1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [274]; this we have had before.
2. As we find, there are decided changes for the better. While there are those conditions that still at times disturb the better physical functioning, the causes and the tendencies in the physical functioning of the body are receiving better incentives from those centers in the cerebrospinal system to produce a more normal equilibrium, and there is better coordination in the system.
3. It is true that the conditions are in a position or state wherein conditions from the outside, or effects of disturbance to this equilibrium being established, would be more harmful were they allowed to attack or to become effective in the system, but if there will be kept - as yet, for some periods - the greater portion of that suggested for correcting in the physical manners, and the adherence by the body mental and physical to these suggestions, there would be in the present a faster recuperation, or more near normal reactions in the physical forces of the body.
4. Then, we would not change from that already outlined, save that there would be an outline in the exercises that would be taken by the body through or following those periods of treatment; either following the manipulation and correction or the irrigations and rubs.
5. These exercises should not be of such a severe nature as to produce strains on the physical body, yet activities made to call into action those muscles and nerves throughout the system that are not in play during the normal activities in the daily labors, will tend to make for better resistances in the system and a more normal reaction in the mental activities and attitudes of the body.
6. For, it is being recognized by the body more and more that, these attitudes are necessary conditions and
274-4 Page 2
consciousnesses to be reached and maintained by the body.
7. For, while there are the disturbances, the life forces are gaining more and more the better concept of efforts and activity in this material experience, and the purposes, the aims, the desires, are being broadened; and there is more joy, more harmony, gradually being experienced by the body, [274].
8. For, as realized more and more by the body, those things that confront every entity in its experience through any period of manifested activity in material plane must have an incentive that is beyond the purely material conditions of one's self.
9. These conditions in material affairs become very necessary, and at times become appalling to one's own consciousness; yet not if there is felt that self may be a channel of blessing to some one.
10. Hence ever the greater incentive or experience of a soul is to find that ability, that place, wherein that soul may be the crutch, the cane, the incentive, for another soul to seek its Maker's face.
11. For, time is long; and there seems so much to be accomplished when another or self is under those strains of a continual entanglement from these things that beset the physical body, as to cause pain, disorder, disruption; but to become so self-centered that such conditions are paramount in the experience of such an one makes for belittleness in self, unworthiness in self.
12. Hence, to bring joy, harmony and peace throughout the experience of associations with others, brings a contentment that makes for the joy of life in all its glorying in His name.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Should I look for some outdoor occupation, away from a big city? (A) Not until the purposes, the aims, the desires - both for material maintenance and for the ideals - may be carried on. For, these things that beset the body-physical may in the present be eradicated - if these suggestions are followed - in the present environ. Well that such conditions, such surroundings, such an environ be a portion of the entity's experience as oft as possible; yes.
15. (Q) In spite of my abnormal bite (upper and lower teeth not meeting properly), can I expect to better my digestion? (A) It can be done, following those suggestions; for, as we
274-4 Page 3
have outlined for those disturbances wherein the organs of digestion have been disturbed, there is being created within the system in the proper consistency - with the consistent application of the suggestions - the abilities of the functioning system (the glands, the organs - and the glands in the organs themselves) to produce a nearer normal activity. For, as we see (and if desired there may be the test to materially gratify or satisfy self that it is being accomplished), there are the greater numbers of red blood cells and the leucocytes in system in the present; that are such necessary elements in carrying on digestion and elimination. The increase in red blood cells has been slow, to be sure; but SO MUCH nearer normal reaction is being manifested!
16. (Q) How can I quiet my nerves, my mind, and be able to concentrate? (A) This has been given through those suggestions that have just been presented, as to how self will - in its mental reflections, and its physical reactions from those reflections - become more and more a channel, more and more an element upon which some soul, some mind, may lean for sustenance and strength; not in the MATERIAL things, but for the mental and spiritual awakening of themselves.
17. (Q) Would a child begotten by me inherit my physical condition, or not be normal? (A) It would be normal, and - with the changing conditions in self - receive, through the impetus that might be given from that held within self, the abilities to develop so as to carry on the ideals of self.
18. (Q) Am I fit for married life? (A) That just given answers in the physical sense. In the mental, becoming dependent upon the duties and obligations entailed in such associations - in their TRUE essence, becomes worth while.
19. (Q) What can be done to increase my weight? (A) That suggested, in the activities that will aid the muscular forces and reactions through the various organs of the system to respond to the proper coordinations that are being brought about in the physical body.
20. (Q) Any particular sports I should take up? (A) As outlined, these should be in keeping with the applications that are given, that should be followed in their regular order with the conditions that are being corrected in the system. To be sure, those sports in the open - as indicated - are excellent, as well as those that may be had in the
274-4 Page 4
gymnastics - or gymnasium exercises also, even in this warm weather. Keeping in the open, more oxygen, more sun tan, is excellent. Do not overdo same, however.
