Time of Reading 3:40 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.
1. GC: You will have before you the entity, Edgar Cayce, present in this room, and his work being studied and presented by the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc. You will consider all conditions related to the physical, mental and spiritual activities of this entity, including his own dreams, warnings from others, and the message through Faith Hope Charity Harding relative to a needed rest and preparation for a different tempo of work. From the highest point of his own God-Consciousness, and in the light of his desire to be a channel of the Christ- Consciousness, he seeks guidance at this time. You will answer the questions which are submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, now known as or called Edgar Cayce; and the information which manifests through the body from the suggestion of others; the study, the analyzing of same through the efforts of the Association; and the warnings indicated through individuals, as well as dreams by the entity.
3. It has been indicated again and again through these channels that this period of activity of the entity called Edgar Cayce is a replica of, or follows closely in, the activities of the experience through that called the Egyptian period.
4. As indicated, there was a period of banishment, a period of reclamation; then came the period of regeneration through the revivifying of the physical forces in the entity manifesting in that material plane.
5. Such has been envisioned by some, who have in one manner or another touched upon the records - either in symbols or in other manners that may have taken voice; though words are often feeble symbols of that which is the intent of the individual entity or mind to express, as to that which transpires within the individual as an enlivened image.
6. As related to this entity - it has been given again and again that there should not be the attempts to induce or to

give information for others when physical hindrances arise.
7. It is necessary, then, that there be periods of rest, - which have been adhered to at one period or another, and then disregarded again and again. There should be periods of prayer, meditation; periods of cleansing of body and mind; periods when there is given only this or that form of manifestations of the information, or characteristic activities of individuals or groups in their search through such channels, or such ways or manners of seeking their relationships, or their hopes.
8. These then should be kept more and more as the study of analysis - that it is intended to give to others a manner, or form, or way in which they also may use their psychic or soul forces (rather than psychic, if choosing to call it such) for the interpreting of their experiences.
9. Then, keep the life, the activities, the experiences of the entity inviolate. Know - as has been indicated not only through these channels but through the promises of Him whom ye seek to manifest among the children of men - so long as the Christ-Consciousness abides, there is little fault, little hindrance in physical, mental or spiritual forces.
10. Thus, keep these activities first and foremost in thy thoughts, in thy applications day by day.
11. Have regular rest days, then, as well as periods of relaxation and recreation.
12. Have checks made by the material physician as well as by the mental and spiritual physician, that there may be a better manner or channel for bringing the better understanding to those who seek His Face.
13. Ready for questions.
14. (Q) Would it be advisable for Edgar Cayce to take a rest from giving daily Readings? If so, for how long? (A) As just indicated, there should be each week the daily periods of rest. In the present, a period of five to ten days should be sufficient for a rest; but this should be spent in some form or manner of recreation that adds to the general welfare physically and mentally of the body.
15. (Q) Is there any special place where this rest should be taken, or conditions that should be involved? (A) Change of scene makes a change of environ that adds to the helpfulness - but it should be in those directions indicated. For, with this body - as well as it SHOULD be with all bodies that keep their mental balance - to change the activity of the MIND is to change the whole environ of the

body!
16. (Q) If meditation and prayer are advisable as important emphases of this rest period, give such advice as may be of help to Edgar Cayce regarding same. (A) This meditation and prayer is here offered daily. There needs be rather the body expended more in the manner indicated - as to the general physical as well as mental welfare of the body.
17. (Q) Mr. [2091], Mrs. [2174] & Dr. [2246] have invited Edgar Cayce and his wife to be their guests on the property where an oil well is being drilled on a location selected through information given through this channel. Should this trip be made and if so when, taking into consideration the possibility of being present when this well comes into production? (A) Best that the entity NOT be on the ground when production is reached - because of what others would say. [See 1561-13 on 5/15/40.] As for such a trip, and such an association - if it is in keeping with the desires of all persons concerned, and there is the desire of those who would furnish the material needed for such changes - very well for such to be taken at once.
18. (Q) Considering all conditions regarding this trip, would it be most satisfactory to go by automobile or railroad? (Q) Train.
19. (Q) Any other guidance at this time? (A) For those present, rather than as counsel for the body, - analyze that which has been indicated; and as ye believe, and as ye have found this to be good, keep it in thy daily life.
