This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home in Pinewood on Lake Drive, Va. Beach, Va., this 23rd day of April, 1932, in accordance with request made by those present.

1. GC: You will have before you the information which has been given regarding the psychic work of Edgar Cayce, present in this room. You will answer the questions which we will ask regarding the various phases of this phenomenon.

2. EC: Yes, we have the work and the information as has been given. Also the various phases of same, with its development and retardments in the experiences of the manifestations - as has been seen from period to period. Ready for questions.

3. (Q) What other glands in the body, if any, besides the Leydigian, pineal, and glands of reproduction, are directly connected with psychic development? (A) These three are the ducts, or glands. In some developments these have reached a stage where they do not function as ducts or glands, but are rather dormant; yet much passes through same, especially for the various stages of a psychical sojourn or development. These, as we find - the genitive organism is as the motor, and the Leydig as a sealed or open door, dependent upon the development or the use same has been put to by the entity in its mental, its spiritual, activity. The mental may have been misused, or used aright. The spiritual activity goes on just the same. It is as the electron that is Life itself; but raised in power and then misdirected may bring death itself, or - as in the activities of the glands as seen, or ducts - that used aright may bring serenity, hope, peace, faith, understanding, and the attributes of its source, as the experience of the entity; or, misdirected, may bring those doubts, fears, apprehensions, contentions, disorders, disruptions, in every portion of the body. Hence these may literally be termed, that the pineal and the Leydig are the SEAT of the soul of an entity.

As to the abilities of physical reproduction, much of the activity of the Leydig makes for that as of embryonic in its activity, or of sterility in its activity. So we have those

channels. These are not the psychic forces, please understand! They are the CHANNELS through which the activities have their impulse! though the manifestations may be in sight, in sound, in speech, in vision, in writing, in dreams, in Urim or Thummim, or in any. For these represent Urim and Thummim in their essence, or in ANY of the RESPONDING forces in a body; but their impulse arises from or through these sources in much the same manner as the heart and the liver are of the physical body the motivating forces, or impulses, that carry the stream of life itself; or as the brain is that motivating center of impulse or mind. These are merely as illustrations that the student may better understand the activity of that being presented. [See subsequent [281] series on glands.]

4. (Q) Describe the psychic development of this entity Edgar Cayce in the Persian experience as Uhjltd and the direct influence on the present manner of giving or obtaining this information. [See 294-8 & 294-19.] (A) In giving a development as may be understandable, much of the environ and the development of the entity in an experience would be necessary, if these are to be compared, or if parallels are to be drawn for one to comprehend much that must have taken place in the developings or experiences to bring about the phases of phenomena as manifested in this experience of Uhjltd.

In the first, we find that the entity Uhjltd was an incarnation of Asapha [?] and also of the priest, both experiences being in Egypt or Adonis and Asapha. In entering, then, we find, in the land then known as Iran, there were those that had held true to those teachings that had been propounded by the teachers in the Egyptian - or the land of the sun. With that coming together of those of Ur [pre-Abraham period?] interpretation, there had been set up in this land of Iran a group who sought again to establish those ideals that had been given from the land of the sun; and with the coming together of the daughters of Ra and of the son of Zu, [See 294-147 in re Ra-Ta in Egypt having been son of daughter of Zu in Arabia] there came into the physical experience that entity called in the physical Uhjltd, who in the youth rose then to be the nominal leader of the peoples of the plains, yet with the inroads made by those in authority that had set up kingdoms then in Iran and in the land later known as Greece and Turkey, or then Macedonia and Basalamus [?] - these making inroads - the physical act was retaliation by the gaining of the aid from those of the surrounding or adjoining clans, or ans [?] as

called then - for this was what was known or called, or has been described as raids by the peoples of this particular following. These, then, under this leadership, put in - or brought about - physical prowess, attempting oft to use much of that as was innate in the entity from the former appearances, or experiences, as a leader in the various groups that were formed from the teachings of the entity. This brought, then, bloodshed; yet was there ever the attempt of the leader to make rather by persuasion than by the shedding of blood those that were taken, or were induced by the various manners of activity, to side or to join in the attempt of retaliation of raids. In this particular land, during that period of the second raid on the capitals and the outlying posts of those people retaliated against, the entity then was taken in by the wiles of the daughter of one that had been in the schools that had been raided by some of the other members of the Yen [?] or clan. In this capacity the entity Uhjltd was then CHAINED in the walls of this outpost, both hands and feet, and - as there was the little association or communication - the one that had brought same in, or made for the possible capture of this one - sought, through the efforts of one that was being guarded by the same group, that had been instructress, to know something OF this leader that had become as a by-word, or - as would be termed in the present - an individual of renown. In this association, through the abilities of the entity, or body Uhjltd, there was the persuasion that the escape be attempted, and the irons were loosed; and, as there was the attempt to escape from the tower (not dungeons yet had come about. Rather there was more of humanitarianism, yet those of persecutions in manners were evident - by the chains) - in the escape there was the attempt of both these bodies that had aided in same to prevent, if possible, the liable capture of the entity, or body, or Uhjltd. In this they were spied upon by those in authority, and for their lack of vigilance - or their seeming or apparent turning to aid that which had brought ABOUT what would seem to have made for peace - they were cast from the tower. In the escape, as Uhjltd rode on his own dapple charger, or horse, this was seen - and the return for the body that was cast from the tower. And in the attempt to then succor this one back to life, there was the necessity of trips - not back to the own people, for the leaders THEN in Uhjltd's own guard had turned somewhat against him and were attempting to THEMSELVES become leaders, or the rulers of the clans in Iran's lands. In these visitations then, to Egypt and to Mesopotamia, and to

Ibex, and to Syria, there gradually grew up about this cave - where this care, or charge, was being cared for, that which became a camp. In the period when there was the withdrawal first of these groups from this portion of the land, with the injury as had been received by both, there was little but meditation upon the sands, and in the skies - that spoke so much to this leader, in Uhjltd. With these that were recalled through those activities of the love as manifest to one that had been an enemy, and to those attributes as were added from time to time in the bringing about all those aids or the succor for those that gradually gathered about the leader, or Uhjltd, there developed that ability for the entity to call upon the unseen sources for the information necessary to aid those individuals so succored, so aided in this experience. And when joined with the companion - that later brought forth that leader [Zend?] who was to become the power that has ruled this portion of the land in some directions - then greater became the POWER of the abilities of that entity in that experience to manifest that in the various ways and manners as called psychic forces, psychic abilities. In that there was, then, the conscious AND unconscious activities that gradually became the ability to become as one WELL endowed with the abilities to be the teacher of that one who became the world teacher and the Savior of men [Jesus]. In the SPIRITUAL sense, the physical sense, Uhjltd was an excellent teacher - for were he not once the priest? yet he faltered in the next return, and the next return, to earth! [Greece, America, France] Hence we find the consciousness must be submerged, that there may be a harking back, or an awakening of those elements or channels sufficient within the body to bring about that which would aid, counsel, advise, or bring those things to the minds and hearts of men that would make for a closer association with the Creative Forces within human experience in the earth's plane.

In the days then that followed, with this gradual building up from those that had been first as outcasts from their own kind, in the various spheres of experience, the entity builded a great city - or RATHER a great FIELD of tents! and the teachings that were given by the emissaries who came in from many lands, when there were the establishing of greater associations. For the POWER of the leader then went out, gradually, by the efforts of those emissaries, as made for a power to be reckoned with among the nations. For there was rather that which bore upon the people, that this man was of heaven, rather than of earth. In this period, then, many

were the developings of those periods, and much of that which later became as a portion of the archives (or what would be termed library) in Alexandria was of the teachings, and the lands of what later became the grandson (as known in the flesh) of Uhjltd, as the Zoroastrians, and those peoples that went into those that brought to the Carmanians [?], also to the Pyrenees, also to Ararat, and those into the Caspians, and those of the later Huns, Gauls, and Norse - or Iddos [?].

In this development, then - these were through the things he suffered in body and mind, until these were cleansed and no hate, no ideas of the retrogression were in the active forces, or the activating force in the experience of the entity Uhjltd in the land.

From this experience, then, does there come that ability for the casting aside of the carnal mind of the physical forces, and there speaks then as the oracles - or to that Throne, or that as builded to which the direction may be sent from those seeking.

5. We are through for the present.
