Time of Reading 10:30 to 10:50 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. San Fran., Ca.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [270], ..., San Francisco, Calif. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as to his health, his mental and material affairs.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [270].
3. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) Is the present physical condition as good as that found before? (A) In most respects, yes. There are some minor conditions, or some that at times aggravate the body. But in the main they are as well as, or better than, when we had same before.
5. (Q) Should the same treatment for the glandular condition [carbuncle on neck] be continued? (A) Should be continued. And we find that it would be well once a week to use a poultice of Atomidine; that is, saturate a piece of cotton with Atomidine and bind on overnight. Then follow the rest as indicated. [See 270-48, Par. 6-A.]
6. (Q) Is the condition active or dormant? (A) It is mostly dormant. We would make it active and eliminate it.
7. (Q) Shall I continue to take Adiron tablets? (A) Leave them off after the fifteenth of May.
8. (Q) Does my body require a vitamin booster for general working activity and another to help it relax during rest and sleeping periods? (A) Not necessarily. If there is an adherence to the suggestions as we have indicated for the bodily functions, this should be sufficient - if the assimilation is well. The vitamins in the correct proportions in Adiron, as we have indicated, have set a very good balance in the system.
9. (Q) Is there a cancerous condition of any kind present in my body?
270-47 Page 2
(A) No.
10. (Q) Is it desirable that body blemishes be removed now and will their removal have any effect upon the glandular condition? (A) As we find, where it is practical it would be well now to remove the body blemishes - which should be a helpful influence for the glandular forces.
11. (Q) Do I take ample exercise? (A) There should be more exercise in the open.
12. (Q) Is there any further advice or information for the health and well being of my body? (A) If these suggestions as indicated are adhered to, we find that the body should be kept physically fit.
13. (Q) Has the study at the Raymond school established the desired background? (A) This is very good.
14. (Q) Is it advisable to continue work at this school and along present lines, or should a change be made to the Owen's of Wilkin's school? (A) We would continue along the present line, with those expansions that are a part of the regular routine or curriculum that may be outlined for the advanced students.
15. (Q) Referring to my work and associates: Is the accounting work under my supervision being handled satisfactorily to the division auditor? (A) This is in much better condition than when we last had the indications here. There is much more cooperation among many of the associates.
16. (Q) Are the policies being adhered to and entanglements avoided? (A) As has just been indicated.
17. (Q) Is there any specific advice respecting personal conduct and the mental attitude applicable to my work and relations with my associates that requires special cultivation in that greater confidence and cooperation will be more evident? (A) As indicated, there has been a great improvement since last we had these conditions. We would continue in those lines and in those activities; keeping the constructive attitude as of being a helpful influence in its associations with all its activities and its relations.
18. (Q) May advancement be anticipated this year? (A) It should be, by August or September.
19. (Q) Will the present wage deduction be restored this year? (A) It should be.
20. (Q) Is there a plan under consideration that will consolidate Pacific Division Plant Accounting work in Chicago? (A) This has been considered, but has been considered also as not the most feasible way. This may occur, but it will
270-47 Page 3
be some time yet - as we find.
21. (Q) Will this change be made about January 1942? (A) This will depend upon other activities and other coalitions that are being considered.
22. (Q) Based on this set-up, is it planned that I will return to the Plant Dept. in San Francisco or go to Chicago along with the work? (A) This has not been fully determined as yet, and much of that which will determine same will have to do with the activities and the conditions developing through the next eight to nine months, see?
23. (Q) Are conditions now in such shape that we may safely consider the purchase of a home in San Francisco? (A) As indicated, if so desired, it would be very well. Be very careful as to selection of place and as to the ability to dispose of same should this be necessary.
24. (Q) Will the proposed new F.C.C. code of accounts become operative January 1, 1942? (A) This will depend, of course, upon some other changes; but as we find it is now set up to come into activity about that time.
25. (Q) Will the U.S. Government as one of its measures of defense assume control of the facilities and personnel of the Telegraph Company comparable to the action exercised in the last war? (A) Not in the same way and manner; though there will be those relationships in which it will be handled in another form similar to that.
26. (Q) Will this action result in the consolidation of other communication companies with the Western Union Telegraph Co.? (A) During those periods, yes; and afterwards a closer cooperation.
27. (Q) Is Western Union and I.T. & T. stock still regarded as a safe investment? (A) As a safe investment.
28. (Q) Why has not Western Union reacted more favorably as a result of increased revenue? (A) This has been purposely, owing to those conditions which have existed for some time; but will soon show better reactions.
29. (Q) Referring to the property in Chicago: Will the party recently interested in purchasing 2314 West Jackson for use as a Home for Boys reconsider their decision? (A) As we find, they will reconsider their decision; though this will require that there be some urging on the part of some others.
270-47 Page 4
30. (Q) Should this not materialize, then what procedure would it be best to follow in bringing about an early sale of this property? (A) Through the regular channels for disposition of properties in these areas.
31. (Q) The agent handling property states the neighborhood has deteriorated so that F.H.A. has classified the area as blighted and will not approve loans in this neighborhood. Is this correct? (A) Partially, only.
32. (Q) Is it advisable to arrange at once for a loan to clean up back taxes? (A) Be very well, if there would be the disposition of the property for beneficial conditions to all concerned.
33. (Q) Can this be arranged through Schneider & Company, Chicago? (A) As we find, it CAN be - yes.
34. (Q) Will present economic conditions create a better market for real estate? (A) To be sure.
35. (Q) With the volume decreasing annually will the various agencies of the government relax exercised control of the stock exchange to permit of greater activity? (A) This will come with a great deal of change that will occur in '43 and '44.
36. (Q) Will you now outline for my guidance the new order of things that will follow culmination of the present world affairs and the plan that I should adhere to in my relation with associates? (A) As we find, it would not be well even to attempt to outline this in the present conditions. For, conditions will grow more and more extravagant, or there will be those periods when there will be greater anxiety - even at times reaching to those stages of some activity on the border of overanxiety, see? Thus it will depend upon the final choices and decisions that will be made, as to what new orders will come or what new conditions will arise. But maintain at all times with the associates, and with all relationships with those with whom the entity comes in contact in the present as well as in the future periods, the attitude of being and remaining in a constructive experience for each and every one. Only as you would that others should do, you should do. Not under the stress and strain attempting to make for the saving of self irrespective of others, but one for all, all for one.
37. (Q) Will the present European conflict create greater
270-47 Page 5
repercussions in the United States than those following the last World War? (A) As just indicated, there will be greater repercussions [12/7/41 Pearl Harbor, etc.?], but as for the reactions afterward - these are being very well safeguarded and, if there is not too much of excitement, should come through in a very different form and manner.
38. (Q) Will much dissatisfaction be evident and an equalizing effect be necessary to adjust those conditions? (A) This depends upon just how much of anxiety is created or is allowed to form the basis of the activity of individuals.
39. (Q) When will this purge end and humanity enter a new era of peaceful living? (A) In '45 and '46. [End of World War II] [See 1861-10, Par. R4.]
40. (Q) Is there any further advice for me at this time? (A) Keep the mental attitude towards spiritual living as the basis for all mental and material activities; and we will find that which is being sought will be nearer in keeping with creative and corrective influences in the experience in every phase of the life.
