1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [296], and those conditions that disturb the body at times.

2. Now, as we find, there are some disturbing conditions that have to do with the resuscitation for better distribution of that assimilated, and specific conditions that at times cause some uneasiness; yet these are rather the general debilitations. If there will be added those elements or impulses that will make for a better coordination in the mental and material conditions for the system, all forces that manifest in the functioning of the organs will be improved; and thus bring for the system a better reaction throughout.

3. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [296], we are speaking of, present in this room:

4. In the BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find somewhat deficient at times both as to quality and quantity, especially in the red blood supply. This over-exertion is rather from the tendencies that arise for exhaustion in the general nervous system, and of specifics that use more energies than normally necessary in the functioning.

5. Hence we find the katabolism, rather than the metabolism of the system, is disturbed; through the effects indicated in the circulation or to the heart beat, and the type of disturbance in the nerve and blood supply, show how the system is disturbed in this direction.

6. We find, too, that the forces or organs with the structural portions, wherein there is the creation of the red blood cells themselves, show a character of anemia which has been referred to in the general conditions.

7. In the NERVE SYSTEM, or systems, here we find a well-balanced body, mentally as well as coordinatedly balanced; although oftentimes from the sheer exhaustion and worry there is indicated that the disturbing forces arise from the general nervous system.

296-1 Page 2

8. Rather would we give that the depletion in portions of the system, as related to the replenishing or resuscitating influences, makes for the those deficiencies or manifestations in a nerve disorder, than any specific plexus or disorder that affects the nervous system.

9. So, as we find, the disturbances in this direction are the effects, rather than an affectation of the nerve forces of the body; though the manifestations shown are the real reactions through the nervous system.

10. As to the ORGANS of the body:

11. In brain forces and the reactions to the sensory system, or sensory nervous forces, the body often works mentally and physically on the sheer nerve forces of the system, but is well-balanced in discernments and in the reactions.

12. To be sure, many of those conditions that come as reflexes from the character of nerve exhaustion show their effects in the sympathetics, as related to the sensory; as at times disturbances in the eyes, ears, the taste at times seems as if opposite or not responding in the normal manner. This is rather the lack of forces that supply that which makes for resuscitation, as indicated, to the nerve supplies of the body.

13. Lungs, bronchi, larynx - these are very good. The reactions from the conditions as indicated, in an anemia (of a nature), causes the respiratory system to show the effect upon the general body; but as for organs themselves and their functioning in this direction, these are good.

14. As to the digestive system and the heart's action:

15. The heart's action and those reflexes that arise from the form of toxemia which comes from those tendencies of the improper reactions through the eliminations, in the form of those tendencies of irritations in eliminations, make for these reflections towards digestive forces; as well as the heart's action as related to the character of circulation in the system.

16. In the organs of the hepatic circulation, here we again find where some specific conditions show this general debilitation; though at times from reactions appear to be organic in their nature, yet, as we find, if there will be added those elements which will make for a stimulation to the general reactions of the body, and for the better distribution, making for all balancing forces in the elementals and of the atomic forces in system, these conditions will show a great improvement in the general physical welfare of the body; and we should find in a few months an enlivening to where the body would feel much younger, much better reaction in every manner, with the

296-1 Page 3

abilities to have - as may be expressed in this manner - more "pep", more resistance in the general conditions of the body.

17. This will also aid in those tendencies to relieve constipation, and those conditions that arise at specific times from these disturbances in the alimentary canal, as well as those specifics in the disturbance in the lower hepatic circulation.

18. Then, in meeting the needs as we would find for this body, [296], we are speaking of, we would first prepare and keep for self this compound; which will not be habit-forming, neither will it act other than for the betterment (if the other applications that we find necessary are carried out); preparing the compound in this manner:

19. To 4 ounces of simple syrup, add: Essence of Lactated Pepsin...................1/2 ounce, Tincture of Valerian.........................1/2 ounce, Elixir Calisaya..............................1/2 ounce, 10% Solution of Iodide of Potassium...........20 minims, 10% Solution Bromide of Potassium.............40 minims, Tincture of Stillingia.......................1/4 ounce, Tincture of Capsici............................5 minims.

20. The dose when taken (though it's somewhat bitter, it will not be too disagreeable) will be half a teaspoonful in half a glass of water. This may be taken every two hours IF necessary, but once to twice a day SHOULD be sufficient. However, should the body feel nervous or irritated, or disturbances in the general system, this will quiet the whole body.

21. It would be well that there be taken each day as much olive oil as the body will well assimilate, but take it in very small doses - ten to twenty drops, or half a teaspoonful three to four times each day. This may be taken before each meal, once between each meal, and at retiring. Do not take so much that it becomes rancid in the system, but if such should arise (as indicated by an over amount of belching and tasting of same) REDUCE the quantity but take just as often.

22. We would also have at least sixteen to twenty, to twenty-eight, treatments of a general osteopathic manipulation to REST the body; to allow the general organism to become more and more coordinated throughout the system. These may be taken every other day for a while and then once a week, or may be taken twice a week for a longer period and then extended to once a week.

23. The diet should be well-balanced and wholesome; not too

296-1 Page 4

much sweets nor too great quantities of meats, though foods that carry a great deal of phosphorus and the like are better for the system; as fish, fish eggs, cod liver oil or cod fish and the like, all of these are well for the body.

24. Ready for questions.

25. (Q) Have I still diabetes? (A) Only those conditions that arise from the overtaxing of the system as related to the activities of the pancreas. Not true diabetes. The manipulations, when these are given in the osteopathic manner, will be found to be most beneficial in bringing about better conditions in this direction.

26. (Q) What would you suggest for improving hearing? (A) Those manipulations that will come with the creating of better coordination between the sympathetic and the sensory organism, which - as we have indicated - is deficient more from the lack of the oils in the system that make for the better or the more perfect lymph and emunctory circulation; the form of condition that has been described as related to the unbalancing in the katabolism, rather than metabolism of the system.

27. (Q) Is the gas on my stomach the fault of my diet? (A) Rather the fault of the impulses from nerve exhaustion of the body, from the centers along the cerebrospinal system.

28. (Q) What causes pains in heels and knees, particularly? (A) The pressure in the circulation and the poor circulation through the lower extremities. These will be materially aided with those general distributions of the circulation and nerve and blood supply, through the manipulations that have been suggested to be of a GENERAL nature. Not adjustments, rather those treatments of the general nature, osteopathically given. It would be well that these treatments be nearer in the form of the neuropathic, but there is needed more of the leverage of muscular and tendon forces in the treatment than is ordinarily accorded in the neuropathy. Hence the general massage of the osteopath would be the better.

29. (Q) Any other advice of any kind for the body at this time? (A) Keep that mental balance, that has so well kept the mental and spiritual forces activative or acting in the system. In patience will each body possess its soul. Be patient,

296-1 Page 5

long-suffering, kind, gentle. These are the fruits of the spirit. The spirit is willing. Accord to the physical body a force through which this may manifest the better.
