This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Zentgraf, 400 St. Paul''s Avenue, Stapleton, S.I., New York, this 14th day of January, 1934, in accordance with request made by self - Miss [276], Active Member of the Ass''n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

R E A D I N G

Time of Reading 5:25 to 6:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y.

1. HLC: You will have before you the soul-mind of [276], present in this room. You will give in detail the history of her appearance in Arabia at the time of the priest Ra-Ta of Egypt, giving name and history first, and then answering questions.

2. EC: Yes. The approach is rather confusing.

3. The periods when there was the journeying of the peoples into Egypt that made for the disputations and the eventual arising of the civilization through the medium and activity of those peoples there, aided with those that came in from the Atlantean land.

4. Then in the name Valtui, the entity was in the associations of the king's or leader's household; then among the associations in the land that made for activities in the Arabian land that brought into Egypt that which made animal worship in a portion of the people's activities much later; not by the entity's actions but an associate of the entity.

5. The entity's activities in the sojourn had to do with the domestication and use of the wild animal life and also those that later became the servants with and of man in his activity; and brought about much that had to do with the raising of the horse from the smaller or pygmy animal to the charging steed; that had to do with the using of the wolve and the wild things for the closer companionship to man.

6. When there were those periods of expansion of that builded in the Egyptian land, those that acted as emissaries then first brought the entity into the closer associations with those activities that dealt with the spiritualizing of the abilities of entities; and the entity then became associated with those in that activity. The name then became Apt-vuli.

7. As to the associations, much of that about the entity in its abilities and its innate activities that may be made manifest in the present was then evidenced.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) Is there anything more that can be given of the history of the life up to the time of meeting the priest? (A) Much more might be given. This is an outline.

10. (Q) Will you give some more details regarding this period? (A) The entity was in Arabia in the year (according to the reckoning from our time, or from the reckonings in that experience) 5,410 - 5,410 from the time the first initiates met in their activities for the ridding of the land of the creatures that were an abomination or a hindrance to the development of man. Reckoned from the sojourning of the peoples from the Atlantean land into Egypt, that made for a beginning of a new reckoning, the peoples that the entity then sojourned with - or a portion of them - entered into Egypt, or left Persia, leaving the entity among the peoples as one of the higher class that ruled them - reckoned from that period, the entering in some 84 years before the entering into Egypt, from that time reckoning, see? The entity, then, as would be termed in years, was 22 years of age when she assumed the rule of the peoples whom her associate or uncle LEFT and entered into Egypt. The entity then began the activity of inducing her followers to use the varied associations for the development of not only a greater social activity but a greater commercial activity, as would be termed today, in relation to the animal kingdom about them to be used as a benefit to the peoples. This period of development made for what would today be termed as 60 years of experience, making the entity in the period 83 years of age when there were the journeyings through the activities of the emissaries to come in contact with the priest's activity, and particularly in associations with those that acted in the relations of the cleanser of the bodily influences in the individuals for their activities in the spiritual life in the temples. Hence the associations and the manner of relations as begun.

11. (Q) Give a description of the meeting with the priest, and the effect of the teachings upon the soul-mind. (A) This may be rather hard to put into words of the present day, for first was the meeting with the emissaries. Then there was the meeting with that activity in the temple, where there was sought the understanding within the spiritual-mindedness of the entity for cleansing - or preparation of self. And with the meeting of the priest,

the aid as to the particular activity of the entity in those relations. The scene might be laid like this: In the Temple Beautiful there was the music for the ones presenting themselves to be offered upon the altars for the cleansing of that which would prevent them from - what would be termed today - consecrating their lives to church through the baptismal service; though in that baptism it was by the altar first for the removing of those things that made for the carnal influence. The entity then was among those who had been led in, or through the first experience of being offered on the altar and being presented by the priestess or the activity of that one in the temple so offering same made for the obeisance, as would be called, in pleading for the aid to assist self. It was robed in the garments of the Temple itself, in what later became the character of Egyptian robes of that particular period, made from the linens of the papyrus and the lotus combined and covered with the combination of the colors - purple and white - used as the robes of those so offering themselves. In such a scene was the meeting made. As to the activities produced in the entity itself, there was rather the turn to the material abilities in controlling the animal force such as to present same in the music that aided in the worship or service in the Temple's activities later.

12. (Q) Give more details of her life after meeting the priest. (A) The activities were carried on rather in the service of the temples at that period, afterwards turning to her own land and bringing to her peoples, her own kingdom - as it were - the teachings of the priest; or, as would be termed today, the entity became the priestess of the temple to her own peoples, her own land; conducting and carrying on those activities, not to the laws of the peoples as to their relationships to the commercial forces or commercial world - that was the case in many another direction, but in this particular activity of the entity there was brought a period of peace, harmony and upbuilding of every character and nature in that land.

13. (Q) How can the entity give "those deeper thoughts" to others, mentioned in reading of Feb. 20, 1931? [276-2] (A) In expressing them in that as may come to the entity as it turns within for the innate expressions of the inner self, in what will come as intuitive forces from self's OWN INNER self. Not guided by the influence of those in the

entity's environ in ANY of its experiences, but rather its own soul development; only attuning to those records that are made by each soul in its activity through the material world. For, as spirit enters into matter to act upon same it leaves upon matter an influence and is as a record upon that we call time in the present experience. And one seeking into the inner self, through the abilities that have been given each soul through the power of the Creative Forces, brings to the consciousness of the soul those expressions. While they may be put only in the terms or words or the voice of that in the present environ, and thus are shaded and termed much as the vision of a stick in water; yet present that which is of the soul's own experience. How does same become real in the expression? Through those manners as given in and through the powers of the Holy One, by the Creator, the wholesome, the more righteous life, or - properly termed - the more righteous USE of life.

14. (Q) Did the entity play any musical instrument? (A) Were each soul today to get rather the vision that the self in life, or Life itself, is the manifestation of the Spirit of God in the earth, and that its soul, the entity's soul, the companion of that Spirit in the material world, each soul would get rather the vision of its own abilities in the earth, if it will but make the use of, the application of, the manifestations of that spirit that will make for the growth of its own soul, the heritage of each and every soul that enters into the earth's plane. As may be rightly gathered from that given concerning this entity, this soul, in its unconscious use of life it gave to man such that has been the aid, the help, the companion throughout the years, the ages since. In the conscious use of these same influences, with being directed by those that had found - as it were - the relationship between the Creative influence and the creature and its brother, the creature and its Maker, the entity so applied self as to bring harmony into the KINGDOM over which the entity ruled. Not as ruled by might, rather by love. Hence the instruments used were of the reed or flute, that is known in the present, and made the hearts of many merry; not as of those that would gratify the satisfying of carnal forces, but rather that as awakened within each those abilities for the expressing of - in its physical body - the music of the spirit in its activity in and through the body. So in the present, as the experiences of self that go to

make up its abilities to quell within the breast of many a tortured soul or many a tortured body that wars within itself with the spirit that is willing and the flesh is weak with its own desires, that as may be given by the entity in word or by the music will bring something to each of the vision that came to those that were under the entity's supervision or kingdom in that sojourn.

15. (Q) What is the entity's tree and flower? (A) The flower is the snowdrop, for its purity, for its struggling with the chilling blast and yet carrying within it the heart of the summer light in the spirit of its beauty and freshness. The tree is that WE call in this land the dogwood, yet in that particular land it bore quite a different blossom. Just as the white and the pink make for the harmonies of the colors in the entity's experience, so do these in their activity represent the activity of the entity. Some may ask, from what source - WHY is it given to this entity or to another for some particular tree or flower to be its tree or flower? Because their lives, in the use of same in the period of its development, that meant the most to others, are represented or presented by that the flower or tree represents in the experience of those that have looked into the heart of the flower, or that have harkened to the position the tree occupies among its fellows; for do they not speak one to another in their manifestations of the spirit they represent to fulfilla place in the experience of the sons of men? if they will but harken to the voices even from nature, as represented in the flower or the tree; or as this entity in its beauty of experience in manifesting of life brought also to the humblest of the animal to represent in man's life its closest companion and the burden bearer with the women that the entity aided in freeing from many of their burdens. Hence the entity may in itself become a leader for women's rights, even in the present.

16. (Q) Is there any special prayer for me? (A) This would be as teaching the brook to sing, to give for the entity. But this may aid in itself finding that prayer it may give to many another soul from the storehouse of this soul's experience: AS I OPEN MY BODY, MIND AND SOUL TO THEE, O GOD MY MAKER, SURROUNDING MYSELF WITH THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE CHRIST LIFE, SHOW THOU ME THE WAY TO BE THE GREATER CHANNEL FOR MY FELLOW MAN.

17. (Q) Are there any special things I should do when I meditate? (A) Use that given. Ever surround self with but consciousness of the Christ-presence being with thee. For, as it has ever been the experience of man in a material

world, no one ever made an object of beauty that it was not counterfeited. No one ever lived a perfect life that it was not begrudged by another. For this in the experience of the world is a law inevitable in the affairs of those in carnal forces. So, in opening self - as should every soul (for the body is the temple of the soul, the temple of the spirit of the Father) - surround self with that which is ever present WITH the Father, and He is faithful; for He has given, "As ye seek me, as ye ask in my name, that will be thine. For, as I go to the Father, and ye abide in me and I in the Father, the deeds that you do in the body may be manifesting - and be examples of - the love of the Father to the sons of men." Thus, as this entity has manifested in an experience deeds both from the mind of the body and the mind of the soul in one experience, it becomes fitting that it should lead many a soul to the knowledge and the understanding of the love of the Father to the sons of men. And thus may the prayers, the supplications of the entity, of the body, of the soul, come to mean much to every one.

18. (Q) What thoughts should I hold that will help me to come nearer to God, and to all that is holy and pure? (A) "As the spirit of the Christ leads me, I can do no wrong. When myself alone leads me, I may err - but with the Christ as my guide, as my companion, as my savior, I will rest my case, my troubles, my pleasures, my joys, with Him." For, be ye joyous in the service of men. For, the Father would have his children be happy, be joyous, and not sad.

19. (Q) Is there anything I can do for those I associate with, that haven't found God? (A) Let thine own life and thine own light so shine among men that they, TOO, may be constrained to GLORIFY Him that THOU glorifiest in thy life, thy words, thy deeds.

20. (Q) Why do I have such a liking for dancing? (A) A natural expression of the joyousness of giving expression of joy, and if it is kept in that attitude it brings harmony, rhythm and peace, and makes one rather capable of expressing same IN harmony. When it is just for association, or just for the company, then be mindful.

21. (Q) How was the entity related to her present sister [275] in Egypt? (A) Very close; for did not the sister lead and show the way to the spiritual application of the material mind as had been manifested by the body?

22. (Q) What was the relationship in that life to her present mother [255]?

(A) Very close in relationships in the activities in that experience, and aided in the SETTING of self in the manner to use or apply or to make a PRACTICAL thing in the experience. For, as each soul views its position or its activity in the present, just to be beautiful, just to be good, just to be alone or to be entertaining - unless one is good for something, unless it is to make the experience of another appreciate the opportunity of the blessing of the spirit of truth in their activities, it must eventually come to naught. Hence not religion, not even goodness, but rather the practical application of not the tenets but the acts and the soul of the Christ-Consciousness in the material world is to be sought - as shown by the entity, by that association with the present mother, in that experience.

23. (Q) What was the association of this entity at that time with her father in the present [378]? (A) Rather as one directed by that entity in making for the return to her own people.

24. (Q) Was the soul-consciousness of Peggy [dog], present in this room, in any of my animals then? (A) Yes.

25. (Q) Which one? (A) In the animals in the home or in the house.

26. (Q) Is there any further advice or help that may be given this entity now? (A) Rather would each soul in this room be lifted by that counsel and that advice of THIS soul when it communes with itself and its Savior. KEEP that thou hast set in the purposes of thine heart. Make thine desires the desires to be as the will of the Father, with the Christ working in thee, and thou wilt lead many from going astray.
