This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of November, 1939, in accordance with request made by the Prayer Group of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc. - Present:

P R E S E N T

R E A D I N G

Time of Reading 3:05 to 3:25 P. M.

1. HLC: [He gave the same suggestion as in obtaining 281-43 on 11/8/39.]

2. EC: Yes, we have the psychic work of Edgar Cayce, the Prayer Group and the relations to same that have been indicated - through that as indicated or given of the Egyptian experience.

3. As has been given, varied members of the present group, as well as others, were active during that experience, - aiding through prayer, meditation, and LIVING each day among their associates in such ways as to be in keeping with that for which they prayed and meditated.

4. So, in the present - as there are the attempts, through the various phases or stages of the application of psychic information - it behooves each member of the group present, as well as those who may be influenced or induced (by their own choice) to become members of such a group, to live such a life (as in that experience) as may not be questioned, even by self.

5. Also it behooves them to so meditate and pray as to aid the entity, Edgar Cayce, as an individual, in such a way and manner as to bring more and more into the consciousness of those who seek through these channels the effect of the living water, the bread of life, the fruit of the spirit.

6. Thus ALL may come to be in that position of living holy, acceptable lives unto Him - who is able to keep that which has been committed unto each, in such measures that they, too, may be the light shining in darkness; leading others to their greater opportunities, their greater abilities.

7. As to what office each is to fulfill - such things are not mandatory, but rather that "Whosoever will" may present self. Thus there may be harmony, unity, oneness of purpose in Him; that He, the Christ, may be magnified in your lives more and more.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) How does the individual become active in the present, as did those individuals in that experience who were not so closely knit in matter? (A) Just as indicated. There are many of those who are active by choice. "Choose ye this day whom ye will serve!" How? By choice!

10. (Q) What is meant by automatons who labored in that experience? Were they individual souls developing, or was it spiritual evolution? (A) Both, and neither. They were the offspring of the Sons of God with the Daughters of Men, or vice versa.

11. (Q) What part of the service in the temple might be applied or used beneficially now? (A) Purifying of self, in body and in mind.

12. (Q) Please give an explanation, in so far as our understanding permits, of the methods and techniques used at that time, in order to cleanse the physical bodies of their animal characteristics and other undesirable conditions. (A) The passage of individuals (to be sure, by choice) through the experiences in the Temple of Sacrifice was much as would be in the hospitalization, or a hospital of the present day - when there have become antagonistic conditions within the physical body, such as to produce tumors, wens, warts or such. Magnify this into the disturbances which were indicated, or illustrated in conditions where there was the body or figure of the horse, or the head of the horse with the body of man; or where there were the various conditions indicated in the expressions by the pushing of spirit into physical matter until it became influenced by or subject to same. Such influences we see in the present manifested as habits, or the habit-forming conditions. Then there are, or were the needs for the attempts to operate, as well as to adhere to diets and activities to change the natures of the individuals; that their offspring, as well as themselves, might bring forth that which was in keeping with - or a pattern of - those influences in which there were SOULS or spirits with the idea, or ideal, of seeking light. For, how is it termed in the record? That the heart and purpose of man is to do evil! In the present when evil has taken hold, it forms itself

into those influences which are called habits, or inclinations, or intents; and it is necessary to eliminate these from the purposes and aims and desires of individuals. So were the experiences through those activities in the Temple Service of what is known as the Temple of Sacrifice; sacrificing self that the spirit, the purpose, the love of God might be made manifest through the individual.

13. (Q) Who was that individual "sought out" by the Priest to aid him? (A) The former King, who entered with his people into the Egyptian experience - as has been indicated heretofore.

14. (Q) How did the individuals in the present prayer group work individually with the Priest, and how should they work in the present? (A) As outlined, with their present abilities and possibilities, and desires and hopes, they are to apply themselves in those directions in which they may be ONE in purpose, in desire.

15. (Q) What was the character of the Atlantean teachings, that the Priest was called back to counteract? (A) That all those who were without sufficient of the purposes to seek the whole light, because of the very influence of the appendages and conditions which had been manifested in materiality such as to make them "things," were to be kept submerged to be used by those with the greater abilities. The Priest held that these were one, and that such conditions offered the possibilities through which each soul might find a way of escape - by and through the purifying of the body in each experience, that the activities of same - in its passage through the various experiences necessary - might eventually become channels thru which blessings, and knowledge of the divine influence and force, might be made manifest.
