Time of Reading Set bet.10:00 to 11:00 Taken 11:30 to 12:00 A. M. ..., Ohio. (Physical Suggestion) [GD's note: Nice attunement of all present.]

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [278].

2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical functioning of the body that may be corrected and the body be nearer normal, with many more years of useful service.

3. These conditions, as we find in some manners, are rather hidden; they have become, then, in part at least, constitutional, yet there has been and is the constant warring within the resistances of the physical body to adjust itself to a more normal activity. Hence we find that the functionings of many of the organs are involved, for the condition is rather one of auto-intoxication that arises from disturbances in more than one organ; hence vary as to the effects that are created in the system.

4. While the eliminating of poisons and the gradual adjusting of the physical forces to the new regime (as it may be called) will require some persistence, the greater part will only require consistent and persistent activity, with some aid to the system in adjusting and removing the conditions that are not only the primary causes but that have become accumulations from the disorders disturbing the system in many ways.

5. Then, these are the conditions that we find physically with the body, [278] we are speaking of:

6. First, IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this in itself shows the character - or characters - of disturbance that affect the liver, the kidneys and the heart's action at times, but the affectation there is an effect and not a cause; as the disturbance in the liver, the hepatic circulation, the taxation at times to kidneys, the abnormal blood pressure, the heart's activity, is rather the EFFECT and not organic

278-1 Page 2

disturbance - but functional, from pressures created in portions of the system by the improper eliminations that leave or cause pressures and distresses in organs, by the lack of sufficient resuscitating forces FROM the blood supply and the inabilities of the blood supply - through the pressures created by the drosses or poisons left in organs at times during their functioning - to perform the proper activity for the system.

7. These are effects, then, as created and exhibited as the conditions in the physical forces of the body; the blood lacking in those elements that would make for the abilities to produce clarification throughout the system.

8. IN THE NERVE SUPPLY, here again we find indications of conditions that are effects rather than causes; though oftentimes there arises disturbances in the organs when apparently the nerves are lacking in their abilities, or the body becomes all-nervous, all-tension, all-tautness through various portions of the system. These are from poisons that are as accumulations, that oftentimes disturb the ganglia and plexus of the nerve centers in both the cerebrospinal and sympathetic system; making for the nervous condition, the bad tastes in the mouth, the inactivity of the alimentary canal, the headaches, the heaviness in the limbs, the tiredness and trembling in the extremities - which are from nerve reflexes that occur at VARIOUS times.

9. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANS, these show also - as indicated - the same character of disturbance. Then, the specifics - or those conditions that produce or are the primary causes for same.

10. The manner of the activities of the body - being, and having been rather of the nature that tended toward the lack of a GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY of the body (and specific portions in the mental AND in the physical being used to excess) - has tended to make for the STRENUOUS conditions in the system.

11. Then, with the character of the WATER taken (which carries an over amount of calcium, lime and those of the silicon elements), there has been produced those tendencies of toxic forces through the digestive system, clogging at times the gall ducts, disturbing at others (with the mental activities) the secretions from the spleen - engorging same and acting upon the gastro-actions through the lymph and emunctory circulation in the digestive forces, the digestion becoming disturbed and causing the pancreas to overflow - or producing at other periods the activities to the kidneys, as to make for strain on the bladder and the functioning of the glands that make for secretions that would strain the blood

278-1 Page 3

through the circulation in the lower portion of the hepatics; these have left drosses in the system, drying the activities of the intestinal system itself, making for a form of lesion in the lacteal glands themselves; making for the tendency of constipation of a nature that, when disturbed only by those activities of elements that would produce an overflow of the secretions to make for activities in same, left fecal forces in such portions of the system as to make for the lack of elasticity in the intestinal muscular forces to produce a peristaltic movement necessary for the thorough cleansing of the system.

12. Hence we have those general debilitations that have arisen, with the mental faculties and abilities of the body carrying on in such a nature as to meet all emergencies as far as possible; yet gradually LOSING in its ability to combat those poisons and accumulations that make for various periods of affectation to the organs of the system.

13. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions of the body at this time, it will be necessary - as we have indicated - that all portions of the system be considered, and there should not be taken properties in a manner that will work to the detriment of some organs, or work with the functioning of some organs at the expense of others.

14. So, it will be necessary that there be changes gradually made, that will require changing in the kind, type or nature of applications, so there may be the proper stimuli to the various portions of the system as to enable a normal equilibrium to return, that the adjustments of the system to the various changes will not be of such a RADICAL nature as to be only temporary or to centralize or localize disturbance in some portion or organ that would be under strain with the changes made - see?

15. Hence, we would begin as in this manner:

16. First, let the body MENTALLY vision self beginning to eradicate and eliminate - POSITIVELY, TRULY - those conditions that would hinder the better activities of the mental and physical attributes of the body; knowing, as the changes come, that various portions of the system and the organs are being resuscitated in such a manner as to meet the needs, as well as the emergencies that will arise, in bringing about a normal activity for the body in and at the present time. This for the MENTAL attitude of the body.

17. We would begin first, then, with this:

18. Take Eno Salts for a period of eight days. Each morning take a dose as indicated by the manufacturers of same for the proper elimination. This carries the vegetable and fruit salts sufficient to make the character of activity

278-1 Page 4

necessary to combine with that which will be given at the END of the period to affect the glands, to stimulate them to their proper secretion for bringing about a change in the system - see?

19. On the ninth day, then (that is, after taking the Eno Salts for eight days), to begin with eight minims of Atomidine taken as the body is ready to retire. This would be taken each day for five days consecutively.

20. Then, do not take ANY properties for three days; that is, medicinal properties - see?

21. Begin then with Alcaroid as a digestant and eliminant, and with the Caroid Bile Salts as a cleanser for the system. Take these for eight days. The Alcaroid would be taken a level teaspoonful after each meal. The Caroid Bile Salts tablets would be taken one in the morning and one on retiring.

22. Now, during this whole period, take each day a FOUNTAIN enema; not a high enema, for we would strain those conditions that are existent in the colon itself too severely with the high enema. In the two quarts of tepid water used, put one level tablespoonful of plain salt and two level teaspoonsful of baking soda. Use all of this. Do not tax the system to eliminate from the lower portion of the descending colon too greatly, but retain as much of the enema as possible. When the two quarts of water have been used, then take another quart of tepid water; to this add a teaspoonful of Glyco-Thymoline and a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth. Leave as much as possible of THIS IN the bowel, see?

23. During the whole period the diet would be much as this, for we must retain the strength and vitality as much as possible:

24. Mornings - citrus fruit juices; not the pulp; as lemons, oranges and grapefruit - these may be altered from morning to morning, if so desired; with a little buckwheat cakes that are fried or prepared in butter and no sweets taken with same. Ovaltine or any cereal drink may be taken, or there may be taken the Bulgarian milk. At times the citrus fruits may be altered with stewed fruits, but do not include apples. Pears, apricots, peaches, raisins or the like may be taken, or at times there may be included the pieplant or ANY of the vegetables that act as an acid reducer.

25. Noons - each day, before beginning this meal, take half a teaspoonful of pure olive oil. Let this be the one green vegetable meal each day; as lettuce, spinach, celery, green peppers, onion tops and the onions themselves; peas that have been cooked PARTIALLY, and the like. With this salad

278-1 Page 5

there may be used either oil dressing (or French dressing), or mayonnaise; these would be the better. These vegetables may be altered at times, or occasionally (but not too often during the period we are taking these properties that have been outlined), with meat broths; as mutton, chicken or fowl of any nature, but not too much of beef - and no meat of other characters, unless venison, bear, or anything of that kind may be procured.

26. Evenings - this meal would consist of the cooked vegetables, but only those that grow ABOVE the ground. Do not include in this period ANY that grow UNDER the ground! Cooked lentils, spinach, beans - green beans, dried beans, lima beans, ANY of the white beans - any of these will be well. DO NOT have these cooked with pork of any kind! Most of the grease used with these should be butterfat, when they are cooked - see? Occasionally there may be taken, say once to twice a week, the white meat of chicken or of mutton - these may be taken in moderation.

27. At the end of the period of the Alcaroid and Caroid Bile Salts we would give further instructions.

28. Ready for questions.

29. (Q) Are Crazy Crystals from Mineral Wells, Texas, the right water for me? (A) WE would take what WE have given!
