLING of the commodities, yes.
