Time of Reading 3:35 to 4:15 P. M.

1. GC: You will have before you the work of the Glad Helpers, members of which are present in this room. You will give them such counsel and guidance as they need at this time, and will answer the questions which will be asked regarding their work.

2. EC: Yes, we have the work and the members of the Glad Helpers, present in this room. In seeking aid or counsel, well that such take stock - as it were - of self, and that the group as a group may contribute, and how each individual may be contributory to the work of the group. That there is being much accomplished in the experience of many through the efforts of the group is a fact. That much is being gained by individuals in group, through their activities and the concerted activities of the group, is evidenced.

3. In the counsel at the present, then, keep ever before thee thy ideal in the Christ, for the healing, the counsel, the hope, the harmony, the peace that comes to all must come through that consciousness of the indwelling of that love in the experiences of all.

4. Keep faithful, then, in thine service, in being a channel of blessings to many. Be not weary. Be not slothful. Be not unmindful of that which is set before thee. Turn not back, but press on to the more glorious light that comes with the closer walk with Him day by day.

5. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) Please give five affirmations for patients to be used by them. (A) First: MAY THERE COME INTO MY CONSCIOUSNESS MORE AND MORE THE LOVE OF THE FATHER, THROUGH THE SON, DAY BY DAY. Second: LET THE WORDS OF MY MOUTH AND THE MEDITATIONS OF MY HEART BE SUCH, O LORD, AS TO BRING IN MY EXPERIENCE THAT THOU SEEST I HAVE NEED OF AT THIS TIME. Third: LET THY WAYS BE MY WAYS. MAY THE DESIRE OF MY

281-19 Page 2

HEART, O LORD, BE EVER IN KEEPING WITH THY WILL. THY WILL, O LORD, BE DONE IN ME. Fourth: IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE ARE MANY MANSIONS. LET ME SO CONDUCT MY LIFE, MY WAYS OF LIVING, AS TO BE IN KEEPING WITH THAT HE WOULD HAVE ME DO TO BECOME WORTHY OF HIS BLESSINGS. CREATE IN ME A PURE HEART AND RENEW A RIGHTEOUS SPIRIT WITHIN ME. Fifth: MAY MY WAYS AND THY WAYS, O LORD, BE ONE IN THE CHRIST-LIFE, IN THE CHRIST-CONSCIOUSNESS. AND MAY HIS GRACE, AND MERCY, AND PEACE, ABIDE WITH ME. Sixth: LET MY LIFE BE IN THE WAY THOU WOULD HAVE IT GO. LET THY LOVE, THY HEALING POWER, BE IN ME: AND LET ME EVER SAY, "THY WILL BE DONE IN MY LIFE: THOU, O LORD, THE GUIDE: THOU PROTECT ME JUST NOW."

7. (Q) Would it be well to send those seeking aid through these channels a letter thanking them for love offering? (A) Would be well.

8. (Q) Please give a verse of scripture that could be used for same. (A) LET MERCY, PEACE AND LOVE ABIDE IN THEE, FOR THE LOVE THOU HAST SHOWN IN THINE OWN LIFE.

9. (Q) [585]: Have I had sufficient preparation to begin work in the Glad Helpers? (A) Seek thine own heart. Purge it from every thought that would separate thee from the love of the Christ-Consciousness. WHO would tell thee thou art worthy of this or that? Not through these channels, for all have an access to the Father always - as He dwells in thine heart. Put into activity that thou knowest to do, being guided by the love, that protection, that comes with knowing that you KNOW that Christ abides in thee.

10. (Q) Have I had the experience of speaking with Him? (A) Thou knowest.

11. (Q) [560]: We were told to send cooperative report blanks to those seeking aid. There are many that ask to be put on our prayer list that do not want blanks sent. We do not want to offend. Please advise how this should be handled. (A) Let all be done in decency and in order, but remember - as He gave - "If thine eye offend thee, pluck it out! If thine hand offend thee, cut it off!" Yet be gentle, be insistent, be persistent in keeping the pathway open that all may be helped or aided in their seeking.

12. (Q) Were we able to help C. H. Hicks before he passed on? And why did I feel so confident that he would recover? May

281-19 Page 3

some enlightenment be given? (A) As each seeks to give expression of that felt within self, may be of the BEST of seed; yet seed falls upon all characters of soil, even as He has shown. Yet those that would sow the word of truth, or that would manifest His love as the sower, FALTER not. Aid came. Be not discouraged. It will bear fruit.

13. (Q) Would appreciate if a little more light could be given on message given me October 5, 1931. [281-1, Par. 7-A] (A) This, as many that have been given thee, is in thine OWN INNER understanding to be gained by the closer walk and by the meditating within thine own self. And as the way is opened, step by step is there SHOWN thee that thou hast a work to do - a service to render in HIS name. For, each keeps this ever before self - though chosen as a channel, thou of thyself may do nothing. The Spirit of the Christ working in and through thee will bring the fruits of the Spirit in the experience of those that thou would lead to the light. In leading others thou gainest thy self.

14. (Q) [69]: Is it detrimental to the organs of the average person to take cooking soda three times each day? [See 69-3.] (A) This would depend, to be sure, upon the quantity taken and much of the character of the food that has been or is in the system. If the food values are such that there is produced a caustic, then must become VERY detrimental, even in SMALL quantities - if persisted in. A little soda water occasionally, if there is the tendency for alkalinity in the the food VALUES, that the functioning of the organs may be kept in accord, is beneficial. Too great a quantity becomes detrimental.

15. (Q) Please give me such counsel as I NEED at this time. (A) Be not impatient with thyself nor with thy neighbors. Be not unmindful that He, the Pattern, suffered long - and STILL was kind; that He endured unto the end and is seeking ever to aid thee in EVERY condition that confronts thee in thine daily experience. And be not weary, then, IN well-doing, but keep the heart singing - and the expectancy for great things to be accomplished in His name. And there will come those influences, those experiences, that make the living experience in the present more and more worth while. And the ONLY thing that endureth is patience.

16. (Q) [993]: Please interpret the following dream which I received a few days before Christmas: "I was climbing a ladder and as I approached the top I became conscious of one round being out of ladder at the top. It was with great difficulty that I continued the climb at this point.

281-19 Page 4

Thankful to say, I was able with my finger tips to reach the top. It took all my strength to pull my body up. Those who were following back of me seemed to have no such difficulty, and one of the group made that remark. There was an answer by one already there, that as I made the climb I had laid the last round in the ladder. (A) Both prophetic and profound in THIS experience of the body-consciousness with the soul's experience. That the ladder represents the Way is evidenced, as has been given in interpretations for those that visioned even the ladder to heaven upon which there ascended and descended the angels of light. In that the rung was missing and that self had to make the effort to attain the top makes for those experiences oft in the mind's consciousness of many, that others that self considers as having an easy way do not become confronted with those hardships as, as is felt at times, are experienced by others. But rather as the voice that came from above, when the self had made the way easier for those that would ascend by the experiences of self, that "I AM the way," knowing that He made of Himself no estate that others THROUGH Him might have the access to the Father. And as the voice of those who cry the way is easier that thou hast made the last rung, for us; and as there is the cry from above, "Well done," there should come that peace within self that thine work of thine hand is acceptable in His sight. Be not unto vainglory, but rather in that happiness that passeth understanding in knowing that the work of thine hands is acceptable in His sight.

17. (Q) Please explain the difference between the Holy Spirit speaking through an individual and when it is an entity from the other side, and why I so desire the Holy Spirit, the Teacher within. After having opened myself, should I receive any communications from outside entities? (A) As has been the warning to all, so encompass self with the thoughts of the Christ-Consciousness that only that which may come from the THRONE itself may BE the source of that which will guide or direct thee in thy seeking. The Holy Spirit has been pointed out in its activity as designating an individual in the earth for a particular service in the earth; while the communication that may come from outside forces or entities - even though they may be sent as messengers - is as a relay. Just as the experiences of many of ye that are gathered here may receive through these channels that which will aid thee in awakening to the possibilities, the responsibilities, within thine OWN experience - but to experience that THOU HAST been AWAKENED

281-19 Page 5

from within in thine own consciousness of being in closer walk with Him is more glorious still - and only known by those who EXPERIENCE same. Both are wonderful. One is as of guided by the spirit of truth. The other as relayed to thine consciousness.

18. (Q) Will you give us a message for the following individuals who have offered themselves for healing work? First, [[910]'s mother]: (A) Let thy service in the vineyard of the Lord be without thought of self; for they that labor in HIS vineyard are worthy of the hire, yet must keep the mind, the heart, the soul, seeking for the light. Thou may be a channel of blessing to many, through Him - through HIM!

19. (Q) MARGARET SIMPSON: (A) Keep the heart singing. Be more joyous in thine service day by day. "Not EVERY one that saith Lord, Lord, but he that doeth the will of the Father." Thou may aid in helping others to find the way. Be gentle, be kind, be meek.

20. (Q) [1629]: (A) In thine getting, get understanding, and know that His ways are before thee - and that the spirit of truth dwells within. Do WILLINGLY that thy hands find to do in the service of the Lord, and the Lord is not a respecter of persons. Thou mayest aid in opening the way for many to find the light.

21. (Q) [603]: (A) Oft do the experiences of self find that self condemns self, and feels or appears as NOT willing - or as not an open channel for His ways. Yet thou, in thine own self, hast that which may set the WORLD on fire for the Lord; that of sincerity with self. Keep thine heart pure. Thou mayest bring peace and harmony to many by the gentleness of the Christ words through thine own self.

22. (Q) ETHEL HORTON: (A) Keep thine feet firm in the way the Lord may direct thee, knowing that His whole gospel is in, "Love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and thy neighbor as thyself." In thy activities, then, make the way known that the Christ loves every soul - and wills that none should be lost.

23. (Q) [540]: (A) Keep thine feet on the path of light and thou shalt walk in few shadows, and shall draw many in the way that will lead to the greater service in thy Master. Serve Him in body, in mind, in the soul, and the growth - and the bounty in peace, in harmony in thine experience will be the gift of the Father.

281-19 Page 6

24. (Q) [585]: (A) Use that thou hast in hand, keeping thy feet firm in the path of the way the Christ has trod. He that is tempted is not tempted beyond that he is able to bear, if his heart is in the way of the Lord. Thine aid to many may bring joy to many. Be joyous. Be happy, in the service thou mayest render.

25. (Q) [295]: Any counsel for me pertaining to the Glad Helpers work? (A) Be not as condemning of any as to their manner of approach; not even within thine own heart. Know the Lord loveth the cheerful giver, not in moneys but in grace, in mercy, in peace - that thine own activities may bring in thy service in every way, to those in the group or those who seek to find hope and life in the Name of the Christ.

26. (Q) [288]: Since I feel innately that I am a part of this group, but am often unable materially to observe set periods for meditation, could I aid the group and the prayer list by calling the names just before going to sleep at night - or should I not be known as a member of the group? (A) Wilt thou but reverse thine position with those that seek aid, or those that may be giving of themselves, this may answer in thine own conscience. As He has given, not as an observer of times, of seasons, of days or of years, but rather he that purposes in the heart to use those abilities He has given thee in the service of HIM whose love thou would MANIFEST in the earth. Withdraw not, for he that looketh back is worse than the infidel. Keep ye all in the Way. Be happy. Be joyous. And may love and mercy and peace, that cometh from the Father to those who use themselves in His service, be WITH thee. Amen.

27. We are through.
