Time of Reading 417 - 22nd St., 11:05 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Va. Beach, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [271]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, while conditions are not materially changed since last we had same here, there are better influences about the body than there has been in some times past. These, as we find, will make for a manner or way through which there may be maintained the physical and material applications that would aid in bringing those reactions as for material benefits in the body.

3. We would give those properties that have been given, in sufficient quantity to be of material aid. Unless they are given rather in a manner as to gain the value of same, they become rather irritant than helpful; for, as would be in that of short-circuiting in electrical vibration, it burns or flares when it continues just to touch; or as would be in damming a stream, when only a small portion would be placed in an overflow would continue to break through, causing more and more worriments to the body - or to the main conditions.

4. We would still, in a gentle, sympathetic manner, insist upon those material applications that will be helpful and beneficial in maintaining, in a PHYSICAL sense, the suggestions that are received by the mental body in its environment and surroundings. Hence the necessity of conditions being kept in an even, harmonious manner as much as possible; not condoning or allowing the body to have its own mental way, and react to same, but in an even, gentle tone and manner; not to harangue, not to argue, but in a gentle, even tone and manner, but POSITIVE in regard to those things that would be for the betterment of the body in its physical and mental reaction. And whatever is promised, fulfill Do not promise one thing to gain a point and then abuse the promise.

5. Ready for questions.

271-10 Page 2

6. (Q) How should the medicine with the bromides be given the body? (A) In any way that it may be administered, just so it's administered regularly. Any way, if you have to gag him and pour it down him - but it would make it lose its point.

7. (Q) Is the chocolate or vanilla milk alright to give it in? (A) Either of those, or in root beer.

8. (Q) Is Edgar McPherson's influence with him good? (A) At most times very good; should be a little more positive, not arguing, but more of the suggestion as to what is good and what is well. Even in those times when conforming to the wishes, continue - not as wrangling, but as "THIS would be better" or "That would be better." See?

9. That is all the questions regarding this body.

10. We are through with this reading. Copy to Sister " " Cayce-Hesson Household " " File [GD's memo: Shortly after above reading, [271] got away from his attendant and was unable to be found for a period of 24 to 48 hours - I forget exactly how long. The family phoned long distance and when he was found Miss Annie Cayce asked them to take him back with them; the strain was too much for her, especially since a suitable companion was not available.]
