Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:25 P. M.
1. GC: You will have before you the Glad Helpers, members of which are present here, and others who are desirous of helping to carry on the work at this time. You will give them such guidance and counsel as needed at this time, and answer the questions which will be asked.
2. EC: Yes, we have the group as gathered here - the Glad Helpers; and their purposes, and their activities.
3. In considering that as may be given as a helpful force and influence for those gathered here:
4. Know, as has been given, ye have been chosen for a definite, purposeful work.
5. While you each have had your fears, your doubts, your uprisings, your downsittings - yet in giving ye find rest and PEACE and comfort as He alone can give.
6. It is evident that changes have come in thy personnel, yet ye know in Whom she has believed, and ye know she [560] walks with Jesus. [See 281-40 Reports.]
7. Hence there should be the greater determination in thy OWN minds and hearts, that ye will carry on in His name that she has so well manifested among you.
8. Let that be then an incentive for each of you, in that love, in that strength, in that beauty of purpose which has been manifested. Let it then not be lost because of thy neglect, of thy sorrow.
9. For He, too, was a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief. He has promised that all tears would be wiped away, and they ARE for those who wholly put their trust in Him.
10. Ye have begun a helpful, hopeful work among thy fellow man. Be ye not weary, then, in well-doing; nor become negligent or unmindful of the little things that may bring to thy consciousness the spreading of the awareness of the Christ's love for each of you.
11. For He stands at the door of thy heart, of thy consciousness; and as He has given, "Ask in my name,
281-40 Page 2
believing, and it shall be done unto thee."
12. What greater promise, what greater blessing may come to any soul than to know that He cares! yea, that He is mindful of thy petitions, of thy aches, thy pains, thy disappointments, thy sorrows, thy joys, thy exultations.
13. Then, stand ye as true friends of Him who gave His life that YE might have life and have it more abundantly.
14. Have any among you ever taken thought as to what was the condition of the world when He made intercession IN the world for you? Would, COULD, life have remained in the earth without His having given His life for those who were seeking to know God! No! For in those days when it was necessary that the wickedness which had risen as a stench before the throne of God be eliminated from material manifestation, HE in that day offered Himself that ye here, now, might know the love the Father hath for the children of men!
15. With that knowledge, then - will ye not - as chosen vessels, channels, brethren of His - stand in that place as He gave - "My word I leave with thee - my promises that I will abide with thee!"
16. Will ye as those KNOWING this love, this promise then, put them aside because of the slights that may be expressed by those who know not? or the doubts by those who have only caught a glimpse? or the dejections of those who have sought and who seek rather to satisfy the desires of the flesh for a season?
17. Then look up, lift up thy hearts to Him. For He is thy guide, thy Lord, thy Christ.
18. Ready for questions.

20. (Q) Please give the name of the one who should fill the vacancy of secretary. (A) There will be no filling. One may act for and with them. Edgar Cayce.
21. (Q) How should we present the Glad Helpers work to the Congress in June? Should we attempt to have a meditation period each day - if so, what time would be best? We would appreciate any information as to how we could best present same to the Congress. (A) On the periods and the days that Readings are attempted, do it just before that period; presenting that activity of the Glad Helpers as a part of the whole, - asking all to join that will. For whosoever will may know, if they will but open their minds and hearts, that He will enter and abide with them also.
22. (Q) [993]: Last year while applying the Radio-Active Appliance to an individual there came to me the realization that there was a lesson I could learn from such that would be helpful in group meditation. I was told that when using the Radio-Active Appliance to select one of the discs to be used as the positive one, and to continue to use the same one each time while the individual was using the Appliance, to prevent cross currents. My interpretation was that a group coming together to meditate should also select one of the group to be the positive one to make the attunement for the group. Not that one was any better than the others in the group, but one should be chosen to be the positive one to avert cross currents coming into the meditation. Each member of the group could be chosen as a positive one for another group. Please clarify this experience and give enlightenment upon same. (A) The experience was correct, not only as to the manner of the application of the combination of elements that act with the magnetic currents of the body, but as to the shadow or the figure of a manner in which such an activity in a group may be made the more positive.
23. (Q) Why do I feel so strongly that Edgar Cayce and myself should work more in unison in meditation? Please explain. (A) This has been felt or expressed by many. Owing to those activities that have been indicated, these should then become positive in the further carrying on of the work.
281-40 Page 5
24. (Q) How best can we do this? (A) There must be the regular periods that this is carried on, as the work of the group is made materially manifest in its distribution to others.
25. (Q) What type of booklet or pamphlet regarding our work would you recommend that we publish before the Congress in June? (A) Wait! Publish before the Congress in June a year. [See 281-45, Par. 12-A.]
26. (Q) As the names of those are called that are anxious to help carry on the Glad Helpers work, please give each a message that will help. First, [585]. (A) Hold fast to the trust and hope and love thou hast for the work that enables thee to give to others a strength, a hope that ye as ye give - may receive.
27. (Q) [379]: (A) LET LOVE AND FAITH, AND HOPE, KEEP THEE. AS YE GIVE AND BRING SUCH TO THE EXPERIENCE OF OTHERS IT GROWS AND MAGNIFIES IN THINE OWN EXPERIENCE.
28. (Q) [603]: (A) Let not disappointments and disturbances alter thee in thy sincerity of purpose. Keep faith with thy promises, if ye would have His love, His promises keep faith with thee!
29. (Q) [307]: (A) Let thy disappointments and sorrows take wings. Let love and hope remain with thee. For they are as a matter of application in thine own thoughts, thine own words. For as ye give expression to same, they take form.
30. (Q) [404]: (A) Keep hold of the power in His name! For there is no other name given under heaven whereby men may be saved!
31. (Q) [[910]'s mother]: (A) Hold fast to the truth that is in His promises to thee. For as ye become aware of them being thine own and to thee, ye become more able, more strengthened in His love.
32. (Q) Louise Dill: (A) Let prayer be without ceasing. Hold fast to that which is good. STRENGTHEN thy brethren.
33. (Q) [993]: (A) HOLD FAST to Him! Let not fear enter in. For, surrounding thyself with His love, no doubt, no fear, COULD enter in.
34. (Q) [288]: (A) Keep the faith that enables thee to remove mountains of doubt and fear. Let love rule, and not hate nor doubt nor fear. For the strength of the Lord is in KEEPING happy at His work.
35. (Q) [294]:
281-40 Page 6
(A) Be faithful.
36. (Q) [540]: (A) Let thy heart be glad that thou art counted among those that show forth His love to others. Keep that faith, that love that casteth out fear; and ye will find peace.
37. (Q) [413]: (A) Let thy heart be glad. Let thy activities be in keeping with that thou believest. For He is able to keep that thou committest unto Him against any turmoil, any strifes. For even the elements obey Him. He IS thy might and thy strength!
38. (Q) We were told to divide the body into 12 major divisions - (A) (Interrupting) We are through. ugh.
