Time of Reading Room ..., 10:10 to 10:35 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. San Fran., Ca.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [270], ..., San Francisco, Calif., who seeks information about his physical and mental condition and his material affairs. You will answer questions he submits.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [270]; this we have had before.
3. As we find in many respects conditions are as good physically as when we last had same. In some directions, of course, improvement is shown, but in others - as the glandular disturbance on the neck - the condition is not so good. [Carbuncle]
4. This is a breaking of cell tissue that allows the accumulations within same, as may be said to be the effect of the thyroid activity; though cell tissue breaking is of the nature that shows a thinning of the walls of the portions of the system where the disturbance is indicated.
5. As we find, we would make applications for corrections OSTEOPATHICALLY, in the upper dorsal and cervical.
6. And the application of the electrical forces would be rather of the deep therapy, though not too high in its voltage.
7. Do not operate upon same, unless a great deal more disturbance arises than is shown in the present.
8. And if the applications are made as indicated, and there is the gentle - not hard but gentle - massaging of same each evening with an equal combination of Mutton Suet, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor, this should be eliminated. This would be massaged over the place itself, you see, but NOT hard - nor try to move.
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) Is this of a cancerous nature? (A) Rather as has been indicated. Not necessarily a malignant growth, but is glandular - and is the effect of the glandular system, as indicated.
11. (Q) Does this cause the burning feeling along the cords that side of the neck?
270-41 Page 2
(A) This, of course, causes all these indications which arise here.
12. (Q) Do any of the teeth require dental attention? (A) Local attention, yes.
13. (Q) Any specific ones? (A) This would be better determined by the closer examination here. The gums need attention also.
14. (Q) Do present eye glasses afford normal vision? (A) These are very well. It will be found to be improved with the osteopathic corrections and the massages as may be given with same.
15. (Q) Does this body obtain ample physical exercise? (A) This is very well, though there might be more specific exercises.
16. (Q) Is the diet fairly well balanced for satisfactory glandular reaction? (A) Needs more iodine.
17. (Q) Is there any further advice for the physical well being of the body? (A) If it will do these as indicated, the specific and the general conditions should greatly improve.
18. (Q) Do the executives and my immediate superior regard the work performed and supervised by this body as satisfactory? (A) Very satisfactory.
19. (Q) Is the movement of work to and the cooperation with Omaha satisfactory? (A) There are among those in the Omaha division not above finding fault. This is not a fault of this body, however.
20. (Q) Will the abandonment of the Denver office directly affect this body? If so, in what manner? (A) This may depend upon how the situations develop. For there will be some changes of a material nature following this abandonment, and there will be some shifting of individuals' activities. As to whether it will be materially affective to this body will depend upon the choices made by the body respecting changes of which it will be notified as conditions develop.
21. (Q) Should the failure to claim exemption for the position held by this body under the Fair Labor Standards Act be regarded as a loss of personal prestige? (A) No.
22. (Q) Now have in mind the foregoing and information previously given that self should insist upon greater opportunity in the field of communication activity advising the most consistent approach to the accomplishment of this problem. (A) As there is drawn greater relationships with the R.C.A.

communications, and greater association and connections with same, as has been indicated, with the preparation the body has made and with the abilities, this will open the greater fields and there needs be the reminding of the superiors in this direction for these changes to be brought about - when the time arrives.
23. (Q) During the past few months employment association has not been as pleasant an enterprise as heretofore. For the year 1939 will you outline for my guidance a plan that will overcome this condition? (A) As we find there are very sure to be some changes in the environs of the body during some time in the period of 1939. These as combined with the general abilities, the making of self affable in all of those things in the ways outlined so oft for the body, should bring good results. As has been indicated, if you would have friends, be friendly; if you would have confidence given thee, then give confidence, express and show confidence in the superiors and those associated in the activities. If these are in disagreement with those policies and ideals of self, the entity must then hold to the ideal and not become drifting as it were with another that is not in keeping with the best policies for the entity.
24. (Q) Does the amalgamation of the R.C.A., the A.T. & T. and the Telegraph Co. seem nearer a reality? (A) These are gradually developing and are nearer a reality.
25. (Q) Will existing laws be changed? Otherwise will this not create a monopoly? (A) Existing laws will be changed and this is being worked out as to NOT be a monopoly, but rather as affording greater facilities for handling all of the general situations.
26. (Q) Is Western Union and I.T. & T. still regarded good investments? (A) Still regarded good investments.
27. (Q) Since each pays no dividends will enhanced value in 1939 compensate for this? (A) It should.
28. (Q) Will the proposed I.T. & T. capital reorganization be approved this year? (A) In the latter portion of same.
29. (Q) Should this body continue previous advice not to purchase a home in San Francisco? (A) As we find it is advisable NOT to, as yet.
30. (Q) Do present business conditions reflect a new era of prosperity for United States in 1939? (A) After the conditions as will arise in March and April,
270-41 Page 4
yes.
31. (Q) Now consider the estate of my mother, its financial status, the physical condition of my brother and advise if an effort should be made to close estate this year, or will a more satisfactory conclusion result by allowing the present arrangement to continue until 1940? (A) In the latter portion of the present year we would advise a conclusion drawn, for such conditions that will arise that would be a better settlement for all concerned.
32. (Q) Now consider the model radio antenna. Can the selectivity and volume be increased without changing size of unit? Present volume is not ample. (A) Necessary to change the size of unit, as we find.
33. (Q) What kind of insulation is best suited and where in unit should this be placed? (A) Bakelite; and should be placed where there is the tendency for the jumping of the force or power in the antenna.
34. (Q) Is the idea commercially practicable? (A) It is commercially practical.
35. (Q) Should experiments be continued by self or assigned to some one else for development? (A) Continued by self for the present - and advice from those who are in the field of the electrical engineering.
36. (Q) Any further advice for the body? (A) Keep that same attitude as has been so oft advised for the body in its constructiveness in relationship to others, in relationship to the employment and the general field of activity; leaving off those things that are of hate or its kindred forces FROM the activity of the mind and the body.
